I would like to give 0 and my hope is that they see this even though it won't matter, I'll still be writing to headquarters. Communication at this place is the thing that irks me most, if there is one thing that really gets me upset is when people have poor communication skills. On today 1/14/2026 I had an altercation with a teacher. Mind you prior to my son switching to this woman class I had bad vibes about her as she is a room monitor that I have never seen smile in the hallways and she seems to be in a bad mood. If you don't want to work with kids get another job. I hate that. Anyways my son is developmentally delayed. So although he is potty trained he tends to have accidents every now and again. They transitioned my child to another class I thought this was based on learning as I was never informed the child had to be fully potty trained and no accidents. I've Spoken to the teacher and she didn't mention that either, on Wednesday when I dropped off my son I even confirmed he had just used the restroom and he had on a fresh pull up/w underwear. She said okay. On Thursday my older son took him in to school, by this time my son had been in the class 3 days so far...I send my son in to take him to class and my son comes back out with him. He says the teacher says that he must be wearing underwear only, shocking because I was just there yesterday and the teacher never said that to me. I go inside and I can already feel her sense of attitude. I tell her I can bring extra pull ups or underwear in case he has an accident and this person looks at me and says who would help him change into the new underwear as we don't provide that type of assistance in this class. This is a whole daycare... even elementary schools kids have accidents. At this point I'm super irritated because of her passive aggressive attitude and basically her saying if my son would have an accident there would be no assistance in being changed. My thing is even kids at that age don't wipe or sometime was their hands wells so you don't offer assistance to these little kids. I then asked her not to single my child out by having him returned to the car and that she could have requested I come in and we could have had the conversation or called me. But of course she went snazzy and said "I didn't single your son out." but that's exactly what you did by removing him from the class. Then when I attempted to communicate do she just brushed me off like whatever and well I'm not proud but I did in fact go off. The teachers name is Ms.Niajah... also normally love Ms PaMona but I didn't like that her employee wasn't checked for lack of communication, her rude comment about who would help him if he did have an accident and her blatant passive aggressive attitude. if you can't communicate effectively there is no way you should be running a classroom and to the teacher fix your attitude or find a new place to work. I'm tired of people working in places like this just for a paycheck but really you aren't even a people person. I interviewedother daycares now because they said I did cuss and there were students around. Which I am deeply sorry for, but it's my child and when you have an attitude about my child or I see you being mean spirited against my child I'm not going to just sit there and say nothing. It's a schools job to effectively communicate and even Ms. PaMona said they dropped the ball with communication yet I'm the problem. read more

This review is purely based on our initial visit. Please believe updates will be made. I've noticed this children learning center several times because my nail shop is in the nearby strip (shout-out to Tina & Sugar at Berries). Now that we're considering child care this one automatically came to mind. We toured this past Saturday right after touring Katy Kids. First impression - Wow! They have several buses, covered parking, shaded playgrounds, a splash pad and it looks extremely clean and professional the moment you step inside. The lobby staff was very welcoming when we arrived for our appointment. We signed in and Idalis the Education Director came to greet us. I liked how she interacted with CJ and her level of patience while he was running all over the place. She showed us around the center and gave us a great overview of the enrollment process, schedule, weekly/ monthly activities, cafeteria, classrooms, teachers and interactive systems in place. My son REALLY loved the science/math lab. She was shocked he already knows his planets has started reading. Look, I was impressed and honestly I don't impress easily. I mean they have a full time cook/chef and full kitchen! She took her time and answered every question I had. She completely gave us the reassurance we needed. As a parent - that's pivotal. I can not over state that enough. I just want my son to be safe and thrive. Lastly, we discussed pricing. Surprisingly , it was less expensive than I thought. Although it's twice what we paid our private baby sitter weekly and more expensive than the previous option down the street I can certainly see where it goes and confidently say it appears to be worth it. Plus educators and vets get a discount so that's cool ! Once you see how they are structured you're going to want the best for you little one. I called one other option nearby on Longenbaugh but the price was $25 more a week and honestly I can't see it getting any better than Ivy Kids. read more

It seems that this daycare doesn't always have the best interest of families or staff. Over the summer me and my husband realized this is not a daycare where our children thrive instead they are bullied, yelled at by teachers, or not properly watched. This daycare didn't use Procare to actually tell me what my child ate they just used a general ate all (even when I watched my kid eat lunch and he barely ate.) My husband came home one day and told me our 4 year old sons clothes smelled. My older child was there for the summer. It was brought to my attention that the classroom he was in didn't have curriculum past the first few weeks in summer and they were doing one page of math a day as well as crosswords and then playing for the rest of the day. That's not what I pay good money for. I pay for my child to be stimulated, taught, and to grow with his knowledge. The management team has made so many people want to leave and people felt bullied into actually leave. Many of staff who have left have felt feel disrespected, gaslighted, and much more. So many staff members feel that they can't even talk about what's going on bc they are not able to discuss issues reguarding proper childcare with the management employees. Teachers being overwhelmed and not always getting the help they ask for is another huge problem with this daycare. Having to wait for bathroom breaks for hours on end is also unacceptable. With having so many employees coming and going all within a 5 month period it's no wonder they also have a lot of staff who are not trained well enough to properly handle things in the classroom. Ms. Angela is an awesome teacher she is so good with kids and she cares about each and everyone of them when I leave my grandson off in the morning I feel such a sense of comfort knowing that Miss Angela will be watching him for most of the day. This daycare is well run and a great day care the best I've seen in many many years and I've seen a lot of day care's in my time. I drive an extra 45 minutes just to get to this daycare. My daughter takes her 2 children there and that's how I found out about it and it is a wonderful day care. One more thing my grandson is a heart baby he has a heart defect so I wouldn't leave him just anywhere at this place I feel very safe in leaving my grandson. read more

This daycare was once a very good high quality child care center. My daughter and son thrived and learned so much. But when a change in directors occurred last September, this school quickly went downhill. There is so much inconsistency its insane. Destini thinks she's a know it all and blows smoke up your butt to keep parents from complaining. She is not accountable. She only covers herself and no one else. I could not wait to disenroll and run far away from the school. And if Destini can't b.s. you then she will stop talking to you and will be the coniving director she is. She throws a rock and hides her hand. I would not trust her. Don't let the pony show fool you, enrollment has been low ever since the old director was let go. I have a 9 month year old son, named Maurice, who attends the Ivy Kids Barker Cypress location. I am a working parent who (along with other parents in his class) watches the classroom camera all throughout the day. I was inspired to take time out of my busy schedule and send a review because I just saw, on the camera, how Happy Bailey, Ava, Caleb and my son Maurice are to see Ms. Angela in their classroom again. Ms. Angela was my son's teacher from the time he was 10 weeks old and has taught him so much in his 9 months. But unfortunately she was recently pulled from their his classroom and placed in a class with the old kids, but seeing the smiles on the babies faces lets me know that the Infant A classroom is were she truly belongs. Ivy Kids is an amazing school and not only has a phenomenal learning program but also loving and caring people from the time you walk in the school until the time you leave. Every morning my son and I are greeted with a Big Smile and Welcome from Ms. Megan. When we get to his classroom Ms. Veronica is there and ready to take write down his daily meal schedule and sing songs and play with him. By 9:30am Ms. Mary (who I call his "Mother Away from Home") comes and feeds, kisses, rocks and hugs him all throughout the day until I get there. Often one of his favorite teachers, Ms. Nikki, comes and kiss, smile, talk and play to him. Finally, when I go to pick up Maurice and I am once again greeted by a Sweet Angel, named Ms. Ruth, who sees my son and I off with a warm goodbye. My son, Jacob, started here only a few moths ago but already we have seen him learn so much. His teacher Ms. Rhoda has taught him so much. I love the little things like teaching them a song she sings every time it's time to clean up. We have taken this same song and use it at home. Update: My son has been in a new daycare ever since disenrolling from Ivy Kids and those teachers are not specially trained other than the basic training they have received. However, the owners and the teachers at his new school are very willing to listen to our concerns and work with us; unlike those at Ivy Kids. We are doing everything the same as we did at Ivy Kids, except this time we are dealing with compassionate teachers, director and owners who are willing to make the effort than give up on us. My son has been progressing well at his new daycare and we are very pleased. When my son was at Ivy Kids, I was so hooked on the camera because I was scared for my son. The owners at Ivy Kids have not contacted us until after we turned in the disenrollment letter, emphasizing that we take down the review and not taking any responsibility for any of their wrongdoings I have listed on the previous review; so I have let them know that if they did not feel anything that I have listed is unfair treatment, then they shouldn't be worried about other parents being aware of it prior to enrolling their child. Previous Review Prior to enrollment, I had talked to Destini regarding my son's speech issues and my anxiety of letting him go anywhere out of my sight. Let's just say I was promised "the moon" and I decided to enroll him. Ever since their staff turnover, I have noticed many changes and very unhappy and unsatisfied teachers. My family and I would take turns watching the camera because my son couldn't voice his concerns. My son had speech and sensory issues, however, he could follow commands IF he was spoken to. When my son came home with scratches on his arms with adult nail marks, Destini claimed it was from other kids. Not to forget, I was watching my son being dragged forcefully by another teacher and held in place while he was rubbing his arm from being hurt by the grip. Was there an incident report however? No!! I did notice the next day that the same lady that grabbed my son had long nails but I felt it was pointless to argue with someone not willing to take responsibility. Then I reported a teacher trying to make my son lay down during nap time by placing her leg over my kid's back. I was told she had "the talk" but there was no incident report filed and I never received a copy of it. To make it worse, the teacher stated she wasn't pressing down hard on my kid. I thought I was crazy and let one of my doctors at work, watch the video with me and concluded that the teacher's expression seemed inappropriate, dragging kids by holding them by one arm; communicating by opening their mouths really wide as though they were yelling across the room rather than redirecting. When I relayed this message to Destini, she kept giving me excuses by telling me the teacher to student ratio according to Texas Laws and it gets tough for the teachers. As a director if you realize that there is a situation that is going out of control, you make necessary arrangements to fix the problem and not exhaust your employees to provide an unsafe environment for the students. This school has failed to keep its promises on several occasions. I can say I never had peace of mind letting my son be at this school. It was always something I would get called from work. What really sent me off the edge was when I got a call from Destini stating my child was playing at the sink "splashing large puddles of water" and when the teacher tried to pull him back he was "getting violent and you have to understand he is getting bigger too". We are talking about a 3 year old; not a monster. She then said the teachers can "no longer provide a safe environment for your son" and gave me 2 options... to either pick him up at 4:30pm or pay hourly out of pocket for one of the Ivy Kids teachers to stay from 3 till the time I go to pick my son up. Mind you, I'm already paying weekly for 12hrs a day when my son is only there between the hours of 9-11 and 3:45 to 5:30; approximately 5 hrs in a day. Destini even said she didn't have the budget to have 2 teachers in the classroom. After talking to the teachers and realizing Destini's false accusations about my son being violent and the real reason was that one of the teachers was pregnant and couldn't do much work and after talking to educated medical professionals, we finally decided it was time to put an end to this stupidity and get my son out of there before he regresses. I enrolled him last September (2016) and by October 2017, my son and I have had enough encounters of abuse, neglect and harassment from this school. I remember asking Destini multiple times "why am I paying you every week if you can't take care of my child?" and being told "you are more than welcome to send your son to another school". I want the owners of this school to know that your director Destini, and her lack of accountability and ability to provide a safe environment for my son is one of the major reasons for our decision. Our kids have been attending Ivy Kids Barker-Cypress for about 3 years now. They used to be great, we loved the teachers, directors, and owners, even though staff turnover was pretty high. In the last year, it's become very apparent that the owners only care about money and not the kids or parents. They keep firing our favorite teachers/directors, I'm assuming to hire people for cheaper. The staff keep losing our kids' jackets and clothing items, feeding them food items that they are allergic to (we send their own food, just feed them that - it shouldn't be that hard...), and the newest director communicates with the parents ZERO - the only communication we receive from her are nit-picky nastygrams about remembering to text them when we're on our way to pick up the kids. She never responds to my emails asking about what classroom my kids are in (I shouldn't even need to ask, but I do...often), where our lost clothing items are, etc. It's very clear there's zero communication between the staff/management as well, since we continue to have this issue with feeding them things they aren't supposed to have. A lot of families have left, and we are considering doing the same since it's really gone downhill lately. read more

Not the worst, but there have been definite cuts in quality to what you get for the money. This is not a cheap school!! Expected so much more from this place because of what they promise up front. At first it was great, son learned sign language before he could speak and picked up everything they threw at him. Sure he was in class with kids that got him sick and kept us trying to cure strep throat, but that is what being a baby is all about right?? The reason I give this place a low rating is because it rapidly went downhill. A minor detail is how they have rules about the parking lot and which direction you should drive. I've almost been hit so many times and constantly tailgated while I'm trying to drive safe in a kid environment. I definitely noticed the quality of clientele decrease.. So bad that I've had to wait behind people trying to pay their monthly with crumpled up dollar bills. Really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Such a rapid decline and the good teachers have all left. Became a very bad school quickly and our son stopped learning and sharing his daily knowledge. He was referring to his teacher as the meanest teacher in the whole wide world which makes me question what is going on in that room. He learned to use words and hand gestures that we never use at home... the list goes on, but bottom line is this is a low quality school that charges a premium price. After being a SAHM for several months with my little ones, I decided to return to working full-time, which means full-time daycare. Over the years, I've had experience with several other daycares in or area, so I have a great deal of experience with question asking, what to look for, etc. I am so happy that Ivy Kids has decided to hire Destini as their Director. She and her staff are doing an amazing job They are making great improvements for the staff, students, and families. I am greeted with a great smile welcoming me each time I enter, everytime I call, or everytime I enter a classroom. The teachers are warm and friendly, make eye contact, and speak to you (we've had experiences at other daycares where the teachers barely know your child's name, won't speak or even make eye contact with parents, which drives me crazy). My daughter is attending the winter camp this week and so far it has been so amazing not only are the teachers great but the front staff is so amazing when we walk in. I love the fact that they take the time to greet each student individual and learn all the students name as they come in. Even the director Destini Jordan takes the time to step out of her office and not only greet me but my daughter making that connection with her. Even the front desk Ms.Meagan and Ms.Beth take the time out to stop what they are doing to make sure my daughter is greeted properly. The teachers that work with my daughter are amazing they care for her as i would. Ms.Teana is an amazing teacher Zoie tells me that she wants Ms. Teana to be her 2nd grade teacher. Ms. Franchelle is just as amazing she really does an amazing job interacting with the students and you can just tell that she really enjoys what she does. Ivy Kids is such a warm loving environment I couldn't imagine having my daughter anywhere else during the holidays. read more
