On the day of, he showed up on-time, checked out my bike and invited me to stay and watch so that he could walk me through what he was doing and working on and encouraged me to ask questions - I came out learning so much. He was even so kind to let my two Rottweilers say hi and hang out. Then I called him back and immediately scheduled an appointment to fix my bicycle. It had a million things wrong with it (chain needed replacing, all brake lines and a REALLY REALLY bad flat, needing a tire replace as well.). Nolan came over, did the assessment, and then went to work. He worked efficiently and within 2hrs we had everything working flawlessly and buttoned up. Labor is hard to find. Highly recommend Nolan for his bike services. Almost all other bike and service shops have a much higher fee for tuneup services. While that works for expensive bikes, it's not worth it for the cheaper ones like what one might take to Burning Man. Nolan has different levels of service for exactly this reason and empathizes for what is needed for the circumstance, in this case, the playa. He is highly responsive, was on time as promised, really took care of all the details to prep the bike and explained everything in detail. I love that this is a mobile service that comes to me when my bike doesn't work and I don't have to haul it around- I have an e-bike so it is QUITE heavy and I can barely lift it let alone get it on a trailer on my car. Nolan was great from the first moment we were in touch through the final closing out of the bill which was amazingly reasonable! I had an electric bike that needed some work. This was my first time using this company. The owner even told me something I thought needed repairing but he explained why it didn't which saved me cash! Also made me trust him. The service was convenient (comes to your home) and the work was done quickly. This was a month ago and all is still great with the work done. Owner is very knowledgeable and will talk about issues you want to know about but he also doesn't go on and on with stories. Contacted Nolan on a Wednesday afternoon; he called back within an hour to schedule for Friday morning. I met Nolan by chance at the Farmers Market at the College of San Mateo campus. I had an eBike purchased from an online vendor (no local service) and needed to find someone who could help me with a basic tune-up and some rear brake adjustments. I had tried 2 other bike repair shops and neither did a very good job. Nolan seemed more than knowledgeable enough and because he is a mobile repair service, he was willing to come to my home. Nolan was terrific - competent, thorough, willing to explain everything and reasonably priced. Later, I had a more serious issue with the torque sensor which required that my motor be completely switched out for a new one. Not only did Nolan do the switch-out of the motor, but spent time with the eBike manufacturer to diagnose what turned out to be an electrical issue that prevented me from configuring my Enviolo automatic shifting system. (Yeah, I had a number of issues with my eBike, but i still LOVE it) I highly recommend Nolan to anyone needing a responsive, competent and honest bike repair tech who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done, and done right - eBike or a regular bicycle (AND, he comes to your home!) Because of Nolan's great work, I have my eBike back for my Sunday rides (which average around 25+ miles). read more
