I got a new Martin guitar (one I had dreamed of having my whole life, but never had enough $$$$ to buy one).Then one day not too long ago, I picked up my guitar to play Stairway to Heaven. I had played that song about 1 million times. I could not remember the opening riff. I love the guitar so much and started to panic because I thought something was totally wrong with my brain. So I decided to take guitar lessons again. I found Encore Academy of Music through Groupon and signed up. Dave Coronado, who is like 20 years younger than I, is my teacher. I have never met a person that has so much musical talent as Dave. I was so amazed at his talent to play many musical instruments and to just listen to a song and be able to play it. I started out taking 30 minute guitar lessons that are at such a reasonable rate. I think I payed the same when I was 17. I'm having so much fun that I decided to take hour lessons from him.....just a really cool, laid back guy.

But through the years it had really deteriorated. It's really old! But Jackie took it and restored it to be even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I knew that it was going to take a lot of work just to get the chair safe to sit in. She took her time and poured her heart into this project. The pictures will show just how great a job she did. I signed up for an EKG technician course during this pandemic to hopefully get my foot in the door…read moreat a better job. From the beginning I should've known that the school is not a reputable school. They are worried about taking your money right away before giving you a curriculum or even a tour of the school. The classroom I was personally in fits 3 people and the equipment used to taught the course was all non functional. The first day was a mandatory CPR course (which i get why you need in the medical field) but all it was was showing us a video that asked us to follow the video with a dummy that we did not have. When Dr. Raymond came back in the room he taught the most basic cpr instructions on a a gross looking dummy for about 10 minutes. The classrooms were full of old unusable equipment and photos of students from the early 2000's. I learned everything straight from the book/the internet on my own. Dr. Raymond's lectures are about 10 minutes long (if you're lucky) where he says nonsensical things or reads straight from the book. I asked him questions countless times and was left more confused than before as it was like he didn't know what he was talking about. He accidentally left me a voicemail talking trash about his students with the other teacher(his wife) and how students all think they know everything. At the end of my course I took my test in person and in writing(not electronically) and did not hear back anything about my results. I finally called and was answered by a rude receptionist saying she was sure she sent me the link to my certificate. Dr. Raymond did not offer me job placement even though I made sure to ask when I signed up if that's something they did. His wife assured me that they did. Instead I got a call from him offering to pay me $9 an hour to teach his EKG course for 2 hours a day, 2 days a week. (So a whopping $36 a week to teach others things I barely learned on my own) TLDR: do not go here if you want a real education. If you want to pay to go sit in a gross outdated classroom, read straight from a book everyday, and listen to the Doctor take personal phone calls while sitting in class with you trying to read about what he's about to "lecture" you on then this is the place! Also beware and ask about ALL THE FEES. As the test is not included, nor is CPR.

The instructor Allistor, was a wonderful teacher, and answered all of our questions. He was extremely patient and thoroughly identified different methods to locate veins. He also explained how to poke and draw blood using different needle gauges. Allistor was definitely a team leader and I genuinely enjoyed this course.. I was encouraged to read both the Phlebotomy Third Edition book and also the Phlebotomy Quick Study flyer. Highly Recommend taking this program!

It's tucked away a bit from the busy road, but you shouldn't have any problems. The parking lot was small. I visited on a Sunday afternoon so my car was the only car in the parking lot, but I was still thinking, "I better park in a way that I can easily backup or get out with my big SUV." The front door to the business was locked and you have to ring the doorbell. My first impression was, "it is wall-to-wall pianos. It was tight. There really was barely enough room to walk down the "aisle". Think of it as, if you're sitting at one of the pianos, people would have to jump over you like Super Marios Bros. style to get to the other side. They have more than one building and the other building wasn't as "tight". Our salesman, Larry, was quite knowledgeable. He asked us questions such as what we needed, price range, size, etc. He had us play on various pianos and explained to us the intricate details about each piano. Does Larry know pianos? Yes. Is Larry a salesman? Yes. We were in the market for a used piano, but they really didn't have used baby grands. Most of the used pianos were uprights. In the end, Larry helped us narrow our choices down to 3 pianos. Of course, the one that sounded the best was also the most expensive. In the end, we had to think about it. It is a big purchase and one that takes up a lot of physical space in your home so I urge everyone to sleep on this decision. What I appreciated about HPC is that they are knowledgeable about pianos. What I didn't appreciate was the fact they didn't tell me that the fancy piano I almost bought was not actually "German-made". It's made in China. Nothing wrong about Made in China, but if I'm spending this amount of money, I would like to know all the details. In the end, we decided to keep looking. Final verdict: I would not buy a piano from here.
