If you're considering selling your motorcycle on consignment through Hollister Powersports, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Before they'll accept a bike on consignment, they charge $200 for a health and safety inspection. My 2018 Indian Scout Bobber had fewer than 4,000 miles, was in excellent condition, and passed that inspection without issue. After my bike sat on their showroom floor for 10 months, I received a call saying they could no longer sell it unless I paid approximately $700 to replace the fork seals and another $150 for a new battery. The battery recommendation made no sense because I had installed a brand-new battery only a month before dropping the bike off. It also appears the battery was never kept on a tender during the 10 months they had possession of it. When I picked up my motorcycle, I discovered a large scratch on the top of the rear fender that was not there when I left it. They denied any responsibility. To make matters worse, they still tried to charge me to replace the battery before releasing my bike. Overall, I left disappointed with the communication, the care taken with my motorcycle, and what felt like unnecessary repair recommendations after almost a year of waiting. It was my mistake, but I am super disappointed that the sales person JT would not help me make thinks right. But maybe that is how dealership sales ppl are. I will never go back to this dealership. Matt provided the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. He was rude and dismissive with an attitude the moment I showed up. Took my bike in for a warranty service with what i believe is a common issue with Goldwings(ticking noise). A day later they called to let me know it's ready for pick up. They said the oil was low even though I just changed it 1k miles prior. When I got there they gave me a bill so I asked for what. Matt immediately got rude and angry. When I tried to explain I just changed the oil and checked it according to the manual. He asked how I check, when I tried explaining, he interrupted me and said I dont owe anything. He then told me not to come back. I have never experience such horrible customer service and I've purchased at least 8 new bikes since 2017. I recently had a disappointing experience with Hollister Powersports that left me dissatisfied. After reaching out to Robert Sharp (Sales) regarding a particular bike and a possible trade, I was told send Photos and current registration of the bike, which I did promptly. Robert gave me a very lowball offer and said he would reach out to another company for a better payout and will call me back next day around noon. Next day came and gone and Robert never responded. I reached out to Robert a day after for an update and he said his other buyer hasn't responded. Since then (Saturday 11/12/24), it's been radio silence no update, no response whatsoever. A simple email or call with a status update would have been sufficient but this lack of communication is simply unacceptable in any business. Given this experience, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. There are companies out there that genuinely care about their customers and provide the support we deserve. My 2020 Indian Roadmaster that I bought at Auburn C&E and I were out on a ride to the bay during the Labor Day weekend, a Saturday. While riding in Richmond, I noticed my foot shifter was lose! I stopped on the side of the road to inspect only to find the while shifter assembly (heel shifter as well) was coming out of the frame and becoming very loose! Every time I shifted gears, it slowly was coming out of the frame. I called Hollister Indian and Matt said come through if u can make it by 5. They are over an hour drive from my house, but I still go here because I don't trust the local repair places in San Jose. Rewind, it was the Summer of 2022, love was in the air, society had stopped fearing cooo-viva-19, and I was with my best friend as he kicked a few tires on some motorcycles he was trying to buy. We stopped in at Hollister after an exceptionally disappointing trip (actually two trips to Spirit in San Jose) to our local Indian dealer. He was frustrated, I was just telling him, "It's a sign man, the universe doesn't want you to get back into riding." We were greeted by JT in the show room, already something was different, he wasn't asked us what we were currently riding - trying to form a quick opinion on us. Oh no, quite the opposite, he just made some casual small talk, when we approached a bike that caught our eye, he was quick to give us some information, but not in a "please get a way from me and lest me touch" type of way. My friend found a bike he wanted to take on a test ride, and while I was hanging out sitting on another bike, basically resting my legs, he turned to me and said "Is that the one you want to ride?", "No, I am just here hanging out with him" "Do you have a license?" "Yes, but I stopped riding ten years ago" "It's a beautiful day, why don't you join us, that way we can take our time." So that was the summer of 2022... We left that day without a bike, and my friend ultimately ended up making a huge mistake by going with a different oil leaking brand. Fast forward to this past Friday - January 2023, after spending the last 6 months getting back into riding after I caught the bug on that summer test ride, I returned to Hollister Powersports... . . . To see JT again, and buy the bike, he didn't even realize he sold 6 months ago, just being a decent dude who knows his products. Few bonus items to note - everyone at this dealership is pretty cool, the owner Rey is rumored to have been the person who brought the Indian Brand back to life in the early 2000s before Polaris got involved - I don't know the facts but it checks out if you talk to him, the dude loves bikes, he loves making them individual and special for each customer, he walks around dressed like he works in the service bay, he's just a normal cool down to earth dude. read more

Let's start with common sense. I had my motorcycle serviced summer 2023 put approximately 100 miles on it through 4-17-24 and the kickstand they installed last summer had the bolt and spring crack off as I was parking it in my garage yesterday. I took it in 4-17-24 after calling them and they verified my purchase date. Spent 30 minutes and charged me $153.64 for a new stand. Naturally disappointed I asked to speak to the owner Ray Sotello but he was too busy. Pathetic customer appreciation and service. I paid the bill since it wasn't that I was concerned about I just thought they would guarantee a practically new kickstand less than a year old. I rode down to Hollister for a good deal on a brand new motorcycle. Saved some money on the purchase, but lost time and money later with a lack of service after the sale. Upon further inspection of the bike at home, I found the dealership had managed to install the adjustable windshield incorrectly, as well as the handguards. There were tooling marks on the handguards that made it obvious someone put the mounting bracket in a vice or grasped it with a pair of pliers and managed to strip the threads during mounting. I notified them the next day, and had been in contact with the dealer since (nearly six weeks). Hollow promises to help and provide replacement parts never materialized. Lesson learned: even when the bike has 0 miles you have to fully inspect it on the floor to avoid buying a bike that was set-up incorrectly. Funny since dealers charge hundreds of dollars for a standard "handling" or set-up fee. read more

What a great group of people. On vacation. Had an issue with a belt and they came to my rescue. Called the manager Neil who answered the phone 30 minutes before doors opened. He answered my questions, helped me trouble the shoot the problem and we came in. When we arrived the sales team helped us immediately directing is to the service department. The guys in the service department were excellent. Super easy going. Explained the process (warranty vs non-warranty issue). They emphasize safety and are just a good knowledgeable group of people. They even squeezed me in as they had a full schedule. The bikes here are clean. They have added some custom paint jobs to many of the bikes so you aren't getting just another factory red or black. Pin stripes. Ghost paints. Really unique stuff. Huge selection too. Sales guys clearly love motorcycles. Although we were waiting for the work to get done they were happy to talk about the history and models. They really know their stuff too. Ended up having a misaligned belt adjusted which isn't on the warranty. But they diagnosed and repaired the problem well under an hour so it didn't hurt the wallet. These guys are aces.
