He was aware I had a class coming up and was waiting on a front tire I ordered online from Cycle Gear. He monitored the order status of the tire and as soon as he realized the tire wouldn't arrive in time, he contacted a local supplier, found that exact tire and had it in the shop that day! Stopped in about a month ago to purchase a new helmet and was greeted right away by the staff. Overall, we were not impressed by the Customer Service we received from Rick. We were trying to replace a battery that they did not have in-stock and while Rick was in the middle of placing our order when the phone rang. He answered but then stopped service with us, walked around the store answering the callers questions while we are still waiting to finish our transaction. I understand you don't want to miss a call, but the caller could have been put on hold until we were finished with the transaction that Rick was already in the middle of. We do our best to support a small, locally owned business, but we also have other things to do in our day than wait around for their employee to price check for others while we are standing at the counter. read more

This place has really sunkin its roots into the city of Gilroy. I love it. We were in dire need of a motorcycle store. One we can afford. Dont get me wrong, I am all for mom and pop shops but its nice not having to over pay or order online anymore. Especially for the little things. Ive purchased many items here that you can find at any cycle gear. They also offer many events. Its a way to get the community to become involved. Plus they give away cool stuff and gift cards. Yes!! Ive won a few times ;) You just simply put your name,address, and e-mail on a piece of paper and toss it in the draw box. They give away prizes every hour. This cycle gear has a huge parking lot so dont get lost. The store is kind of hidden but if you see the guitar center, its past that to your right. It used to be the super old Gilroy theater. Weird. My boyfriend and I were here today looking jackets and helmets. The parking lot looked hella empty and we thought the store was actually closed. The women inside was really nice and attentive. However, she was really too much. She was helicoptering around like we were teenagers trying to steal something. I'm sure she didn't want to be like that. It's probably dead all day and with closing time in 30 minutes, it's understandable. I just like my space when I shop. I also hate shopping, so this sucked 10 times more. The rating is really 3 stars because of the hovering. I added 1 star because it was the best deal in the area. Seaside and Salinas prices sucked. I could deal with the lady just for the price. 2 helmets and 2 jackets for around $300 bucks. Best deal in the area. Go here. OH. I just remembered. She kept calling me hun. WTF. I'm a long time motorcyclists who rides both dirt and street, I've spent many thousands of dollars at motorcycle shops, online etc. I've got to hand it to Cycle Gear, they have a nice selection of both dirt and street gear/parts at prices that rival and sometimes beat online with the clearance rack! The customer service is exceptional too. I've had them go out of their way to make sure I'm very well taken care of, from things like easy exchanges to searching for and finding clearance items from other stores to get me what I want at the best price. All the folks are nice but Chris always remembers my name she is the best, Thanks Chris! This Cyclegear is as good as any other Cyclegear. The only complaint I have is that it has significantly less product then their store in San Jose. I felt like the had 1/4 of the product of their San Jose shop. This shop is also fairly small. This is why I docked off one star. This review is for my husband and in hopes of improving the customer service of this location. It started with a phone call about changing a dirt bike tire. Alex answered the phone and when asked if they had time to change the tire he replied with "we're really busy, let me ask" comes back on the phone and says "uhh what did you want?" When told him again he said "yeah, bring it in". If he's busy, fine but maybe a little training in phone customer service would be good. We go there to drop off the tire. It's not busy at all. There are 2 kids at the counter. We have an old tire, a new tire and a tube. It took about 10 minutes and 2 people for them to understand what we were asking which was change the tire. They take it back and tell us it will be 24 hours to change. No problem because it's Friday and I'm going riding Sunday. We show up at 5:30 on Saturday. Ask the same kid about the tire. He goes back to check comes back so confused asking if we wanted the tire changed. So we go back and see the tire just sitting there with nothing done. So we picked up our things and walked out. No sorry, no explanation, just utter confusion. Thankfully the night before we bought the tools to change the tire ourselves. I know covid times are hard but customer service should not be affected. Joey is always pleasant to work with. But the 4 guys in there today doing absolutely nothing is unacceptable. We try to always shop local but these are reasons why people go to amazon. read more

I have been in this store a few time, and my last visit was horrific! I went there to exchange some gloves that i bought couple months ago because the stitches were coming off! and I ended up getting the exact same ones after the exchange! After going to another cycle shop in Gilroy, where I was totally ignored by the staff, I came to Cycle Gear. I was greeted immediately by a friendly clerk, who answered all my questions, helped me find the type of helmet I wanted, worked with me to be sure I bought the correct size, and then found one that fit the bill perfectly -- and which was also on sale for a far lower price than I expected. I prefer to shop at locally owned businesses rather than chains. And I've had great experience wit their customer Service. Will being super awesome and helpful to me. As a beginning rider, he helped me make the best decisions for my safety and my budget. The only time I've really had to buy something from another shop was when I tried on all their women's size dirt bike boots and none of them fit me properly. So, he referred me to Faultline Powersports in Hollister. And I had a great experience their too. I came here to buy my new set of Battlax BT016 for my 2007 600rr. They were so cheap here, and i found the same cloths that i purchased in San Jose on Race St. for cheaper at this location. As we walked in no one said welcome or asked if we needed anything. Second my husband asked for women's helmets and the person who directed us to where they might be looked annoyed to help us then she went to the front to check on her phone(she was on her phone the whole time we were there ) then we asked if they had a size on a jacked and they automatically said no. After that all employees were in the front talking about their personal life. We received no help what's so ever. We were ready to buy a motorcycle helmet and 2 jackets add that up to almost 2000! Needless to say we will not be coming to cycle gear for our needs but we will make the drive to morgan hill to the Harley Davidson store.
