My roommates and I got our friend a cyclebar pass and she let us know that new-comers get one free ride to try it out! She wanted some of us to go to her classes with her, and I figured why not! I love spin, and a free spin class? Cant pass that up! So I got my free class and enrolled with my friend. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was VERY pleasantly surprised! The room is really dark, which I liked because it made spinning less intimidating. The music is also super loud, which I enjoy because it covers the sound of my heavy breathing LOL. Our instructor was awesome and great at keeping us motivated and focused. I think my only issue is that the music was so loud that I struggled to hear her instructions some times!! But most people seemed to catch it so maybe I was just too new. The staff overall were super awesome. They greeted me, helped me figure out my bike, my spin shoes, and essentially walked me through every step of the process (which was soooo helpful). They have handy lockers to store your gear in and everything there is super clean and fancy. I really enjoyed my spin class!! I look forward to eventually coming back and trying them out again!

Another stop in my ClassPass adventures! This time, it led me to Cyclebar in Uptown - a spot I've passed countless times but never been inside. Time to change that! I'm a Peloton gal, but I'm itching to get back into in-person classes. This spot is in the heart of Uptown so there's only paid street parking and a paid lot nearby, so that can be tricky. The moment I stepped inside, I was warmly welcomed by the two front desk staff: they got me checked in and showed me around. They got me cycling shoes (I think most people use the studio shoes but you can bring your own!) and a complimentary water bottle for it being my first time. There is a locker area with code locks - no key or lock needed! They also have a few bathrooms and a water filling station. There's not a locker room, so I changed in the restroom. Next, I went into the studio and met the instructor: she chatted with me about my precious cycling experience and told me a bit about the bikes. They're definitely different than Peloton bikes : it's power assist, and the metrics screen is more simplistic. The instructor warned me that Cyclebar is much more out-of-seat work than Peloton and I appreciated the heads up! Each bike is adjustable and has a towel on it for use. The class itself was electric: the lights dim and colored lights come on, the instructor was super high energy with a bangin' playlist and changing lights. I felt like I was at a cycling concert! It was a loooot of out-of-seat work which isn't my fav, but it was a dang good workout. We did a bit of arms at the end with a weight bar on the bike, and everyone was wiped by the end. The staff all came over to chat with me at the end and hear what I thought. They also have a new student discount they offer. I'm not sure the out-of-seat style is for me, but it was an awesome workout with great staff and a clean, cool studio!

Very nice place, clean and friendly. Danielle hooked me up with the new rider 1 week unlimited package (killer deal!). It's nice they allow you to do this when you're an out of town-we away from your normal cycle bar. The instructor tonight was great - full of energy and movement. Parking garage right next to it is free for 2 hours. I love the location too, walking distance from some neat restaurants.

I'm so excited CycleBar came to Uptown! I took a few classes during their free week, and decided to sign up for a ride package. I've currently taken about 10 classes since they opened, and they've all been great (and challenging). The 50-minute classes are led by high-energy instructors to great music, so the time goes by very fast! You can sign up for your bike ahead of time online, borrow shoes from the studio, and your class statistics are sent to you after your ride. There are lockers and also a few showers available for use. Prices for classes are a little steep, but they do some promotional packages that make them a little more reasonable. Currently, they are in the middle of a 10-10-10 challenge, which means you buy 10 classes, go 10 times within 3 weeks, and then you get 10 classes free! If you are new to spinning or CycleBar, they also offer a free 30-minute introduction session (I think currently on Tuesdays and Saturdays?). Overall, in my opinion, CycleBar is a great addition to the neighborhood! I only wish they had midday classes in addition to the morning and evening options.

The class itself was fantastic - high energy, good music, and had a great instructor, Jean, who was encouraging and fun.

Specialized classes seemed fun, but I was always nervous I'd be the slowest and weakest, and not be able to catch up. I joined orangetheory about a year ago, and I've absolutely loved going 4 times a month! It allows you to customize your workout to your abilities and pace, and I never feel I'm behind or being judged. In fact - Ive seen a HUGE improvement on my fitness overall! I can run longer, lift heavier and be more confident in the gym. The uptown location is my favorite, with friendly desk staff + fun and challenging coaches. Neesh is my favorite coach, but all coaches are welcoming and helpful. If you're a little more shy like me, you also don't need to have an OTF tracker (showing your progress on a big screen) - I just use my Fitbit and I've never been shamed or pressured into buying a tracker! Overall, recommend orangetheory - especially at the Uptown location!

They don't have any monitors on the tread or the rowers. I had been under the impression that the treads should all be updated in all studios. It makes it harder to pay attention to where you are at since you need to look up at the top screens to see your zone, which in some instances is right ontop of you. The staff is really hit or miss. There are some that are great, and some that seem passive. They have parking in the back, which is nice, but it does fill up. The lot is partially shared with Red Cow.

I used to go here years ago, and have now had to return due to closure of (yet another) LA Fitness…read morethat's closer to me. They do have new equipment and a remodeled interior, which is what I'm commenting on. Their new layout majorly sucks. The machines, such as stairs, treadmill, elliptical, are lined up directly behind the stationary bicycles, which are, in turn, lined up against the floor mats for stretching. I haaate seeing all these sketchy dudes pretending to use the stationery bikes while instead they ogle the women stretching. It's just so transparently disgusting, I thought we were past this in 2026. I miss how the stretching area used to be tucked in the corner and not on display for the entire gym. The last thing I want to do is lay on the floor in the middle of a fishbowl, while getting into different poses. I should just take photos of the oglers and upload them here, since management doesn't seem to care if guys take photos. As far as the other patrons. There's a group of guys in the back and use the place like their personal circuit training, they all rotate weight stations in the back so no one else can use them. And I just love when people are yakking on their cell phones. And PS, why are there so many people working out in street clothes? I thought there was a dress code? I notice how there's a bunch of 5 star reviews with no actual comments and a "thank you" from the manager. No responses on any review that isn't glowing. Usually a sign of manufactured reviews to skew the rating up. just sayin

Even at the busy times of the day, it does not feel too full in there and there is almost some machine to use. There are a bunch of cardio machines and they got a bunch of new stairmasters (finally). This is one the the LA Fitness locations that seems to have consistent staff, and I really appreciate that for the customer service aspect. I go out of my way to attend this LA fitness!
