However when I went out to reception to go through pricing, I stated twice I only wanted to go with options covered by insurance and she continued to push me towards paying for services out of pocket which were about $2,500. She said well the options covered by insurance will only improve your condition by 20% so I said ok then why would I get both those prescriptions. So I opted to get a second opinion. I also went to get glasses a week prior and after hearing the $270 total after insurance I decided to look elsewhere and found better brand frames with the same features for only $140 at Premier Vision who took $175 off with my same insurance, this office only took $100 off as stated by a different employee. Premier Vision also gives you 20% off and $25 off if you follow their socials. Just feels like this office is trying to take your money instead of working with you.

First, they try to sell you on this additional dilation exam for an extra like $50-60 that is cash pay only. I kept pushing the issue and wasn't told until the optometrist came in (my third point of contact during my visit) that I was told that there is an option to have the test done and that insurance DOES cover it, but you have to get eye drops instead of the other method. Different process, same results...ones free and one isn't. I don't like it when businesses do things like this. Give me my options up front and let me decide. Secondly, I don't like the fact that they deal with patients eyes without gloves. This is extremely unsanitary and I was grossed out when the tech that administered my eye drops had long fake nails and touched my face/eye lids with no gloves. And I was more shocked that the doctor came in and did the same. They did both get a squirt of hand sanitizer, however THAT IS NOT ENOUGH when dealing with someone's body, especially EYES. I am also in the wellness field and I would never disrespect myself or clients by not wearing gloves. I get that it is an additional expense to purchase so many gloves, however passing norovirus or RSV is also expensive. Almost all the techs had long fake nails and no gloves in sight. I appreciated that as I could see they were not taking any risks. The staff was very patient and kind to my daughter who is pretty hyper. The doctors were also very patient and both doctors met with my kid because of her condition. I felt like they really cared and were genuinely good doctors who didn't rush us out the door. Also, we were not rushed or pressured to get all the add ons for the lenses. It was more of an option and they had exactly what insurance would cover and how much so I could make a decision. The glasses will be done in 5-10 business days. I did ask if we could try to rush it and they said they would definitely try.
