She was great and knowledgeable. Forward to today, I was pleasantly surprised to run into her as the owner of Bamboo Advanced Beauty College. I am looking for an advanced nail course since I got my nail license and haven't used it. The owner offered me a 10 week course three days a week from 10 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. for $2700K which includes my kit. I believe this is a great deal! When you walk into the school you'll see rows of manicuring tables and on the sides cosmetology chairs. Towards the back is skincare which features several tables for facials. Located at the end of the strip center there seems to be plenty of parking on the side of the strip center. I look forward to my adventure with Bamboo and can't wait to get started!

Current student going through the program and may change rating based on ongoing experience…read more I started the program about 2-3 weeks ago, mainly because they recently began offering weekend classes, which worked well for me since I have a demanding full-time job. So far, unfortunately, my experience has not been great. I'm not sure if it's because the hybrid/online model is still new for them, but it really feels like they don't have the process fully organized yet. Most of the issues come down to lack of communication and unclear expectations for online students. Once I paid my deposit, I wasn't really guided through the next steps. I was briefly shown the portal we use for coursework (CIMA) and told to download WhatsApp because that's how we communicate with instructors. Beyond that, I pretty much had to figure things out on my own. I even had to personally ask questions in the group chat because I was confused, and it turned out several other students felt the same way. Eventually we found out there's an orientation every Monday, but nobody clearly explained that upfront. The virtual learning environment has also been frustrating. During online sessions, chats are muted and virtual students can't really ask questions because the instructors are focused on the in-person class. That honestly makes no sense to me considering online students are paying the same tuition as in-person students. It feels like the virtual students are an afterthought. Even submitting homework has been confusing. We use Dropbox, but I was basically just told to "download Dropbox" and had to dig through old chat messages to find the actual submission links and instructions. At this point, I honestly feel unclear every step of the way. I spend more time trying to figure out logistics, apps, links, and expectations than actually focusing on learning. The frustrating part is that these seem like very simple organizational issues that could easily be improved with clearer communication and better onboarding for online students. I'm still early in the program, so I hope things improve over time, and I'm open to updating my review if my experience changes.

Then the lady who did my hair, I asked her if she was a teacher or student, she said she was a student, but now she's a teacher, i thought her skill would be good. It turned out not good at all, and the guy who also worked that shift had to fix it again, which took even longer. The way that lady works made me kinda angry! When i go to hairdresser, i don't know much about the hair type so i just expect them to make it pretty. The lady asked me a hundred questions and still made it bad. I said i want layers, and a bang that has layers too. That's it, i said like that to every hairdresser i have been to and they all did great, they didn't ask me a hundred questions! So she cut a bang for me, i mean i don't know about it much but just from the look it looks very weird! Anyways i don't want to write it long but in the end, the guy had to fix everything from the cut to the styling. I have to give him compliments on his patience, he had to do 3 hairs at the same time! About that lady, whenever that guy told her not to do like this and that, and she said because i requested it?! I didn't have the preference picture at first but later i pulled out and i said i want to make it look like this. It was a pretty basic long-layered cut. She did look at it and still did it wrong. Both the cut and styling went bad. She needs to stop saying "because i requested it" and improve her skills. The guy who works on the same shift was good. Sorry, I don't know the name but you can check who works at that shift. In general, not a happy experience!

After researching several esthetics schools in the Bay Area, Cosmotek stood out for its hybrid format, affordability, and supportive learning environment. The flexibility allowed me to complete the program while continuing to work full-time--something that would have been difficult with many other schools. I also appreciated the opportunity to work with clients in the spa rooms, which provided valuable hands-on experience and helped build confidence performing services. A special thank you to Devin, Huong, Binh, Emma, and Kosal, who were incredibly supportive throughout my time there. While these were the staff members I interacted with most, all of the instructors and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in student success. The last four months were a blast. I learned so much, met great people, and felt well-prepared for my licensing exam. I would highly recommend Cosmotek to anyone looking for a flexible and affordable esthetics program.
