I Googled gunsmiths near me, and the first one to pop up was NOLA Guns. Great I thought, a…read moregunsmith literally 2 minutes from my home! I have an extensive firearm collection, and I know my way around firearms, but a gunsmith, I am not. And guess what, neither are those at NOLA Guns! I'll make it as short as possible. My Para Ordnance P12.45 had (still has) and ejector and /or possible and extractor problem. Once, twice or three times per full magazine, it would eject the spent casing directly at your face. (Wear those shooting glasses!) Over a month and three phone calls later (they don't return phone calls) they said come pick it up. This was because, "they could find nothing". Me, was the gun even fired? Them, "I can't tell you if it was or wasn't". They held my gun for over a month and did absolutely NOTHING. I doubt that they even know the difference between and extractor and an ejector. I guess they need to stick to selling guns or putting pretty cerakote on them. As a parting note, I looked at their prices for the guns they had on my initial visit, and I can guarantee that you can find much better prices online through either gun.deals or gunengine. MUCH lower prices at reputable gun dealers.

For those of us who aren't cops, there is a whole lot to see. Guns - Barney's is a Block stocking dealer. Don't know what a Clock is? Move on please. I am not really into guns, but if I were, I would probably have bought like five from them. Flashlights - Call me a nerd, but I like flashlights. Flashlight technology has come such a long way in the last five years. I bought a small light that takes two lithium batteries and will literally light up half a block. It is awesome. Holsters - If you are a gun toting yahoo, or even one of those open carry nut jobs, they have a holster for you. Again, if I wasn't scared of guns, I would have bought like five or ten from them. Clothes - Want to look tacticool? They got your hook up. Pepper spray - Hey ladies? Yeah? You know you bad? Yeah. Oh wait. Sorry, I just started singing Travis Scott. As the name implies, they cater to law enforcement officers (LEO's) ; however, any Joe Blow can walk in to browse. They carry all your typical LEO equipment such as boots, flashlights, clothes, holsters, ammunition and of course, firearms. You can shop for Sig Sauers, Berettas, Rugers, Kimbers and Walthers. But Barneys is known for selling Glocks and they sell more Glocks than anything else. In fact, their website states that "Barney's Police Supplies is one of the top 10 Glock dealers in Law Enforcement in the US". And in my opinion, no one is going to beat their prices on Glocks. This location is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 - 5:00, but don't let the lack of weekend hours dissuade you from coming here. Because what you get at Barney's is personalized service that is rare for a regional chain of stores. On top of that, you get professional assistance from people that know their craft. And their demeanor is very down to Earth and puts you at ease, especially if you are a layman and not in the LEO community. My initial contact with Barneys was made telephonically with Katie, who was patient, informative and professional. However, she had that certain charm and friendliness that drew me to the store, as I could immediately tell that this place was totally customer oriented. Upon my arrival at the store both she and store manager Melody Kennedy assisted me, and I could not have left a happier customer. I could have gone anywhere to make my purchase, and I did do some shopping around beforehand. However, I purposely saved Barneys for last as I heard that they were the best. Now that this "fact" has been confirmed, I'll never shop anywhere else.

I'd recently purchased a new rifle and, while removing one of the small, slotted-head screws…read more(plugs) atop the receiver in order to mount a scope, I had the slot strip out. My bad, and it was buggered up to a fare-thee-well. Not having the necessary tools or experience to remove such a small screw with the slot nearly gone, I started calling around looking for a gunsmith to help out. That's when I found Shoot Wise and Ryan (the gunsmith). I told him the problem and asked if I could bring it by. He said that first thing the next morning would be fine. I arrived shortly after the shop had opened and Ryan examined the rifle, told me he'd get the screw out and I'd have it back within a day or two. He was knowledgeable, polite, professional, and took the time to talk with me about the rifle. I left feeling good. Never made it home. Ryan called me about 30 minutes later, told me he had removed the screw, that the rifle was ready, and said that the price he'd quoted me (half what I'd been quoted elsewhere) was still good. When I picked up the rifle, there wasn't the slightest evidence that there'd been a problem and he explained the steps he'd taken to get the job done. Will I go back? Do I recommend Shoot Wise? Does the Pope wear funny hats? Is a duck's butt watertight? The only reason I don't give them six stars is that this site only lets me give five. Thanks Ryan, and thank you Shoot Wise.
