It is not too far from home and very new and clean. I am guessing this camp is less than five years old but the construction and thought process behind the layout is wonderful. They have a huge slide that goes into the lake. They have a theatrical theater, new, clean, very nice cabins that have AC. They keep out fresh fruit as snacks, and my daughter being a vegetarian had no problem at all. The leaders of this camp base everything (from what I can tell) about developing your daughter into a strong independent person. They stress the great women in history and the impact they made on our lives. They lead your child into coming home full of confidence and pride in the things they accomplished with out your help. My daughter did one week last year but it will be two this year. This camp made a huge impression on her life and I am excited to see how she grows in the next session this summer. This is a very nice safe and protected place for you child. I often look at the picture on her wall hanging out in front of her cabin , messing around with her friends, having the time of her life. Sincerely, Papa Bear.

I'm so happy that Piper and Popsie (the leaders) have been part of our lives. Some of my favorite stories my girls have shared.... When my youngest daughter went for the first couple years, she had a "big sister" from the 9th grade leadership girls. The big sisters are supposed to grant wishes for the little sisters. Well, my daughter wanted to stop time. So, her "big" got everyone in the camp to agree that if my daughter yelled "Freeze!" in the dining hall, everyone would stop in place for five seconds. It was an empowering moment to know her wish could come true in such a creative way. Another year, my older daughter was struggling with some friendship issues. When the counselors ended up giving her the firelighter award - as someone who represented the spirit of camp - her entire self-perception changed in a very positive way that carried forward out of camp. This year, the middle school girls wrote everything they didn't like about themselves on post its, stuck them on their counselors, then ripped the post-its to shreds... so they knew they could destroy the power those things had over them. On top of all these amazing self-empowerment moments, camp is just fun! My girls come back learning new songs, happy about new friends, and exhausted from having so much activity for two solid weeks. And they even rave about the food. We heart CLC.

They complained alot about the following every day: Teachers screaming alot with exception of few. Kids bullying and no one did anything about it until last minute. Some kids got favored over other kids and received more activities such as treasure boxes and etc. I asked them to rate their experience every day from 1 to 10 and in except few days, their rating was never 5. My kids kept asking when they go back to school? They simply preferred to be at school than in summer camp. I had no other choice but to keep them there for half summer but will not repeat this mistake again. It sounded more like a child care facility than a camp. I checked with other families and mostly had the same experience. Although if you talk to customer service, they are very professional and will do what they can to accommodate you but overall the Kidventure is not a fun camp at all. Most camp teachers are very young kids in their teens or early twenties so im not surprised with their level of service. Overall, i wish I had done more research. You can't find any reviews about Kidventure anywhere except in their own website so I wanted to share my kid's experience with everyone else.

Camp Jam - Simply Amazing!…read more Where do I even begin? Camp Jam was an absolutely incredible experience for my 6-year-old son last summer. As soon as we picked him up on the last day, he was already begging to go back again this year! The staff was phenomenal - incredibly welcoming, nurturing, and talented musicians themselves. You could tell they genuinely loved working with kids and fostering a love of music. The camp facilities were top-notch as well, with great equipment and spaces for all the different activities. My son came home each day excited to tell us about all the new songs, instruments, and music skills he had learned that day. From singing to piano, drums, And violin. he was exposed to such a wide variety of instraments. The counselors made everything fun and interactive. But beyond just having a blast, I was so impressed with how much he actually learned and grew his musical abilities in just one week. Camp Jam truly sparked a passion - he's been begging for piano lessons and trumpets his new repertoire of camp songs constantly around the house! I can't say enough about what an amazing opportunity this was. The life-long appreciation and skills Camp Jam nurtures are invaluable. We've already signed up for multiple sessions this summer - it's an absolute must for any family! Highest possible recommendation!

In music, they were introduced to a variety of instruments including violin, recorder, keyboard, and ukulele. I was amazed that in just a few short hours over several days, they were able to learn the basics and even perform on the violin on the final day. This experience inspired me to purchase two violins and plan for them to start lessons afterward. I truly appreciate Mr. Barry and all the teachers for their dedication and care. My kids are already looking forward to next year's camp!
