The one area I could see for improvement would be around daily photo consistency. There are some days where the photos are flowing in, and others leaving us wondering what our children did for the day. It's nice to pair our conversations with them to photo proof. I would love to see more frequent daily photos so I can get a better, more consistent glimpse into my children's day and see their activities. I understand the staff is busy, and I want to emphasize that I'm looking for a smooth, efficient way to update this without it becoming an annoyance or a significant burden on their daily routine. The Search: I met and loved a Montessori director that was sooooo promising. The only problem was that her school was near Cedar Park, and we lived in Round Rock. I was having difficulty justifying the drive of 30 minutes one way to get us there each day. A friend suggested I search within my neighborhood, and I'm so grateful I did. By the time I toured Sunrise, I had been to two other schools. After my tour there, the decision was easy! I knew it was going to be the best place for us. The tour felt like I was talking with old friends; we discussed curriculum, daily plans for the children, the staff, and Montessori in general; best of all, we laughed and talked about parenting. We shared stories about our children, and I felt like, above all, it was clear they cared about the well-being and safety of my family as if it was their own. All of the administrator team felt at home! The Start of School: My daughter had an awesome first day of school, but then cried the 2nd day and on for about a week or two at drop-off. Each day she would cry, then I would cry because I felt all the feelings (guilt, relief, worry, etc) even though I knew it was the best place for her. I met countless parents who reassured me that it would get better. Her teachers reassured me it would get better, and the administrator team talked with me to let me know it would get better. One day, Ms. Nancy saw me in tears leaving and offered to give me a call within the hour to let me know how my daughter was doing. That call was what I needed that day and she didn't have to it, but she saw a need and met it with great joy! Those moments are priceless! The above and beyond support and care during that time meant the world to all of us. Now my daughter wakes up and tells me she's ready for school! Not only have the teachers and team at Sunrise cared for my daughter, they cared for me as well! It was a difficult process, and I'm so grateful for each and every member of there team. Teachers (in addition to my daughter's teachers who are awesome (Ms. Marie and Ms. Liz) like Ms. Destiny and Ms. Briana greet me every day and afternoon. Everyone I encounter has a smile and a warm disposition. Whether busy or not, my daughter wants to give hugs to the entire admin team (Ms. Laura, Ms. Lara, and Ms. Briana) daily! Now our leave time is longer than drop off because my daughter wants to say "see ya" to all her friends and teachers daily. I should also mention that Sunrise has been great about suggesting at-home resources to support a Montessori education so that we can reinforce what's happening there. At this point, if you're looking for a great team that will support you AND your family every step of the way...they are IT! What we pay financially far exceeds what we receive as an entire family because of this team! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

The administration is highly organized, communicates regularly with parents, and does an outstanding job maintaining a positive and structured environment. Our oldest completed the primary program with Ms. Suba and Ms. Meena, who were absolutely fantastic. He transitioned smoothly into first grade at our local public elementary school, where he is thriving. Our youngest has been with Ms. Amanda, along with Ms. Antonette and Ms. Carrington, for two years and has gained remarkable independence and confidence. Thanks to their Montessori education at West Montessori, both of our children have become independent thinkers and risk-takers. It truly is a Montessori environment where the teachers are experts in their field. The leadership is equally impressive; the director, Ms. McAnelly, and the assistant director, Ms. Nasrin, are kind, professional, and understanding. With only four classrooms, the school feels like one big family. The fact that every staff member knows us personally creates a deep sense of safety and belonging, which has always been our top priority. What makes West Montessori special for our family: Family & Community Involvement: The school goes above and beyond to keep parents involved through special monthly traditions. We've cherished the "Mommy dates," "Daddy dates," and "Grandparent dates" for holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and even Rodeo Day. These events make us feel like active participants in our children's school life. Global Awareness & Public Speaking: We love how the curriculum embraces and celebrates diverse cultures. My oldest would come home eager to share the traditions of Diwali or the Lunar New Year. A true highlight was the kindergarten graduation, where every child gave a speech about a particular country they had studied. It was incredible to see that level of confidence and global knowledge at such a young age. Enrichment & On-Site Services: Beyond the classroom, they offer a fantastic range of activities such as Soccer Shots, yoga, dance, Spanish, cooking classes, and more. It is also incredibly convenient and supportive that they allow on-site speech therapy for children who need that extra bit of help. We feel very fortunate to be part of this school. If you're looking for a caring, expert-led, close-knit community for your children, we highly recommend West Montessori!

There was not enough toys for each child to have 1 toy each. When I mentioned it, a couple days later I saw them dump a bucket of old dirty used toys onto the floor. My daughter got bit & scratched and they didn't know how it happened.( there was around 5 kids in her class). ( I only kept her there a couple weeks because I started noticing these things and found another daycare to put her in asap) . Also they didn't have a refrigerator in the classroom to keep milk in, so the milk would be left in sippy cups all day hot. They would play videos ( I'm guessing YouTube kids) on an iPad everyday for the kids to watch. What was worse is not all the kids could see it, and they didn't have any toys to play with. they would put the couple toys they did have away. So they were just in this room with nothing to do. Their arts and crafts consisted of them taking a picture of the child holding a marker etc and then they would take it back from the child and give it to the next one to take a picture with. It was truly awful. There were cops there one day. No one is ever at the front or able to answer the phones. The cameras are always down & they point them where you can't see the majority of the class rooms anyway. Huge staff turnover & shortages all the time. I love that the kids have ample room…read moreand activities in their main room but that the school also has a music/dance room, a science/art room, and a technology room in addition to the playground area, so the kids have plenty of opportunity to explore opposed to being in one room all day. Every time I check in on my kiddies while I'm at work on their classroom camera it gives me some relief that at least if I can't be with them their always doing fun activities and being taught in such fun ways. Even my K-5 after school kiddos teacher has story time with the kids and I love it. The teachers have amazing control of their classrooms without being rude or offensive to the children. I recall when I did the tour that it was so calm, fun and structured in "every" single classroom. I think the key is that the teachers are constantly engaging the kids throughout the day in some sort of activity. Of course, some kids want to do their own thing but from what I've witnessed on the camera they are gently invited back to the group to have fun together. The main teachers have been there for over 7 - 13 years so they are well experienced in teaching and facilitating a classroom. There also seems to be a fair amount of time for the kids to play at their leisure as well. I'm happy that all meals are included in the tuition and that they offer a variety of healthy meals and snacks. They teach Spanish and sign language too! What I love most is that at the end of each day they provide me with a daily report for my preschooler that includes actual pictures of my son doing the activities that align with the curriculum for that week. This allows me to see and save memories of him daily and it also confirms for me that the school is actually applying the curriculum they follow - a lot of daycares will initially sell you on the robust academia program they have but don't always follow through, so applauds to Cadence for the integrity in which they operate daily. Ms. Merlinda, Ms. Rose and Ms. Amanda are the most patient, caring, and loving teachers. We're so blessed and honored to have them caring for our kiddos. I've been sending my children to daycare for over 8 years and Cadence has raised the bar in the most pleasing ways. I never knew the environment my children were missing out on. I wish we had enrolled with them earlier but I'm happy to be here now and my 20 month old has a fun, nurturing, educational and engaging future ahead at the school.

My child got moved to other classrooms a lot. Her classroom only had 1 teacher so if the teacher ever had to miss they just moved all the kids over. When they did that I couldn't see her on the monitors. I think the teachers were getting kids confused because they would mark they changed my daughter's diaper, and I would come check on her & her home diaper would still be on. ( daycare diapers had her name written on them as required, so I could also tell if she had been changed or not.) sometimes she would go 5 hours or so without a real diaper change. Even though it was marked in the app that they had changed her. They would mark that they fed her 8 oz & then my 4 oz breastmilk bottles would still be in the fridge. So I think they were giving her someone else's milk. Also I could walk in & they would ask me which child was mine. So that definitely worried me. You don't have to be buzzed in( you do have a code) but if someone was in front of you, anyone could slip in while someone else was walking in the school & the teachers didn't know who the kid was much less what the parents looked like. They had pictures of the babies in their own classroom, but since they had to always move them to the older room their pictures weren't in there. Since there was only 1 teacher that meant babies were left crying while she held one baby, or changed a diaper or fed any of them. I'm pretty sure it was the cafeteria staff that would come relieve the teacher for her lunch break. They were all nice people but extremely under staffed, with a high turnover over rate. We left really shortly after we started and found an amazing daycare where there are 4 teachers for about 10 babies. Even the toddlers class has 3-4 teachers all the way until they are two. And we pay less now. The new school has better cameras & more security. Unlimited log ins at our new school. The infants have their own "playground" and go outside everyday weather permitting. it's covered so you don't have to worry about the sun as much. **** update. I didn't post my first or last name on yelp. So that makes sense that you couldn't pull my name off of any database. I also believe it was my spouse that registered our child. However, my child did attend this school. I struggled to post this because I truly thought the staff was nice. But as a parent I would want to know the experience we had. The school was just severely understaffed & everyone was new. Teachers walked out in the middle of the day & quit it got so bad. Those things can be fixed. Thank you for your response, and the invitation to speak with you.

My 2 year old attended this school for 7 months. I was really excited about him attending the…read moreschool because it was a Montessori and they were more reasonably priced than where my daughter attended several years before plus they provided diapers/wipes. Ms Abby seemed very professional and stayed on top of everything happening at the school. Everything was going good until it wasn't. He'd caught hand, foot and mouth after attending for a few weeks, had a couple of falls, one that I felt was a little suspect because he was sleeping on the cot and apparently there was a metal part that when he got up being only 1.5 at that time he was wobbly and hit his head causing a nice little cut. I excused because things can happen and he'd just really learned how to walk but I didn't understand why they would have cots with metal exposed in that way. Nevertheless we continued moreso because he seemed happy there and we were saving compared to others in the area. The final incident was when he was bit by ants in the yard. No one called me, Ms Abby just sent an email. When I got home and my MIL who picks him up from school asked me if they'd called and I said No, then checked my email I was furious. They'd called several other times when his temperature was slightly elevated even after taking him to a doctor and letting them know there was no cause for concern (mild congestion) but not this! My son's arms were filled with bite marks and I immediately called Ms Abby but it was about 630 that day. She didn't answer or call back. I was traveling the next day (Friday) and she said she called back but I didn't see a missed call or receive a vmail. We didn't discuss until Monday when I got back in town. She was very nonchalant about it and apologized but couldn't assure me of anything. She said the teachers didn't know there was an ant pile in the yard, which told me they aren't really paying attention to the kids like they should outside nor were they properly safeguarding the yard. She said they'd removed the ant pile but it should have never happened. I also informed her of a possum I saw one day a few weeks before and asked if she knew that they were around her property and she looked really surprised. My son was speech delayed at that time and Ms Abby and one of the teachers who was assisting outside kept pointing out that he didn't even cry he just came to them with his arms out showing them the ants crawling on him. Imagining that still haunts me) In that moment, there were too many things she didn't know and I realized this was an unsafe place for my son and we had to find another school for him. It would have been a nice gesture to return the remaining tuition we'd paid but she and her partner (who is her dad) refused to give me the money back for the remaining weeks that we'd paid for that month. That told me they took no responsibility for their neglect. I was supposed to forgive and forget. If there was someone else who could watch my son his last day would have been the day of the incident. We were able to get him moved a week and a half later. I would have never forgiven myself if anything else happened to him. It could be a 4 or 5 star review had I been lucky enough to not have my kid have this experience but when they are met with challenging situations to navigate, I was able to see their true colors. Being reactive versus proactive is just not acceptable when dealing with children. I couldn't afford to risk any other incidents at my son's expense. We sent him to the more expensive Montessori and he has been thriving there. I guess you get what you pay for.
