The golf course features a handful of holes on the back nine on a giant lake with very nice scenery. The course was very well maintained and was in excellent shape. The tee boxes were superb, the fairways were lush and full of grass, and the greens rolled perfectly. Around the greens were manicured neatly and the course had no flaws whatsoever. Hats off to the superintendent. The layout really fit my eye with some challenging driving holes calling for different shot shapes throughout the round. The greens were a good size, although being precise with your approach shots is the key to shooting a good score here. The greens have plenty of slope to them, so it's crucial not only to hit the green, but to knock it somewhat close to the flagstick. At just over 7,000 yards from the tips, the golf course can play long, especially with a little bit of wind, which is fun, yet also challenging. My favorite thing about the Country Club of Winter Haven is that you really don't feel like you're in Florida. It's very quiet and peaceful on the course and the birds chirping are about all that you hear. If you have the opportunity to play a round of golf here, you won't be disappointed.

This is an old course and was designed in 1923 but has had improvements and changes to holes to keep it updated and challenging. You can tell from the putting green that they were rolling fast and furious! The range was not big but enough to serve it purpose. Chipping area with bunkers helped the warm up session. Tee boxes were in very good shape so it was easy to get a good set up on every tee shot. The fairways were immaculate and the rough was kind short so it was forgiving if you were not straight. Bunkers were all in perfect shape and raked to perfection. There was always at least one side of the hole that had an out of bounds so you had to have some accuracy. Decent amount of water on the course too so it kept you honest! The silver lining to this course is the greens though. The surface was immaculate with no discoloration or any weeds anywhere. The stimp meter was high and the ball was rolling fast and true. While they didn't seem like they were too challenging they also had a sneaky undulation to them so there wasn't one flat green! This is definitely a course to play if you get a chance!

Because it wasn't too challenging or easy...it was middle of the road. There were adequate bunker and water hazards, but not overkill. There are also some holes that challenge your long irons as well as others where you're short game comes into play. I had to use every club in my bag. Played in the TopBuild Habitat for Humanity Golf Classic, great group, even better golfers! This course is challenging and made the good cause even more enjoyable. Stellar staff and even more well kept grounds at this resort. Everything is far. From the lobby to the pro shop, you need a cart. Staff here is incredible and so friendly and kind. They offered shuttles to the driving range before the tournament. I will say rentals were actually nice clubs, providing you a box of 6 balls (you'll need them all) and cost only about $90 to rent. I had the ladies Callaway Big Bertha Reva and we played several of my shots as best ball! Woot woot. While the event booked both courses at the Omni, we got to play the International Course. I tell ya, these holes are the longest yards I had my driver try to make serious distance. I don't recall anything short of 300 yards except on the par 3 and even those looked like you were shooting well over 150 plus yards. Don't go after lost balls. It's a death trap. Despite that, I never had to take a mulligan. Being a Denverite and former Phoenician, this course kicked my butt on humidity in mid September but still kept wanting to play more. 18th hole had more sand than a Saharan desert. Good lawd, talk about keeping your shot straight. The carts come equipped with electronic scorecard. As my fellow golfers learned, it will beep and shut off if you wander into the greens where carts are not allowed. If you're visiting Orlando, and not at Disney World, this should keep you challenged and perfecting that swing! I'll be back next year to beat my scorecard.

PRO TIP; do yourself a favor and have a burger in the restaurant afterwards. Literally the best I've had anywhere in Orlando. Large and absolutely delicious.

I stayed on the course in an air bnb for vacation and had a Florida friend drive up for a round. We get to the pro shop around 2pm on a Tuesday. The clouds were rolling in and we knew that. Just figured we'd try our luck. They tell us from the get go no rain checks and if we decide to go out there will be no rain checks. Fair enough. We asked them ok, then can we wait it out? They said YES. So we figured we could always wait it out if we get rained on as they said. We race out there and can't even find hole one and instead start on hole 4. Play hole 4 and get to 5 and it starts pouring. We wait it out a good 30-45 min and roll on thru to hole 6/7 and they ride out telling us we have to get off the course as they're closing. I'm pissed. Get back to club house and that rude manager states it's not worth it to keep the course open for just us as we're the only ones on the course. So still no rain check. No apologies. Nothing. These fools should've just told us no, course is closed as it's going to rain. No rain checks, fine. But don't lie to us and be an a**hole about it. If he never told us we could wait it out, we would've never paid the $49/person. Stay far far away from this course as long as these clowns work there. These guys will rob you!

Absolutely horrible, the land / property itself has so much potential. Beautiful trees and…read morelandscape HOWEVER they have a private water plant that is failing. HUMAN WASTE is constantly mixing into water supply . I have lived here less than three months and there has been 5 or 6 boil water notices that stay on for days. We're currently on a boil water notice as of August 6 and it is ongoing. This means you can't wash dishes, you can't shower or bathe your children(or self,) brush teeth, cook or utilize water filtration for drinking water without boiling and let cool.. Please research if you consider moving here , DO NOT until water plant is redone (if they ever do.) Look up the articles by Lakeland Ledger, look at Greenlefe Facebook page and read the comments , even their own posts! My children and I got sick from this constant exposure, now I'm having to spend my time looking into the legality of the excessive frequency of boil water notices and explore avenues to resolve this because living this way is not practical. So far it has been discovered that how often they issue these notices is proof of owners negligence to maintain suitable conditions. So that's good news on the accountability front. Furthermore, the owners have been asking the city commissioner to build new residential units. Their inquiry summoned the commissioner to the property to inspect the waste management and water plant, the commissioners findings stated concern that it isn't even sufficient for the amount of homes it currently has because THE FACILITY WAS NOT PROPERLY MAINTAINED. This is in official records. And I believe the last inspection was two years ago, and he said it was insufficient. So it's only gotten worse, constant breaks that cause shutoffs and when it turns back on it has urine and feces in it, smells absolutely horrid. So owners have money in the budget for new construction, but are unable to repair/renew their water plant and ensure proper health standards for all residents (which would include the new builds as they have a PRIVATE water plant they 'regulate' on their own) Not to mention they charge significantly above average for water utilities, about 3x what city water charges. They do not provide itemized bills, even if you ask multiple times. There's an additional charge just to pay your bill, yes you read that right . Other issues as well but they don't feel as pressing as the fact that there is human urine and feces in the water and pipes. So if you're into that, you'll love Greenelefe! If not, I don't recommend you move here.
