It had been a few years since "Day" was at my house. Once again he showed up smiling and warm. My latest rescue pup was happy to meet him. He again amazed me with his mobile bike shop and gear. He inspected, cleaned, adjusted, and lubricated my two bikes. I have a Giant and a Public; both bikes are for pedalling about. I am a relazed, "not in a hurry" rider. My history includes riding from Redwood City to San Jose multiple times, the Portola Valley to Ralston loop, and the dirty shirt ride. My dog and I greeted him outside and then we went into the backyard for him to work on the bikes. I was first impressed with how organized he was. Everything he needed neatly attached to his electric bike. It was like watching a surgeon get ready for surgery. My two bikes, one a Giant and the other a Public, both were dirty and in need of TLC. Found this company from a recommendation. Came on time and has a mobile work area that he set up (Day was his name). Had a new (4months old) and older (10yrs+) bike that he worked on. His approach is he asks about your issue, when fixed he explains what he has done, asks you to ride and verify. Makes adjustments on your feedback and you take for another ride. TL;DR: You did it. You found it! This is the best bike repair option in the area. ------------ I have these two classic folding bikes that were fun to look at but were getting increasingly difficult to ride. Doing a tune-up myself seemed daunting so I started looking around the area. Some reviews seemed iffy and some quotes were out of my budget. Some shops also weren't upfront. Day from Cycling to You was completely different. As soon as I called, he immediately started telling me specific things that might be wrong and what he might have to do. I gave the disclaimer that I know nearly nothing about bikes. He gave me a super reasonable quote as well as possible additional fees that might arise. He also was able to come directly to my apartment the next day. Day in person was super gracious and helpful and answered all my questions! After he was finished he also gave me a lower price than the baseline he initially quoted because my bikes weren't as beat up as I thought. I feel really happy that he didn't take advantage of my lack of bike knowledge. It's rare to see someone be so honest that they actually charge less than what was agreed upon. For about the price of a tune-up for one bike at local stores, I was able to tune-up two bikes as well as getting educated on what I had. And of course the bikes ride much smoother!
