Parking trolls... beware of them. anyway, I went here looking for Retro Games. as a collector, my favorite part about swap meets are the people that just have JUNK, and being a dick to resellers (if you're a collector, you know exactly why). i LOVE when people just have junk laying around and this place has MANY junk vendors! often time they offer the best prices on retro games, and I picked up quite a bit during my most recent trip! Also, this place is DAMN HUGE. it took me nearly 3 hours to go through every single isle, and i ended up getting sunburned, but to quote a certain source of inspiration, "That's just the way Game Chasing go". WEAR SUNBLOCK! This swap meet seems to have just about everything. people selling Plants, people selling incense, people selling CD's, DVD's, Blu-Ray's, Games (DAMN RESELLER SCUM), Cleaning products/house hold products in mass quantities (what the fu-...?). Seriously, they've got it all. anyway, I picked up two platinum official nintendo gamecube controllers, both for 5 bucks together. a fair amount of filler NES games that some lady was selling, 3 for 5 bucks. picked up like, 9. A couple genesis games. 8 atari 2600 games, a dollar a piece. and the ULTIMATE prize this swap meet.... Some guy had Dragon Warrior III and IV among his junk collection (along with a few more fairly common NES games) and sold them to me for 4 bucks each. What more could you want in a swap meet. Just about anything you might be looking for is probably somewhere here. But, there is a lot to take in and sift through so it depends on what kind of shopper you are whether or not this may be the place for you. A fun, interesting, strange morning walk around awaits you. Really great for lots of cheap produce, cheap clothes and shoes, and good deals on plants. Also to be found lots of tools, comics, and books. This will be my first review, but many more swap meet reviews are in the works. I like to consider myself a connoisseur of swap meets/flea markets and thrift stores...so expect me to enjoy digging through junk to find solid items. I read the majority of previous reviews until I could take no more. I will explain this simply, first 4-5 rows from the street are mainly new items with the occasional "junk" item seller. If you come here for new items, you're probably of a different breed and shouldn't expect to be wowed. Just go to an indoor swap meet and it should meet your exact needs. Now back to the real gold. Best rows are at the very end, furthest away from Valley View. I would say the 7-9 rows from there are the best ones to find great "junk". If you aren't embarrassed, I would recommend taking a scooter and skimming through every row until you get used to where everything is at. I also recommend getting to know your favorite sellers, many are very nice people and will give you considerable discounts that they wouldn't give other customers...did I mention, free entrance, free parking?? Times to come...while you COULD find great deals extremely early, I have never gone earlier than 8:00 and found great items consistently. Actually, I recommend going at 8:30-9:00a because sellers raffle for empty spots and are allowed to setup at 8:30 the earliest, so showing up earlier would cause you to miss all these raffle sellers. I will say, I do not go for furniture, new items at new item prices, I do not go for jewelry (although there is tons here), and I do not go for the food. When I arrive, I'm strictly business with my tastes which include, electronics, vintage sunglasses and frames, old video games, cameras, records, and hats amongst other things. Majority of things I get are used and are deeply discounted. For example, I got some Vuarnet sunglasses for $2 dollars, some Technics DJ headphones for $5, and an authentic G-Shock for $9...because I didn't have the $10 he wanted. Of course many took some digging around, but for the most part you don't have to dig THAT deep. I always leave comics, books and used high end electronics behind...but there are plenty for the picking. A couple other things I heard other Yelpers mention that I recommend as well, pee/take a dump before you go...or be prepared to risk wet drawls, come alone if you can because you do not want to be rushed here (it will take 3-4 hours minimum the first few times), realize this is many people's living so sometimes they will drive a hard bargain, and bring a backpack or some sort of way to carry the many items you may find. LAST but not LEAST, go more than once! There are weeks where I find nothing, while they are far and few between...they do occur, and it can very well be the reason many people come on here and complain right away. Majority of the Elite Reviewers said it the best in their reviews. This place sells a lot of filthy "new products" that can pretty much be sold on any garage sale in your local neighborhood. That was the thing, it's like an open air collections of garage sale on every booth. It's filled with many bargain basement items that needed to be move and a swap meet like this can attract the bottom feeders who are looking for anything cheap. I have a feeling that a lot of the so called retailers or manufacturers are just selling unsold overstock items here by slashing the prices for 10 cents on the dollar for things like clothing, accessory items, bathroom and kitchen items, and bedroom stuffs that are very low end. The good stuffs are still marked at a price that you can get it cheaper elsewhere, especially on EBay. it's not just the things that are sold here that are turn-offs. It's also the "bottom-feeders" that comes here to search for their elusive bargain. it's one thing to know the price, it's another to come here with pushy and snooty attitude in thinking you know how to bargain the price down. Not everything are sold for a buck yo! It's great you can get the cost down for yourself, but it's another thing to be acting like a brat. In all reality, this is not a great place to search for anything worthwhile or a paradise for bargains. It is a free admission, but I pretty sure you can shop elsewhere and get the same price....like in a garage sale. My suggestion is to go to Santa Fe Spring's swap meet for better variety of shopping options where the vendors of much better goods are located at. --------- Look out for the booths at a parking lot at Cypress College during the weekends. I always enjoy coming to the Cypress swap meet. My favorite things to buy here are nailpolish and jackets. A lot of vendors have Revlon nailpolish on sale here for $1 or $2 which is almost $5 less than at the stores. Love it! There is one vendor that is generally located in the back by the security, and they always have the cutest dresses. I've bought a few dresses that have retailed at places like wet seal and forever 21 for a lot less than they would have cost in stores. I have also found really cute peacoats from various vendors for the winter. For the metalheads that frequent the swap meet, there's a vendor that sells a whole lot of metal shirts like Bathory and Venom. They also have a whole lot of patches for your jacket and pins too. It's always fun to go see what they have. Lastly, there's a booth with leatherworkers, who made me an amazing quality bondage belt which they custom made to my specifications. They also have high quality dog collars and other leather things. The Mustache Mike's truck is usually here, other food trucks have pho, raspados, bacon wrapped hot dogs, and lots of ice cream. My favorite things to eat here are definitely the churros! read more

In a nutshell: Come for the bargains...stay for the fun. Deep down inside, I am slowly counting down the days till I don't have to wake up early and drive 23.6 miles every weekend to sell toms, chucks, and vans for 10 hours at cost-conscious rates. Love this place!! I come here to shop for clothes and other random stuff. For clothes, it's easy to spot some vendors who are selling Forever 21 dress shirts for cheap. Like $5. They honestly have a lot of good brands for cheap prices because it may be wholesale prices or some sort. I haven't really tried bargaining with any vendors. I had a family member who did and we were able to get a Jansport backpack down for cheaper. There are also some vendors who just sell $1 things. They are the vendors who have a bunch of boxes lined up at their area. I did buy Nabi nail polish here and the quality is so good, so I trust that it's authentic. The quality is so good that I don't think I could go to a professional nail salon again as I would rather spend $2 at this swap meet for the nail polish again and do my nails myself hahaha...I also did get nail polish remover. I was skeptical at first of the store since since of their nail polish removers had more liquid than others. However, my bottle of nail polish remover also did its job well. As for food, I'm not sure how much I trust the quality of food here, haha. It could just be a preference of mine to not eat outdoor food. There was a nice vendor who was handing out fried donuts. I like swap meets and will usually go to them if they're free (or super cheap admissions) or if I just happen to see one around me. My friends and I had just eaten lunch and the Cypress Swap Meet was happening across the street so we decided to check it out and burn some of our lunch off in the process. Honestly, the only real good thing about this particular Swap Meet is that it is huge and it is completely free. There is plenty of parking too so you don't even have to worry about that. Location is something that they have for sure. But the actual items up for sale? Eh it's definitely closer to trash and junk than actual hidden gems and treasures. I'm all for browsing and finding bargains but there just isn't much here. Everything just seems broken and old (and not in the good way, the vintage way) and nothing is organized or even clean. I didn't even think the bargains were all that great except for maybe the fruit and vegetables vendors. But if I wanted to shop for groceries, I would have just gone to my local Farmer's Market. I think this is one Swap Meet that I'll pass up on next time, but if you want to browse through trash then be my guest. 2/5 read more

The reason I give it 4 stars is because we would've liked to see more food options, but I get that that isn't the point of the event. I really like this outdoor swapmeet. I took my grand-daughters here and they loved the place. I bought 'tamarindo' sweet candy in the cup and it was good. This swap meet is not all that! Nothing but repetitive items in different booths and vendors. The only interesting booth we found was with the army surplus and vintage knick-knacks. I was kind of bummed that they did not sell any plants lol. You're better off at Goldenwest swapmeet or even Long Beach veteran's flea market Oh, it's in the parking area of Cypress College, and after the event is done, this whole place is trassshed!! read more

By far, one of the bestest-est swap meets that I've been to. First off, its free to get in so already I was sold. Secondly, its bigger than most (that's what she said). Went here cause I needed incense and didn't want to go to the head shop to buy overpriced incense. I remembered that my mom would get her incense from the swap meet so decided to give it a whirl. I ended up buying about 22 sticks for $2 and a bundle of sage for about a dollar from the Jamaican dude. Very friendly too I might add. I have been here a few times and I feel like I have yet to really dig deep into what everyone has. I didn't find that the vendors were rude rather than the people that were shopping around not watching where the fuck they were going. But, meh, whatever. read more

Oh, Cypress swap meet, how you make traffic on Valley View a b**** on weekends........it's okay 'cuz you're still worth going through the madness. I think most of the people that come here go for the food, cheap produce, supplies, shoes, or 5 for $10 underwear, but in my opinion, the back part is where the real treasure lies. Have found some real, quality, and vintage gems here, but it takes work and time digging for it. It's good to get to know some of the vendors. They may look tough shouting "PASALE!" and "BARATO!", but most are nice. STORY TIME: My husband sometimes sports an impressive handlebar mustache. Well, he shaved it off and started growing it again recently. While we were interested in buying a vintage item, the vendor came up to him, gave him a typical price for it, asked him if he used to have that handlebar mustache, and started making conversation. My man haggled for a waaaay lower price, and the vendor agreed instantly. Lesson of the story, mustaches can get you sweet deals! There is a peanut dude that looks intimidating. Don't worry, he is just really passionate about his roasted peanuts. Never tried them, but the peanut shells all over the concrete suggest that it is very popular. If you don't mind digging through boxes and getting your hands dirty (and maybe even sticky), then this is your place. Think of it as a huge yard sale. It's not for everyone. Sometimes, this swap meet smells like manure. Maybe it's coming from the college fields or apartments nearby. Who knows? Like I said, not for everyone. Wear a hat, use sunscreen, bring wipes for your hands, and hopefully find good stuff. Forest Gump says it best...."you never know what you're gonna get." read more

Entrance is free, parking is free, but my time is not. I venture in to these swap meets with an open mind but there is no way to cover up the fact that this place is not worth going to. It was fairly easy to hop over after school to take a look around but from what I saw, mainly junk and garbage (literally) make up the swap meet. This a classic " y una personas de basura es otro tesoro de las personas" swap meet. One persons trash is another persons treasure. It's as if everyone just dumped their garage into the parking lot at Cypress college and put "se vende" on it. Tools, trash, trinkets, womens fancy schmancy undergarments, you name it. I like it for the cheap used tools. Why go to Home Depot or Harbor Freight? A set of mis-matched golf clubs? Vinyl LP record of the sound track for the movie FM? 500,000 BTU burners for cooking who knows what? I saw this and so much more. I even bought a pound of fresh roasted, moldy peanuts that tasted good until I bit into a real gnarly one. Orange County Fairgrounds Marketplace this ain't. Good place to go once in a while to find treasures you didn't know you needed. On top of that, the vendors don't laugh at me when I throw down my spanglish. Instead they say "Qué onda güero? I used to come here and occasionally find a little treasure. The place has become a total waste of time. No diversity anymore, mainly one ethnicity among the sellers. Half of the vendors start packing up by noon. Nothing but junk being sold, unless you're looking for Latin music. Half the vendors are selling items they find it $.99 stores and marking up. I have been to this swap meet a few times, and I enjoy going to it. There are a lot of brand- new items that are for sale at very low prices. I enjoy buying the 30 for $1 incense sticks, and you get to pick out any 30 you want. I also go here to buy $1 hair clips, they are the sturdy kind that don't break or go weak. I really enjoy going to this swap meet. I like to buy stuff I can get at a dollar store, and not have to pay for sales tax. Yay! One thing that sucks about this swap meet is the parking. This swap meet is cool because it's free, however there is a lot of junk to weed through before you find what you're looking for! It recently expanded and got a little bigger which is nice, but this place is huge! I've purchased quite a few things here and have always been happy with my purchases. Me and the kids only come here to eat lol. $3 snowcones are good and you can pick 3 flavors. $2 churros are ok. What I really love is there empanadas with I think sour cream and cojita cheese sooooo delicious!!!! My son found a booth that sells cheap video games. CHEAP ..those are like $300-$500 at the pet stores for a metal one that well made!!!! for $85 all you are getting at petco is a one story crappy plastic cage...screw that....come here for a well made huge cage for wayyyyyy CHEAP!!! they have different colors. As far as swapmeets go, this one is decent. Huge. I've lived in Cerritos since 1988, and last weekend was my 1st ever trip to the Cypress Swap Meet. I was surprised by the free parking. People and vendors were friendly and nice. I picked up some silver coins for cheap from a dude named "Steve." And there were lots of cheap toiletries, batteries, cell phone holsters I could have used earlier. Lots of things that I could use here for cheap, stuff to browse, and you get good exercise. Plenty of free parking and free admission. Just be prepared to walk. Think of it as a slight workout. read more

Where else can you buy toothpaste , deodorant, household needs, toilet paper, detergent, and many other essentials for only a dollar or two? Found some great bargains! You can find everything that you need... from underwear to tools. Seriously... made me want to bring my junk from home and set up a booth! The clothing is not bad, a lot were from Forever 21, and marked down... $5 for skirts and shirts. The only thing I would stay away from buying is personal care products and packaged food items... who knows where they have been stored and in what weather conditions. Good vibe at the swap meet... and there are food stalls scattered throughout. So, snack and shop away! The manager is a really great guy showing all the qualities of a first class manager. This reflects down to his entire staff. Even the security guard that I met, was a very pleasant guy. I'll expand a lot on this review later, but I just wanted to say I LOVE this swap meet. Like 15,000 garage sales compressed into a few large parking lots. A lot of the stuff is really sketchy. One of my first times here, we found some dude selling Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's stolen bass/guitar heads/cabinets. He had no idea what they were and they were all printed with the BRMC logo on the sides/tops. He was going to sell us all of them for like $250 or something insanely cheap, but CASH ONLY of course. None of us were carrying that kind of cash on us or a way of getting them home so we had to keep walking. You can also find the usual assortment of fake Louis Vuitton fanny packs, cool Metallica/Misfits/Brujeria garb, used bikes, mattresses, Mickey Mouse trinkets, Mexican candy, Skechers, hot dogs and sno-cones, used (presumably stolen) dvd collections, etc. Thousands and thousands of old records as well. read more

A little bit out of the way but it's free and the parking is free too so it's a nice place to kill some time on a weekend. So my coworker goes here EVERY weekend and she always finds incredible deals here (I'm going on her word on this). I went here one day and all there was was trash... really. So I'm thinking... what the heck?! How is it possible that every weekend, she can find stuff and I can't see a single worthwhile item? Well, I'm thinking the secret is to come here extra early. I got here close to noon... by then, all the good stuff is gone. She gets here as soon as it opens. So I'll be stopping by here again, bright and early and I'll let you know what I find. Oh, so the items you can find here range drastically. Of course, produce but you can also find clothes, drug store items, collectibles, furniture, jewelry, electronics, etc. I'm thinking some items are stolen but most are purchased from auctions and wholesalers. read more
