I want to add a star to my previous review as they reached out to me and offered one-on-one personal classes with my 6 and 3 yr old. I appreciate the great customer service and follow up, wish it would have been done earlier. But I saw the most improvement and progress when they did this one-on-one class for one month; they made more progress there than in the previous 5 months. So my recommendation is to do one-on-one and be vocal if you want your lessons to be about survival skills. read more

i usually don't take my time to write a review unless there is an extreme reasoning behind it. please be aware of this company. each class you paid for is only 30 minutes long and the swim instructor has 2-3 kids (including your child) that they try to squeeze into this short timeframe. i would be lucky if my child got 15 minutes of swim time with her instructor. not worth the money! also---- please be aware of who this company works as far as how their "make-up" tokens work. i would like to start by saying that this company is a complete rip-off. i enrolled my daughter in swim lessons in march of 2024 and paid a monthly fee of $100 each month after. that would be a total of over $500. she was only able to attend 6 classes out of the 17 i had pre-paid for. once i signed the 30 day cancellation fee i was surprised that learn that i only had 3 make up tokens on my account.... not only did i lose the 17 classes i had already paid for - now i only have this week to use the 3 make-up tokens on my account that they only gave me out of the 17 classes i had already paid for... this is completely disgusting and upsetting. i feel like i have been robbed as well as already not sitting well with the fact that my child isnt getting that much swim time. i strongly feel like if a parent has already pre-paid $500 worth in classes they should have those makeup available to them. period. this company ought be asamed of themselves for how they conduct business and how they are very unorganzied with how they run the swim classes. too bad i cant rate you guys a zero because you dont even deserve a 1 star. read more

We began our now 7 year old at Houston Swim Club when she was a baby. While the lessons were good it was too crowded for our liking and noticed our baby/toddler was not as focused on learning. Fast forward 6 years and Our children have been in swimming lessons at Pengu for almost 6 months now. Coach Jesus and Coach Cassidy are focused on ensuring that your child trusts them in the water. This is so important! My 5 year old started off so scared and in 3 weeks of lessons she was floating with 2 ribbons(skills) passed and promoted. My 7 year old has 3 ribbons (skills) passed and is 1 skill away from promotion. We love their teachers, the cleanliness of the facility, adherence to social distancing (available outside seating), heated pools, ability to reschedule make up classes via app and book online. We have found our forever home w Pengu Townelake and Coaches Jesus and Cassidy. We're even thinking about changing to 1:1 lessons since the girls keep asking lol! read more

An extremely clean and organized swim school! Service is excellent and I feel really comfortable that my child is safe here. There are tons of instructors and lifeguards in the pool area at all times. They are very covid-aware and constantly wiping down the waiting area as well. The app has given me a little trouble, but the employees are responsive and helpful. read more

Our son has been attending swimming classes for about a year. As his parents, we see how much he has learned and improved in the water. Moreover, we value the confidence he now has as a swimmer. Pengu and its instructors have been a valuable part in the skill growth he has displayed, and they see it too. We're so thankful for the amazing and safe training given to our son. read more

Update... I was contacted by Jessica, the district manager, and had a much better experience. She was very understanding of the changes that happen with school starting. She was more than willing to work on a solution and allow my boys to make up the class they missed.... My two sons were unable to make a class at the Towne Lake location because the school bus was late. I was not able to give the 30 minutes notification because I did not know the bus would be late. This is the first week back to school during a pandemic, so schedules are a bit uncertain (I have never missed a class otherwise). When I called to see about rescheduling I was told they would not let me. I lost out on 2 swim lessons because they were unwilling to compromise even the slightest during these uncertain times. I would definitely not recommend this swim school for busy moms. They only care about the bottom line. read more

The school is very clean and beautiful inside. The staff was very informative and nice too. Skilled instructors that were patient with my little swimmers. The general manager Daniel Lamanna was very friendly and informative! They also have an amazing filtration system with UV light so it doesn't require as much chlorine. Perfect for my daughter who suffers from eczema. No itching today which is a first for us! We have taken lessons at surrounding schools but this is the best so far! Highly recommend Pengu! read more

My kids love it here! As a bonus, the facility is brand new, beautiful and clean! I love the bright colors used throughout the building. We selected this school for three reasons: proximity to home, class availability for two children of different ages and skill levels, and we don't have to get in the water with my 2 year old. Although he knows how to float and is no stranger to the pool, he hated the sight of swimming pools until his first day here. We were prepared to bribe him to go to class, but the facility, staff, and instructors are so inviting that he just walked right into the pool area while holding his brothers hand. On our first day, we received welcome balloons and shirts, an overview of the check in process and even a warm welcome from the manager. Also, the changing rooms are HUGE which is so helpful when changing two children. The selection of swim gear for purchase is impressive and I like the app that allows you to manage your schedule, cancellations and make up classes. So happy we decided to enroll!
