I wasn't waiting for long in the waiting room and Dr. Berke was very personable. She basically told me to ditch everything I was using and placed me on a new regimen for my oily skin. (I had actually wrongly thought I had normal skin this entire time). Within 2 weeks I saw a major difference in my skin. 4 weeks later, it was like I had completely different skin. No more breakouts. It has been almost 6 months since my initial appointment and my skin remains amazing and unblemished. I've since seen her for laser hair removal. She couldn't even identify exactly what was on my son skin, she read off notes from what my sons pcp doctor wrote.Now my son pcp at pediatric associates referred my son to Dr. Burke the woman and the 2 times we went I wish we didn't.The woman doctor Mrs.Burke who is supposed to be the dermatologist was so unprofessional, impatient, rude, and very off putting! I kept asking her questions out of concern since this was for my nine-year-old son, who was also scared of the options that the doctor was advising the one she did decided to do causes blisters and is supposed to eat at my son's skin tissue to remove the molluscm (very painful option) It didn't work at all the bumps came back and she told me that it would go away, before we even got to the part where she applied the canthorin on the 2nd visit. the first visit was horrible she didn't want to answer any of my questions as i was persistent trying to understand how these bumps were going to be removed from my son skin since they are highly contagious. she kept ignoring me and wrote a prescription for triamcinolone to apply to his face area for 10 days at night now the doctor never said to apply it rubbing it in like lotion or to spot apply it around the contagious bumps i asked her what would this outcome be she never explained. so I just winged it out and trusted her out of desperation and just applied it like lotion on his face and body as I did that for 4 days I started to see more bumps come on his skin I panicked went on google for answers as to why more are appearing and I called the doctor she wasn't available she did call me back and just said to stop using it as I screamed letting her know it's her fault because she didn't give me clear instruction. on the 2nd visit that's when she applied the medication that causes the blister to apparently burn at the skin to remove the molluscum and she wanted to follow up in 13 days. I called the office and cancelled the appointment as her solution was useless it didn't do nothing but scar my son skin and the bumps came back this doctor is not honest and rather waste your time experimenting on kids skin everytime I went to take my son each visit I had to pay a co payment of $30 dollars it's a lot of money to me because I'm currently unemployed and it adds up quickly.I'm now back at square one searching for a new doctor that would be able to treat my son and properly educate me on this skin rash my son has so that way I can keep everyone else in my household from catching it. this skin contagious mollusucm is driving me crazy since it's so contagious and the bumps are ugly along with the new scars he got thanks to this stupid doctor!!!! btw she is so old she needs to retire her breath smelled so stank as well!!!! I called inquiring for an appointment and the lady I spoke with at their office was very short on the phone and rude and said they were taking appointments for new clients, but there was a four week wait, and I needed to fill out some form and provide my credit card to secure the appointment. Their policy sounded a little strange (along with the wait time) as I have been to other dermatologists in the Miami area who didn't have that long of a wait time and I've never needed to provide a credit card to secure the appointment. I told the employee that I needed to think about it and she said ok and just hung up on me. I thought the whole exchange was very rude and degrading. To compare, I called another dermatologist office in Hollywood and was treated with respect, booked an appointment on a Saturday two weeks out, and was treated like royalty when I got into the office. I'm glad I found another dermatologist office that treats customers better.
