Terrible experience with a rude manager. Booked for a first time 6:30PM class and paid $10.00. My friend and I were asked to come at 6:15 to fill out paperwork and get the bike set up. A little bit of a challenge parking but we arrived by 6:20. The manager told us we could not take the class and would need to rebook. Both my friend and I have taken spin before and would have gladly signed off on the documents and been able to get set up on the bike in the 10 minutes we had prior to class. The manager was extremely abrupt and would not even consider accommodating us even with 10 minutes to spare prior to class. With all of the options for both full service gyms and a bunch of boutique gyms in the immediate area... no thank you! They had 3 people at the desk that could of had us taken care of in minutes. Very bad business decision. read more

Was so excited to take the trial class at cycle bar. We were required to arrive 15 minutes in advance of the class start time to fill out paperwork and to be prepped on bike safety. Unfortunately, when we arrived it took us a few minutes additional time to find parking and we were only 10 minutes in advance of class start. Upon entering the cycle bar, and referred to as "the angels have made it" .....we were IMMEDIATELY informed we could not take the class and needed to rebook. Not for nothing, I'm a single, full time working mom and finding a free 45 minutes for myself is very hard to do. Impolite manager. For my first class I showed up five minutes before the start time. She asked my name - when I told her, her friendly demeanor changed to the opposite and she said "you're late" and it felt like I was a student being reprimanded by a teacher. She proceeded to tell me to fill out the paper work for the next time. I understand you're supposed to show up 15 minutes early for your first class, but already had my own shoes and am very experienced with indoor cycle. Could have just let me in. I drove 20 minutes to the class. I wrote a note to ownership and no one wrote me back. It's a shame bc they are the only game in town wish another studio would open up as I love indoor cycle so much. read more

Just had my 30 min intro class. I got there about 10 min early just so I could figure out what I needed to do before hand (unlike the reviewer below who tried to walk in as class started) Instructor was great, music was on point, the leaderboard is a great idea and makes you push just a bit harder. In the 30 min was there, I burned a little over 300 cal. This included a short 5 minute stint with a 4 lb weight for upper body. I signed up for their $99 unlimited for 1 month - a great deal offered to newbies. Can't wait to spin again! read more

IVE BEEN GOING TO cycle bar in Closter for three years. I've had some good instructors. However, the better ones seem to have left This is my opinion : The staff are all great. The studio is ok. The new wave of instructors are out of the same mold; they talk to much, their microphone volume is to loud!!!! , they really dont say anything of value and their music is synced to their ride very well. If you have to wear earplugs in a spinning class there is something wrong. I've asked for the lead instructors and owners phone numbers to discuss in a positive way but all I could get was an email. IE. Management by exception. If management could tweek a few minor considerations, the overall experience will improve 1000%. read more

While my commute to Cyclebar is only a 2 min drive. It's honestly one of the best, knowing when you walk through those doors. You clip in to an experience like other. 45 min of riding to the rhythm of the music. From the quick pace, to when you turn up the gear and ride up the hill. You will definitely work up a sweat. The instructors are amazing they always encourage and motivate you to ride your best, and always know when you have more to offer.The instructors become some of your biggest supporters along the way. Special shoutouts to Bailey and JOC. When you're in the studio, nothing else matters it's just you and the bike. It's a place where you can leave behind whatever has happened in your day, and just ride your feelings out. This place has become my outlet for when I am stressed. Every-time I ride, I leave with a new energy and feel better about myself. It's not only a cycle studio it's a family. Where every member makes the studio a better place. I started by cyclebar journey january 2022, and have been to many other fitness classes. Cyclebar Closter is by far one of my favorite fitness class to attend! The workout is addictive, and have loved it thus far! I feel welcomed and am always greeted by name and warm smile, which is awesome to me. What stands out the most is that cyclebar closter makes you feel like you are part of a family! Beware, they will charge your credit card "no show" fees and will mislead you when you try to cancel your membership in order to get an extra month charged. I was charged two $20 no show fees when I cancelled one class and the 2nd class I had proof of email stats that I did attend the class. They would not refund me the fees and offered to credit my account. I emailed to cancel my membership within their 30 day policy. The manager texted me a few days after telling me I had to cancel "in person" but as long as I signed before my billing date I would not get charged. I signed 9 days before my billing date and was still charged on the billing date. The staff is very nice but the fact that they will charge your card for fees and not do the right thing by simply refunding you; Instead force you to stay on as a client for you to get credits applied is not conscientious practice from this business for me. read more

I've been going to this CycleBar location since it opened almost 4 years ago - and it has been a life changer. I can't believe I haven't already reviewed it! I've tried pretty much every fitness class there is in North Bergen as well as in NYC over the past few years, from HIIT/bootcamp/kickboxing/barre/yoga/other spin studios, as well as online spin classes during the pandemic (yes, that one) and I keep going back to CycleBar. The fierce energy and personal attention to detail make it stand out above all the other classes I've taken. It's a rhythmic spin class, meaning you spin to the beat of the music, and the instructors choreograph everything to their amazing playlists, so it feels more like you're dancing on a bike rather than working out. But don't be fooled! It's definitely a workout. But don't be intimidated either! The instructors are so welcoming, and offer modifications for all of their moves so that even beginners can follow along. The bike has a monitor that gives you your metrics (revolutions per minute, power, resistance, distance) and you get an email with your performance stats (and playlist!) after every class. They offer free rentals on their spin shoes so don't worry if you don't own a pair. Also, the studio is dark and everyone is so focused on what they're doing that no one is paying attention to what you're doing except you and the instructor who is there to help you be your best self! All the instructors are fantastic, but my all time favorite instructor is Marisa. She is the owner of the studio, and you can really feel all the work and passion she puts into every aspect of CycleBar. Honestly, my mental and physical health would be a mess without this place! It was the first place I went back to during the pandemic as soon as it was safe to resume going to fitness classes. The classes, studio, and instructors have provided a sanctuary for me these past few years and I don't know where I would be without this place! read more

What a fun experience! If you want to burn calories, cycle to great music, be inspired by a great team, this is the place. Can't say enough great things about Marissa and Abby, owners who truly know how to pamper their clientele. Marissa is the platinum standard in spin instructors, too. She's been one of my all-time favorites at Fly Wheel and has added David, another FW alum to the staff, who also is on that list. The varied times of classes really makes it an exceptional studio, and there are no slackers instructing off hours, either. Lisa has been a consistent motivator and Kendall rocks. Beyond cycle studio itself, it's everything else. Heather and the incredible team at the front desk are so welcoming from the second you arrive. Joey rocks: doesn't miss a beat making sure you are hydrated, have shoes in hand, and the bike set up is perfect. The lockers are equipped with phone chargers. For me, with a phone always running on a low battery, this is major. There's every little amenity you can imagine. And what a warm welcome.. And buildup.. to my birthday including a birthday treat. There are plenty of promos to keep you motivated. And did I mention? Brunch is on CB after the 10:45 Sunday class. Immediately after class, expect to get your stats. FYI: depending on when you ride, they will vary a great deal. The Saturday group is among the most competitive. But you don't have to sweat the numbers. The music will keep you motivated, and they'll send you the playlist great to get you going for that post- cycle exercise session. One downside: after going to CB, you may think other studios are not as attentive, committed or into your individual goals because CB Closter has raised the bar! read more
