5 stars for accessibility to the public. I am always on the search for public tracks and have been meaning to stop by. When I used to work closer to LA, this was out of the way, but now that work is closer, I had to just stop by to check it out. Parking - located on both streets (pay attention to no parking signs) Surface- asphalt, second best to rubber tracks. (Slight negative: didn't really like the random rocks that magically slip into your shoes but that is probably a me thing, and not a you thing.) A year later and I am still on these tracks couple times a week! I really appreciate that they leave it open to the public. I will say parking can get quite busy (the only parking I know is the street parking), but the tracks are never too crowded. I see many runners practicing track workouts, as well as casual walkers enjoying a nice stroll. And everyone seems very pleasant. Plenty of room for all to get their workout in, whatever that may be for their day. read more

This is a very well kept, clean track. Parking can be a little tricky depending on what time u arrive. It is at Cypress college so parking is better for street parking to avoid towing/ticketing. So far the restrooms are open bright and early. read more

I definitely enjoyed running and or walking here. Everyone was in their own space mentally. But it felt great to be among everyone else getting out there and being physical. Yes parking can be tough but people don't stay too long on the track and eventually parking frees up. I go after 6 when it's a bit dark and colder. I enjoy that most. read more

I stopped by Cypress College tonight to walk and jog around their running track. I was able to find street parking on Holder so I was fortunate. The running track is nice, it in great condition and has no cracks. They have about 9 running lanes so you'll likely have room to do your cardio. When I came here, there were other people walking or jogging as well. The bathroom is right next to the track too between the tennis court. They have lights as well so I think they turn it on when it gets dark. read more

I walk around the place a lot. It's a pretty good place to walk. It's not too crowded unless it's on days where they're hosting sports stuff. I don't mind them. I just like a place to walk. read more

I'am be honest when i first saw the track last week I always thought hmm this is a great opportunity to walk around the track to burn some calories and lose weight that is left in my body, and I also have noticed that there's people who are walking around the track who are just trying to get into shape and get their health in good form but I have decided to walk the track last week because i have also noticed that the whole neighborhood of cypress is super cool and chill and also peaceful while walking in a track i highly recommend walking around the track for whoever wants to lose weight and to get in shape as well because it's a great spot to walk around and enjoy it all while we still can. read more

Does anybody know the actual distance of the track? It says 1.1 mile but that's way too short for that circle. how many laps equate to a mile? Yelp challenge 2015 203/365 Cypress running track located on Orange ave at Cypress College. Offering a pretty good workout for all fitness levels. Walk, jog, run, do what you want. This place is always busy during the weekday early evening hours . All walks of life can be found here. Your lesuirely walker, to your man on a missioner, and everyone in between. Most of the locals here are nice and offer a smile, nod and a "hello". Parking is tricky. I would rather just warm up by walking here, then cool down walking home. Saves time for looking for a spot. Cypress College Running Track - Race Tracks Near Me - Cypress, California

This track is the best track I've ran on! The track is rarely crowded and the floor is great for your legs/knees! There's also a huge grassy area that will accommodate other workouts like calisthenics I.e. bear crawls, burpees, jumping jacks! A definite must train site! As said, Cypress College Running Track is an awesome spot to get your run on! Set as a quarter mile track, it is well groomed, clean, and easy on your feet. The track itself contains 8 different lines with solid curved to straight portion making it great for distance runners or sprinters. As far as I know there is no parking fee and street parking is pretty readily available. On the area are two benches and plenty of open spaces for yoga and stretching. There is enough space to use headphones or play music out loud with no distractions. I have never been here when it was packed, I'm assuming it can support a large amount of people. Since I live only a block from the track, I try to come here at least 3-4 times a week. My friends usually run in the morning, but I cannot wake up at the time, so I often go in the afternoon around 6 or 7. The track is really packed around 7, so if you do not want to run into people, I suggest going in the morning. I do not mind running when there are a lot of people around because what is the point of exercising if no one is watching you. (jk) Besides from running, there are also tennis courts right next to the track. A few years back, it was pretty difficult getting a court. I remembered waiting outside for 30-40 minutes for someone to leave. Now, it is pretty dead so there is no problem of getting a court. read more

I've been running on this track for years now, and I would say it has been a great way to relieve my stressfulness and some fats too. I mostly come here at night so it's never crowded.It's not too far from my place that I don't need to ride coming here- it's like couple of blocks away, I actually can see the college's campanile from my house. The track has 8 lanes and one extra on the side. I mostly choose the first lane. There is a great diversity of people coming here who do jogging, serious running, and walking. I like that there's an accessible bathroom near to this track, and it's well maintained. Walk, jog, run. read more

I like that rubberized track. Did my best running on it in my late 20s. Met my future wife on that same track.

I work out at the Cypress College Gym and when I can, I run on the track instead on the treadmill. Why not? This rubberized track is not super busy, always have free parking on Holder, has bathrooms near by the tennis courts, and everyone for the most part knows that runners go on the inside. The entrance of the track can be found on the corner of the fence on holder or by the tennis court next to the single bleacher. If you do come here, make sure you come here to do some exercise and not be talking on the phone the whole time. read more

PARKING 2/4 If you live far enough that you must drive, know that street parking is extremely limited in the early hours of the morning/day and again in the evening. Lot parking is available for $2 for 24 hours, this is the only option as a non-student. Students may purchase a semester parking pass for $40. *NOTE-parking is at capacity during the first week, of each new semester. Some students avoid paying for parking and park near the track, in other words, parking is always an issue. Walk here, isn't the track the for the purpose of exercise? ;) TRACK 4/5 Even when parking is completely full, the track itself has plenty of room for your walking, running, and jogging needs. The track itself is made of a compound of recycled tires (sign is on the NW fence surrounding the track, at the entrance), this makes the track the best around for shins and joints!! Area 4/5 The grass, track, and surroundings could be kept up a bit nicer, a bit cleaner, at a minimum expense. I used this track to train for a half marathon. I've been here in the morning, in the evening, and even after sunset. As a girl, what's most notable is that I feel safe when I run here. Even at night (9:30-10:30 at the latest). There are always people on the track and it's wide enough to where it's not troublesome even if the track is crowded. The only downside is that I wished they turned on the lights at night. Sometimes you're running in the dark, but again this neighborhood is pretty safe. However, it's safe to note that you should always be aware of your surroundings. The parking is at the street, a less than a minute walk to the track. Parking is usually available 97%. But the other 3% I usually have to park across the street, which still takes about a minuet to get to the track. The track itself has a lot of cushion so it takes away the impact on your knees. Also there are areas on the side where it trails off. I usually do push-ups or sit-ups there. Moreover, the people who go here are great. I remember my first time running here I was a little self conscious because I sucked. But I never felt judged and there are a variety of people from super fit to people who are just starting their fitness goal. It's really a great inspiration to see people out and about despite what level of fitness your in. read more

Plenty of parking on the street, even during late weekday afternoons. Bathroom and drinking fountain available near the tennis courts. Track is wide and spacious and is marked with racing lines. Ground is made up of what looks like black concrete but is more of what feels like firm rubber. read more

Fun track to run jog or walk it's always pretty safe with regulars most of the time. It's also cool that it's padded and easy on your knees and feet. There are restrooms near by and if you're into tennis they have a few courts next door. read more

It's a good place to clear your mind. I like running here before the AM shift at my job, just to get the blood pumping. Well-kept and clean. It would be nice if there was an option to buy parking in advance instead of going over to the machines. read more

Running on a track can get quite boring, but independent of that, the Cypress College Track meets any runner's basic needs. Recycled tires make up the track, which your knees will thank you for. Four laps make a mile and though it does get repetitive rather quickly, it's a solid starting point. The surrounding area is grass, and lots of it, which is ideal for warming up, stretching, or miscellaneous strength exercises. In this vicinity, I can't think of any other track, so this definitely fits the bill and does the job. read more

Not much to it, Cypress track. Next to the track are some tennis courts and it almost always seems empty nowadays. You're permitted to park on the side with no signs, but those spots are almost always full. You're next option is to park on the other side, but you will find signs indicating the times allowed to park. I've parked at holder before with no problems but don't take my word for it. People love to come here around 6 to 7 p.m. I don't like to come around those hours and my only reasons for going at those times would be because it's getting hotter or to tag along with a friend. I enjoy trying to be an early bird and so the earliest that I try to go here is 7 to 8:30 a.m. In the morning you will not find many people and I prefer it that way. Unless you don't mind people crowding your lanes then go ahead and go later, plus it'll be easier due to less heat. Even though it gets crowded people are well-mannered, my friend was worried that his Hydro Flask might be taken if he were to settle down while he ran. I told him to not worry and sure enough nothing to worry about. read more
