We rented scooters for 1 hour, but the prices were very misleading. The scooters are advertised for $16/hr, but it's really $28/hr when you include gas, taxes and such. We didn't find out the TRUE price til we finished our ride. Show your student ID to rent 1, get 1 free. The guy who helped us out was a little too chill. We walked up to the counter, told him we were interested in renting scooters, and he pretty much just stood there. We had to ask him how much it costs and how to get started. The good thing is that you'll be on your way in a jiffy. They have you sign the paperwork, give you a helmet, do a 5 min demo, and you're off! The location is convenient (behind the Fairmont Empress), and it's a beautiful ride along the water. Definitely worth checking out. read more

We didn't know what to do in Victoria, so we decided to rent a bike and explore. My friend googled a place and found this bike rental place. The guys who work there are super friendly and easy going. They definitely made the experience a whole lot better. We didn't know where we wanted to bike, so they recommend us to bike along the coast line since we only wanted to bike for an hour and a half. It was an amazing trail. The view was spectacular. I couldn't have asked for more. One thing that did bug me was that my butt was sore a couple of hours later after sitting on the bike. Otherwise, this was an amazing experience and I'll always to explore a new city by trying to bike around now! Defintely worth it to bike around Victoria! I'd recommend it! read more

Rented for Cycle BC Rentals and Tours today. This was my first time renting and riding a scooter. I have to say this was probably the best shop I could have asked for. When we arrived we were greeted by two awesome guys. They had everything set up for us and helped us get the paper work done. I'm one of the guys went through the training twice for me. I had so much fun on the moped!! The rental process was easy and quick. They provide you with helmets, of course, and on cold days, they provide you with gloves. If it's your first time in the area, the employee gives you a quick overview of the map and suggests the best routes. You sign some papers, they go through a test run to make sure you've got good balance, and send you off. We were here on a day trip and the moped was the best mode of transportation. 2 hours gave us plenty of time to stop and see many sights. One of the best decisions that we could have made on our trip! Mike S. has always owned a scooter and I've always been a little afraid of riding them. We ended up renting two of their little Honda scooters for a couples hours and scooted around the Victoria coast for the morning. It was SO MUCH FUN! We were able to see so much more of Victoria then we ever would have been able to without them. They give you a very short tutorial to make sure that you are ok with riding on your own, and send you off after about 2 minutes. The scooters and helmets were in great condition and at $16 an hour a pretty decent rental price. We spent about 2 hours with the scoots and with tax, insurance and gas, spent about $89.00. They also had two person scooter, bikes, and motorcycles as well. Overall, we would definitely recommend. read more

I made the reservation on line for street bikes last minute on the last day at Victoria for 2 hours. It was nice but I felt rushed. Shop attendant didn't consider rider's size. When I asked for smaller adult size which I can plant my feet, the attendant looked at me annoyed and as he tells me that they don't have one that is smaller, he pulled out a bike a bit smaller. It was a decent bike but as I try to shift gears, chains came off the gear. Luckily I was already a block away when it happened, so I cut the ride short by 30 min. When I tried to return the bike, attendant try to charge me for 1.5hrs. Instead of getting 30min. credit, I had to remind him that I already paid for two hrs. I understand that it was a bit busy on Sunday, but wished they are more attentive. read more

Came across this shop while walking through Victoria. On a whim we rented a Suzuki 850 for the day (you'll need a motorcycle license, of course). The Victoria environs are absolutely gorgeous, especially along the waterfront. Speed limits are low, so it's no problem to relax and sight see. Spent a delightful day. Minor damage to bike (purely my clumsiness, dropped it when I was stopped). No problem from the shop (their initial concern was purely that we were not injured), repair charge for the broken clutch lever was very reasonable. I'd happily rent again if I return. read more

This place was very convenient, the staff was friendly and the bikes and scooters were in excellent condition and well maintained. It is $18 an hour, plus $10 insurance plus $3 gas so if you rent the scooter for 2 hours it runs around $50. I would highly recommend taking a ride around Beach Street and see all the parks and look outs. read more

I had just arrived off the ferry for a day of fun in Victoria. So much I wanted to see; so little time, and I didn't know how far it would take to walk. So I stopped in at Cycle BC. The guy who helped me was really appreciative - it was a cloudy, drizzly day in Victoria and he had had some cancellations due to weather. I wanted to do it anyway - "Adventurous dude," he said. He picked out a bike for me, explained the helmet requirements and the equipment in the bag, and gave me suggestions on where to go. He then took the time to fit the bike for me (really good because it had been a while since I've mounted a bike). I had an enjoyable couple of hours riding down to Beacon Hill Park and then along the western side of the peninsula down to Fisherman's Wharf. And while the weather was cloudy, there was no rain. The people who cancelled missed out on a great experience. :) Next time I'm on the island I'll be sure to give them my business again. read more

Excellent bicycle rental shop. $7 an hour or $24 for the day for a 21 speed bike. The guy that helped is showed is where to go and they include helmets, a pump, patch kit, spare tube and lock. Very friendly staff, super helpful and good prices. Only complaint is that the bikes could really use fenders for the rain. read more

AMAZING!!! My husband & I go to Victoria at least once a year. This past trip in September was the first time we decided to rent mopeds. We got there about 1.5 hours before they closed. I wish we had made this our first stop of the day! The guys working were super helpful and very nice. I had never rode a moped before so I was a little nervous at first. Before they let you go on your way they give you a quick rundown on how everything on the moped works and let you test it out. They do not let you go unless they know you feel comfortable. Driving around Victoria is awesome. It's not that crowded and drivers are pretty friendly with you on a moped. With only having about an hour on the mopeds we stayed pretty close to downtown. The price was extremely reasonable. They only charged us for an hour and I think for the 2 of us it came out to be about $40, if that. read more

Being the only place in town to rent a moped, there isn't really an option. That being said, there probably is a reason these guys are the only ones. Like the website suggests, some of these guys put their lives into bikes and not only can they rent you a bike but they can sell you one and even do repairs. For first time riders, they will give you a quick tutorial and make sure you can at least start and stop. But it's kinda dodgy they'll set you up and let you go. They do make you sign off on your life. I thought their rates a bit confusing. Seems insurance is manditory and isn't included. Also seemed the coverage was minimal being the deductible was high. Also the fuel option, filling the tank before you returned the bike or an hourly rated fixed dollar amount in-house fuel charge. (What if you drove to the beach and lounged for 3 hours?) read more

If you want to see Victoria from a different perspective, rent some bikes and go at your own pace. It's worth the extra expense to rent them all day, you can't possibly see much in one or two hours. So many great places to stop along the way, Victoria is also a great bike friendly City. Service was great at cycle BC rentals. Very accommodating, very nice, and very informative by giving us maps and telling us the best places to stop for food and drink. read more

Outstanding! Convenient corner location a couple of blocks up from the harbor. Plenty of sturdy, well maintained bikes with bottle holders and bungees on the back to tie down a purse or smaller item. Leave your larger backpacks behind or you can store them at the shop. Great service from the staff. They provide maps and are very knowledgeable about access to nearby trails. Helmets provided. Cost was just over 50 for two bikes: half a day. Bike repair available if you have your own. Scooters and Motorcycles also available. Enjoy this biking capital of Canada. Paths are well marked, it's a great way to see the peninsula, and the water, mountain, and farm views are truly stunning. read more

They were super friendly and gave us all the equipment we needed, including jackets and gloves to keep warm! This was a really fun thing to do. We rented scooters and drove along the coast line and it was spectacular. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the service guy. Allan was rude, condescending and clearly hates people. It took him a full minute to even acknowledge us at the counter and he showed no enthusiasm for our business. In fact, while we were out on the scooters we came across others on them and we stopped and all laughed about what a grouch Allan was. I actually laughed out loud when we paid at the end and the payment machine asked if I wanted to add a tip. As if. That said, the scooters were in great shape and it was really fun. read more
