I've had the opportunity to play here several times and each time was better than the time before. The Jack Nicklaus design is typical it's always safe to play the fairway and a little punishing if you get off track not only from the approach stand point but the hazards are also located where you don't want to be. The housing along the fairways keeps you from getting to crazy with the driver so unless you're hitting the ball exceptionally well the day you play I recommend you don't swing away on certain holes and save those shots for when the opportunity presents itself. The courses here are alway immaculate and well manicured. The resort is managed well and all the members of their staff are exceptional. The amenities are first class and this place provides you a great opportunity to shoot a good score no matter what your skill level. I would highly recommend playing this course or the other two on the property as well. read more

I just played this course as a 20 handicap senior from the while tees at 6,200 yards. The course is excellent, tougher than most, you need to be straight and pretty far. Greens are good quality, small and with a lot of break. Traps are being repaired during the summer. The last three or four wholes are very pretty. Highly recommended for better players. read more

Went there with friends this past week. We had handicapped players from single digits throughout the upper twenties. This course was extremely challenging but the experience was amazing. This is a must course but be on your game. Jack likes to play games with you. We also stayed on the premises and the home on Excitement Drive was fantastic. The house had all that you could ask for and more. No matter what the green fees are play and enjoy the experience. read more

The Nicklaus Course is located about a mile from the main clubhouse. You drive over I-4 to the north side of the property. They have a very large white tent for check in and driving range close by that is constantly restocked with balls in pyramid stacking. The course is typical Nicklaus with numerous bunkers around all greens and in locations where a misplaced t-shot would go. Middle of fairway is safe. Course has terrain changes not typical for Florida. It is challenging but very playable for all skills. The course was in very good condition, service was good. They have gas carts to navigate the FL "hills". GPS system on carts. Very enjoyable and I hope to return soon. read more

The 2nd golf course we played during our stay at the Reunion Resort, the Nicklaus is the longest and most challenging of the 3 golf courses. Just like the other courses, it's well kept and was in great shape when we played in early May. Who wants to get their hand bit off by a gator? LOL Tons of fun to play here though. The course is not located near the resort though...you have to drive 5 min if you have a car or you'll have to get a ride from the valet guys at the resort. The parking lot is small. Make no mistake, this is a tough course. It is well worth considering playing a full tee box forward of your usual in order to enjoy the course more. The difficulty is obtained through a combination of course length, an incredible amount of sand and very tricky greens that are often very difficult to hit based on the use of false fronts and other undulations. Even once you get to the green, three putts are lurking everywhere. I'm a reasonably solid 9 handicap but found the course a little much even playing from the whites, hence my comment above. The course was still enjoyable to play but in my opinion came up a little short in terms of value for the $180+ we spent for a tee time. The course has an adequate practice facility but no clubhouse. Overall, it appears to be still finding its way a little after what must have been some tough times during the recession. Plenty of housing being built around the holes so I'm sure the place will look much better in another couple of years. read more

Played here annually for the past 7 years or so. Always enjoy my trips to Reunion and we get a round or two in each day over 4 days mixing it up between the courses. The Nicklaus course is evolving now that construction is back in full swing at the resort. This course is our top choice of the three at Reunion. ***If you are playing through the end of 2015 be aware that #17 and #18 have been torn up and are being re-constructed. They are also building a new clubhouse to replace the tent that has been here. As a result you start on #15 and will play #15 and #16 twice. This loads you up with a few par 5's early on and a challenging par 3 where you must carry the water - often into the wind from my experience. Staff is extremely friendly, accommodating, and helpful at this course. We've seen very little turnover with the crew here over the years from the clubhouse to the attendants, the beverage cart servers to the starters. It's always good to see a few familiar faces encouraging you to have a good time and play well. There used to be a nice practice facility which would help set you up before your round. The range and practice area has been torn up recently as they are under re-construction.On cart GPS is helpful and pretty accurate from what I've experienced. Great replay rate if you're looking to get a second round in. Definitely worth it. Rain does not impact your ability to get around the course too much. It dries out quickly and we've never experienced a cart path only situation - even during a tropical storm a couple years back. As a note - check before you head out to see if the beverage cart will be making it's rounds if you are going off in the afternoon in the summer. Many times they will stop service if there aren't many groups out. No worries - you can pick up a six pack from the bar/grill in the clubhouse. Six pack special is essentially 6 for the price of 5. We drank Miller, Coors, or Ultra for $25 a six pack which wasn't too bad for a golf resort. They have decent liquor selection and some light snacks on the beverage carts too. Nice course layout, love the greens, and the bunker layouts. Par 3s are very well laid out, Jack Nicolas did a good job! However, it is NOT worth the price of $250 per player! Staff was a little snooty, maybe because it's a Jack Nicolas signature course?? In either case, no water in our cooler, and it was 96 degrees out. Had a pretty crappy GPS system with no touch screen, and you couldn't determine the distance to various places on the each hole. I am not a big fan of playing holes with private houses along every hole, especially on Sunday when all you hear is house parties and music on every tee box. It is a nice layout, and I would play it again, if the price was LOWER. I have played hundreds of course in Florida, and I wouldn't play this again for that price. I think they charge this because it's a Jack Nicolas course, but that's not enough to justify it. Clubhouse was OK, but they didn't even sell food or snacks to take with you especially after 9 holes! They also don't allow you to bring your own drinks or food, and that's fine, but we never saw a refreshment cart. read more

Terrible experience after the round.We had a group of 28 and the bartender informed us we could not run separate tabs or pay cash indivually for our drinks or food.After a debate he finally agreed to take my cash,$8.50 for a bottle of Stella btw.Once we sat a table the head waitress informed us we would all have to be on one tab and if we wanted to pay separately that it would take 45 minutes at the end to split it up.I have worked 30 years in the hospitality industry and have never heard of such a thing.They were just too lazy to help us so we went down the street to ale House where they had no problem splitting up the $973 tab we ran up.Shockingly bad experience. read more
