At the first sign of discomfort during one of his sessions, something not uncommon for children with sensory or developmental challenges, FINS made the decision to remove him from the program entirely. We had accrued 13 make up sessions to this point and were told we could do the make up sessions during the daytime slots. But when we tried to take them up on that offer, that option was suddenly unavailable. No warnings. No make up sessions. No partial refund. No support. FINS presented itself as inclusive and understanding, but when it truly mattered they turned their back on a child who just needed some extra support. This was not just poor communication - it felt like a complete disregard for a vulnerable student and their family. To any parent considering FINS, especially those with children of special needs, think twice. This experience was not only frustrating. It was deeply hurtful. We expected compassion. Instead what we got was a business decision and this place is purely in it for the money. Our child deserves better.

Although it's their job and summer tends to bring on younger instructors and they are qualified some don't have the patience or drive for toddlers. If you can find your way to work around a young man named Christians' schedule I strongly suggest this This young man is way over qualified and his patience with the toddlers show and they hang on every one of his words. I can't say enough great things about him and amazed how much my daughter has learned so far. He deserves a raise and other parents I spoke with noticed this as well. So as much as this place is great I highly recommend Christian if your child needs swim lessons.

Her instructor is very gentle with her, and the class size for her age group is no larger than 3 students. Scheduling classes is easy (online system makes signing up and paying for classes very simple), and they offer a free trial class on your first visit to make sure it's a good fit for your child. He cried during every class for the first three months and now begs us to go swimming. The front desk staff has always been friendly and greets my son by name each time he walks in the front door. We ultimately left because we were ready to put my younger son in swim lessons and this location had no time slots available at the same time to accommodate both. The one improvement I would have loved during our time there was to have consistent swim instructors. My son would grow attached to an instructor and then they would either move to other classes or leave altogether. Luckily, he was able to adapt to a different instructor each time that it happened.

The one thing this place has locked down is ORGANIZATION. The place is huge and has a lot of…read moreswimmers. Although it looks chaotic, they have a great system to keep things under control. The front desk has two people working, so even if one is on the phone, you are greeted by another member. Everyone I have encountered have been so friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Once you are signed up, they give your child a color specific wrist band, so the instructors and staff members know where to direct them. All the instructors have customized shirts with names on the back, which is super helpful to me because I can't remember faces as quickly. They don't make it a point where they speak with you after every swim lesson to give feedback on your child. However, towards the end of the week session or however long you signed up for, you are allowed to go to the other side of the pool and watch your child and then you can ask and/or discuss whatever you want. When I signed my son up, he was in for an "intense" weeklong session where he went every day for 2 weeks for 30 minutes a day. He started off as a "guppy". He did the session with 2-3 other kids, so technically I was paying for only 10 minutes of swim time. However, it was still worth it because he was young, and I think seeing other kids swim helps comfort him and gave him confidence. He cried on the first day, BUT his instructor, Miss Mary Lou was super sweet and was able to calm him down. At the end of the session, he was all smiles and couldn't wait to come back. When I signed up, my son got a shirt and a booklet. That booklet is super cute and helpful! It's a fun comic for the kid, but it also tells me what to expect because they basically explained everything in there. I'm telling you, their organization is great. They thought of everything! After the guppy session, he was advanced to the next level: goldfish. We transitioned to him swimming 1 day a week with other kids again. However, when private lessons popped up, we switched. I highly recommend private 1 on 1 sessions because you get the whole 30 minutes. The instructors do teach the entire 30 minutes and never stop a minute early, which is nice. You can rest assure you're paying for the entire time. I like the private sessions because I feel like my son was able to learn more. Mr. Luke was his private instructor, and he was awesome. He pushed him, which I appreciated. Of course, when my son showed signs of fatigue or was overwhelmed, I saw Mr. Luke adjusted his methods a bit, but he didn't "baby" him. The place has lots of changing rooms and a huge shower room for the kids. There is also lots of places for parents to sit and watch their child. Although a lot of people come and go, it doesn't feel overly crowded or claustrophobic. When your child passes the float test, they have a super cute tradition where the child gets to place their handprint anywhere on the wall and write their name. It just makes the child's experience more special and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this place! This was a great place for my son to start off learning how to swim.
