Some people and places come into your life for a reason. We had a good feeling about Cyndi's from the beginning. From the moment we rolled in, we relaxed our breath into the cradling caring arms of Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Natural darkness descending around us- Robert was quick to invite us into the warmly lit communal lodge area, which was brimming with personality. He showed us a fun silverware balancing bar trick, while Lucky the dog, looked on with heavy lidded amusement. We were the only ones staying at the lodge that night. Our room was darling and clean and smelled fresh. The wi-fi was working well. We slept unbelievably well. Showering was a dream in the morning with strong hot water pressure. Cindi brought us up fresh squeezed orange juice and invited us down for a hot lovingly made breakfast spread - which included hot waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and light potatoes. We also indulged in wondrous coffee and an impressive selection of tea. Cindy even had Pink Himalayan Salt on hand for us to adorn our food - which we indulged in both there and on our backpacking adventure. Cyndi and the rest of the loving folk who help run this charming lodge take immense care and pride in making sure that all those who stay here feel welcomed and taken care of. They go out of their way to make everyone's stay both memorable and comfortable. We can't wait to come back to Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Trust. read more

The owner Al is a nice guy and it's much, much, much cheaper than staying within the park - if you don't have any private property inside park, or don't feel like camping. For the price, you will get a great room (ask for all available to discuss, before making a decision) and you're as close to the park without going inside that it gets, for somewhere to stay. There has been a "For Sale, or Lease" banner out front for at least two years now, but don't let this detour you: it is a nice place and I bet would be a great place to purchase for yourself (as the banner offers), but asking price is probably (I am just guessing) too high for the current market. I would love to buy this place and keep it private for myself, but that's not in my budget at this time ... read more

This place is the bomb! When arriving for our one night stay we have to admit that the outside looked a bit rustic, but after taking a closer look we realized it was filled with nothing but character and charm. The rooms are comfy and cozy! We had waffles in the morning and chatted with the nice staff and owners. This places is a diamond in the rough. After spending half a day in Sequoia National Park, I had two choices: go out the south entrance and get a place in Three Rivers, or try my hand at night driving on a winding mountain road and go out the north/King's Canyon entrance and find a room there. Well, the NPS was doing some crazy road work between where I was and the south entrance, so I decided to go north. The winding road was actually way better than the winding road to the south, anyway, and the lady at the north entrance told me that 7 miles down the road, I'd come to the Snow Line Lodge. She lied. It was 8 miles. The room they had available wasn't quite ready, so Robert prepared me dinner and I chatted for a couple hours with some of the other guests. The house dog, Lucky, is super friendly and the house cat tried to come into my room! I stayed in the cabin at the back of the property, which was pretty fun because I was by myself and had 4 beds to choose from! Everything was clean and the room was quirky (I've posted a photo) and warm. The only issue is that the wireless doesn't reach the cabin, so I had to walk down to the lodge, but it was a nice excuse to hang out and chat with the various staff, who are all the friendliest people ever. I had such a great time the first night and morning (waffles for breakfast!) that I extended my stay for a second (and my last) night. If you're looking for a super friendly place with lots of character, cute animals, and a communal atmosphere, this is the perfect place. Totally my favorite kind of place to stay on a road trip! Snow Line Lodge is the best :) I hope I get to come back to Sequoia/King's Canyon again, not in small part so I have an excuse to stay at Snow Line Lodge! read more

WOW! I literally cannot say enough good things about this place. Don't worry at all about what you might think of the outside appearance (looks rustic)--the inside and the people are both fantastic! This place is run by a couple named Cyndi and Jeff (and their friend Robert helps out as well). It is excellently maintained and has a wonderful "out in the woods but warm and cozy" feeling. We called Snowline Lodge in the early evening inquiring about a same day stay for two, and Jeff very politely told us that there were currently no openings, but he said a few people who had reserved rooms were unsure if they would make it, and he would give us a call back if they decided not to come. Sure enough, Jeff called back and offered us a wonderful lodge room for $75 for one night (including great waffles and coffee in the morning made by Robert--an awesome guy with a delightful dog named Lucky). The room was more than we could ask for. King bed, EXCELLENT heater which you can control with a small slide switch, small desk for work, WiFi that was amazingly good enough to plan our whole trip, and a very suitable bathroom/shower with great warm water. The whole room was VERY clean and comfortable. If you are heading to the Giant Sequoias or anywhere near there, this place is very close and VERY good (especially for $75!!!) stay here!!! p.s. They accept credit cards as well as cash p.p.s. Pet their sweet black cat, the dog lucky, and talk with the wonderful owners/staff--you will have a great time! read more

A friend and I made last minute plans to visit sequoia/kings canyon for Memorial Day. We wanted access to both parks and saw that Cyndi's was in a perfect location. Luckily they had a room available for us. On our way up, we decided to explore sequoia before checking in. After a few hours in the park, it was getting late so we decided to make our way to the hotel. We called to see if there were any restaurants nearby or if we should look for something closer to where we were. Cyndi answered the phone and offered to call all of the places in town to see what was open for us! That was just the first example of many of how Cyndi and her staff treated us like family during our stay. Cyndi and Robert hung out with us while we were at the hotel. They were both very entertaining and kept us laughing. Robert even pulled out some magic tricks for us! If you're looking to stay in the ritz Carlton, you may want to look elsewhere. If you want a place at a perfect location for access to sequoia and kings canyon national park and with some of the friendliest people on earth, I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Me & my husband were so overjoyed to see this place hands down it is by far the best little place we have been to..we went to motel 6 up in big bear & it was nothing compared to this place that doesn't have that brand name omg we fell in love with everyone Robert & especially lucky these two are the best receptionist ever!!!! It has the homey feeling!!! Handmade quits, color design towels (not like plain hotel ones) teddy bears everything & it makes you feel like your in an old western sometimes when it comes to the old piano in the check in room with the oldie women on top of it love love love it!!! read more

We were on a 2k+ miles improvised road trip thru major California National Parks and hit Sequoia NP. Lost our sleeping bags a few days earlier so couldn't camp out. We were recommended by a ranger to stop at the Snow Line and that we will not regret it... This place is phenomenal! Indeed, looks old and rustic but it has amazing atmosphere and vibe thanks to that! The room we got was super cute and clean. Same our friends. They were touched by a teddy bear left on their bed :) In the morning you will get super good breakfast w/handmade waffles. The guys who run the place are very nice and sweet. Also, there's *NO* checkout time! ;) PS. You can grab a marker and put your name on the white wall to complement all international graffiti and tags! read more

Cozy, clean & super friendly inn. Cindy, Jeff & Robert run a quaint lodge about 8 miles out of the park gate. Free breakfast waffles & coffee & a bevy of international guests. I was here for one night, this place is wonderful. Our room looked like a B&B room. It was a king bed, really just two twins put together. It was comfortable, I was told by setting the beds up this way should people want to stay in the same room but not be in the same bed they can easily split it up into two twin beds. The shower is just a shower, not a tub. The next morning we went downstairs and there were two place settings for us. We had waffles, watermelon, coffee and tea. I can't say enough about the Snowline Lodge, it's just a nice comfy place, wouldn't hesitate to stay again. read more

This is the coziest, most charming little hotel you can find in the Sequoia region. The staff is warm and considerate. Every guest is treated with respect and dignity. The rooms are furnished with a Victorian bed and breakfast individuality. The bathrooms are bright, fresh and impeccably well kept. The morning waffles are fragrant and sumptuous, a great start to a rich day in the grand forest area. My fiance and I had a delightful time chatting the next morning with guests and staff who became quick friends. We hope to visit next year too. read more

Friendly and understanding staff. I really wish business picks up at this place. That said, the property needs complete renovation. While driving on 180E surrounded by beautiful mountains and scenery we got very excited when the GPS said the location is 0.1 miles. When we arrived at the location, my first reaction was complete shock! There were lot of junk, hardly anyone around, rustic items, dusty furnitures, windows that won't make you want to look inside. Since there was no one around and not daring to open the door, we called the telephone number and then later a guy (I believe it is Jeff?) greeted us. He took us upstairs to show the room and there were 4 rooms with a common porch and a hallway. For some reason, the dull lights made me feel not to stay over. I didn't inspect bedding but the bathrooms were clean with sample toiletries. One of the rooms has small TV with built-in video tape player. Other room didn't have it. They do not have a running bar yet as they are waiting for license and the whole place needs some lighting to make it not look creepier. Pros: 8 miles West of Kings Canyon Park, understanding staff Cons: The property had a scary outlook, didn't feel quite safe looking around, needs lot of renovation. read more

I loved this place... 5 of us stopped here for an overnight stay before heading into Kings Canyon for 2 nites of backpacking. We had car trouble... got in late, after 10pm. We hadn't had dinner, and we were stressed about getting one of our cars fixed in the a.m., while still trying to make our long planned backpacking excursion. We were in a pickle. But Cindy and Jeff whipped up some rollers, sliders and mac and cheese... with a few coronas to go with it. Food never tasted so good. They built us a nice campfire (i think we were burning the side of someone's old barn), and had a nice evening. We stashed some of our gear there, and on the way back, we stopped into the quirky living area, complete with upright piano topped with hussie/fluzie mannequin, and after two days/nights on the trail, beer never tasted so good. (recurring theme) The brick facade is covered with handwritten words of praise and thanks for Cindy et al... Well deserved. I hope to be back on another trip. read more

This place is a great choice of accommodation if you're wanting to check out Kings canyon/sequoia. It is 15 min from the big stump entrance. Cindy was so kind and accommodating, not once did we feel uncomfortable here. It honestly felt like home. Cindy put on coffee every morning. There is a large common area downstairs with a fridge and a microwave. All in all, I will certainly be coming back here if I am in the area again. Thank you Cindy!!!! read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the lodge for christmas and we had such a FUN time! The location is ideal for exploring the Sequioas and Robert and Jeff are just hilarious and made us feel right at home. The lodge has a hostel meets bed and breakfast meets mountain retreat vibe. The decor is funky in western saloon meets victorian hotel charm with a fun common room to hang out and eat in. The rooms are equally as kitch AND very clean. Robert even cooked us christmas dinner and breakfast the next day! The hospitality was just something you don't see much of these days. We even meet some other travelers and had a nice little Christmas eve celebration! This place is just classic.. If you are not into staying at boring, overpriced, characterless hotels STAY HERE. You will find the opposite and an adventure! read more

Was here about a week ago. Eclectic theme that brought you back to the 80s. When I say 80s I mean a tv with vhs player in the room with great old movies. A lot cheaper than staying in kings canyon itself. Great funky theme to the check in bar/saloon and excellent complimentary waffles in the morning. Great staff. Highly recommended! read more

I absolutely loved staying here. That people who run this lodge are so incredibly friendly and just genuinely nice people. The manager has even taken in a sweet dog, Lucky, whose owners were horrible enough to leave it on the highway as bear food. But that's neither here nor there. The rooms are small but are all that I needed during my stay at Sequoia/Kings Canyon. The beds were comfortable, sheets and towels were clean, the shower was hot, and the room itself was clean and quaint. The walls are a bit thin but the other guests were relatively respectful of the other guests. Waffles and coffee were available for breakfast. I heard it was good home cooked food but even though it was available as early as I left in the morning, I didn't take the time to chow down. I would stay here again without a doubt. In retrospect, one of the lessons learned on this road trip would have been to spend another night here instead of driving all the way to Three Rivers for the next night. I hope I'll be able to stay here again some time. I would recommend this lodge to my friends without reservations. It was cute enough that my high end sister might even be able to appreciate it, but I'd have to give her the run down ahead of time so she wasn't expecting a 5-star luxury hotel. All in all, I was sorry to go and wished I could've enjoyed the lodge longer. read more

I picked out this place because reviews say "good waffle breakfast" I was prepared for this cabin bldg to be old because reviews said it. I called and confirmed with the owner my arrival time and when we arrived at 6 pm but the room was not ready, we waited maybe 45 minutes, The room is small and very hot, there is no AC in the room but a fan outside was used to blow the heat out, there is a ceiling fan in my room and other rooms have electric fans, our room was very cleaned, only one outlet we can use, very small bathroom, can't fit two people. If you sit outside there are a lot of flies and other bugs especially at night. The next day I was excited about breakfast but at 7.03 am, there was no one in the office but darkness and so I called the number outside and the owner said "I am on the way" then minutes passed till it was almost 8 am and we needed to go early to Kings Canyon, so we decided to just not eat breakfast, when the owner finally came, he asked if we wanted breakfast but I just said "It's ok we waited" and he said he was sorry because he was running late..but that's something he can't excuse himself because we paid for the room and expected a service on time. In front of the building is okay but the sides and the back is like I was in the a third world country..they can use some cleaning to make it look like a lodge, and their office needs more lightning. I was not expecting a lot about the building but they failed me on breakfast and checking in.... read more

I wanted to write this review to in part to thank Cindy, Robert, and Jeff, the staff at Snowline and also in part to dispel the negative reviews that might keep others from taking in the experience of being at the lodge. Ownership has changed and the new owners are fantastic. They took us in and set us up in their biggest room. I had no idea what to expect, it being our first time at a lodge. The room had four beds, which was perfect because there were 7 of us. The weather in the Sequioia Forest got bad quickly and we needed somewhere warm to stay. The lodge is right outside the park, and the hospitality was second to none. The staff accommodated our needs. We asked if we could use our grill to cook and they allowed us to cook on their porch. They brought us everything we asked for and then some. Jeff even made German chocolate cake when we asked of there was any dessert in the kitchen. We ended up having it for breakfast the next morning along with the complimentary waffles and coffee which are served at 7:30 am. The staff was friendly and took really good care of us. Robert even showed my two sons their sheep and let them pet it. The boys were ecstatic! Anyway, I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a great place to stay near the national park. We stopped by here because of its close proximity to Sequoia and Kings Canyon nat'l parks. Also, many good reviews on Yelp. I have to say the place is charming and cute, with a very small town vibe. The guy who helped us was very nice and showed us to our room. Rooms are small, no tv and thin walls, but this place is pretty much the only thing around. One creepy factor is the mannequin in the lobby/bar area, a little Bates Motel-ish. However, the homemade waffles in the morning was a great touch. read more

We had a party of 8 using 3 rooms the past 2 nights. Cindy was away but we were hosted by jeff. Jeff is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet. A great host that makes you feel like family. Since we left my 11 and 12 year Olds say they want to go back and see jeff and lucky the dog. My 21 year old (who never says anything about a place ) said Jeff is really an awesome guy and if we ever return to sequoia we must stay there again. My wife and in laws (which like city things - and this place is very country) loved the place as well. Everything clean and well kept for an older facility.
