The front desk has two people working, so even if one is on the phone, you are greeted by another member. Everyone I have encountered have been so friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Once you are signed up, they give your child a color specific wrist band, so the instructors and staff members know where to direct them. All the instructors have customized shirts with names on the back, which is super helpful to me because I can't remember faces as quickly. They don't make it a point where they speak with you after every swim lesson to give feedback on your child. However, towards the end of the week session or however long you signed up for, you are allowed to go to the other side of the pool and watch your child and then you can ask and/or discuss whatever you want. When I signed my son up, he was in for an "intense" weeklong session where he went every day for 2 weeks for 30 minutes a day. He started off as a "guppy". He did the session with 2-3 other kids, so technically I was paying for only 10 minutes of swim time. However, it was still worth it because he was young, and I think seeing other kids swim helps comfort him and gave him confidence. He cried on the first day, BUT his instructor, Miss Mary Lou was super sweet and was able to calm him down. At the end of the session, he was all smiles and couldn't wait to come back. When I signed up, my son got a shirt and a booklet. That booklet is super cute and helpful! It's a fun comic for the kid, but it also tells me what to expect because they basically explained everything in there. I'm telling you, their organization is great. They thought of everything! After the guppy session, he was advanced to the next level: goldfish. We transitioned to him swimming 1 day a week with other kids again. However, when private lessons popped up, we switched. I highly recommend private 1 on 1 sessions because you get the whole 30 minutes. The instructors do teach the entire 30 minutes and never stop a minute early, which is nice. You can rest assure you're paying for the entire time. I like the private sessions because I feel like my son was able to learn more. Mr. Luke was his private instructor, and he was awesome. He pushed him, which I appreciated. Of course, when my son showed signs of fatigue or was overwhelmed, I saw Mr. Luke adjusted his methods a bit, but he didn't "baby" him. The place has lots of changing rooms and a huge shower room for the kids. There is also lots of places for parents to sit and watch their child. Although a lot of people come and go, it doesn't feel overly crowded or claustrophobic. When your child passes the float test, they have a super cute tradition where the child gets to place their handprint anywhere on the wall and write their name. It just makes the child's experience more special and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this place! This was a great place for my son to start off learning how to swim.

When we enrolled our child, we were assured FINS would be patient, flexible and accommodating. Unfortunately this turned out to be false. At the first sign of discomfort during one of his sessions, something not uncommon for children with sensory or developmental challenges, FINS made the decision to remove him from the program entirely. We had accrued 13 make up sessions to this point and were told we could do the make up sessions during the daytime slots. But when we tried to take them up on that offer, that option was suddenly unavailable. No warnings. No make up sessions. No partial refund. No support. FINS presented itself as inclusive and understanding, but when it truly mattered they turned their back on a child who just needed some extra support. This was not just poor communication - it felt like a complete disregard for a vulnerable student and their family. To any parent considering FINS, especially those with children of special needs, think twice. This experience was not only frustrating. It was deeply hurtful. We expected compassion. Instead what we got was a business decision and this place is purely in it for the money. Our child deserves better.

Ms. Siara has the perfect balance of being sweet and encouraging while also being firm enough to keep our daughter focused and progressing. At this age, that balance is so important, and she does it beautifully. She gently pushes our daughter just enough to build confidence and skills without overwhelming her. They have mini golfing where you can rent equipment inside the facility. They have a great playground area and outdoor fitness equipment. Inside the facility, they have a free pool and gym area. They offer a variety of classes such as yoga, water aerobics, etc. Make sure to check out their website or pick up their schedule at the facility for hours of operation. For first timers, you will have to fill out a form and don't forget to bring a large sized towel for workouts! There's a really great large dog park next door but there's no entrance to the dog park from Mary Jo Peckham. You would have to park at the Katy Library to enter the dog park. Cypress Creek had great reviews, so even though it was a longer commute, we wanted a positive experience. We purchased the 6 lesson package for my daughter and it was a good fit. She already had some driving experience, but she needed some fine tuning. Each lesson was 1.5 hours and my daughter's driving ability and comfort behind the wheel improved. After the 6th lesson, we scheduled her road test with an extra lesson right before. She was thrilled when she passed. I'm very happy with our experience. My daughter says she highly recommends Cypress Creek Driving Academy and so do I.

He had only driven in a parking lot once when he started the driving portion. I rode with him yesterday and he was so comfortable. There was one particular trainer he had the most. An older lady.
