I gave it two stars because of a young female doctor who is really nice. I expect to make an appointment and not wait for more than 10 minutes, tops. Here, you have to wait for about an hour. Too many patients for a small group of workers. They seem to be monopolizing Leominster, Gardner and surrounding areas. I drive 45 minutes down south of Massachusetts instead of coming here, a luxury I can afford. My heart goes to those that unfortunetly are "stuck" with them due to insurance, limited transport or personal circumstances. Go elsewhere if you can do so. read more

Both me and my wife are patients. Called after Jan 1st and made appointments for the both of us. I need to discuss cataract surgery as can no longer see clearly in one eye, with or without my glasses. They have now cancelled my appointment three times. They are also stating I may need to travel to one of their locations outside of my area. I'm looking for a dependable eye doctor! read more

I went there for a specific referral regarding an urgent medical condition and I was treated very well, my record was reviewed thoroughly and I got a clear and professional assessment of my situation. That being said, this office serves a diverse group of people and while the receptionist is helpful she could have a more welcoming demeanor given the stress that many of the customers are under as humans living in the surrounding area. Dr. Bor-Shavit is rude and very uncaring. She performed laser surgery (which I had before) and the pain was immense. She refused to stop - it was a personal assault and torture. It was like she was stabbing me in the eye. It was like having surgery done without anesthesia. I had to ask her to 2 or 3 times to stop. She was not happy and shouted at me that this is what needed to be done, and I just had to deal with it. I shouted back asking for some relief and that's when she threatened me with an under the eye injection, pointing to where the injection would take place, in such a tone that I was frightened. She did this twice. I was never so frightened in my life, and felt very vulnerable. I then began shaking and sweating, profusely and I was very close to fainting or vomiting. I was also beginning to cry. I really wanted to scream! I finally had her stop, I was drenched in sweat, and trembling. I finally got her to stop, and wasn't sure I could walk. She couldn't have cared less. I almost passed out from the pain. I have reported her to the Medical Board and should not be around patients. D'Ambrosio Eye Care could have cared less. No one called and I got a brief letter not even addressing the issues. Be very careful. read more

I saw Dr Bor-Shavit which is the Retina Specialist that works also in that Gardner and Lancaster Office. First of all let me say I have worn glasses since third grade and started wearing contacts at the age of 18 so basically my eyesight is pretty bad. I went for an extensive exam in Lancaster to be told I had holes in the back of my eyes that needed to be lasered first before I moved on to a procedure called PRK. I had the appointment with Dr. Bor-Shavit. This woman has zero bedside manners she dug her fingers into my eyes to move my eyes which was extremely painful, this was just my first appointment with her. So a couple times I just would pull away or just ask her to give me a minute to get a SIGH from her and tell me to stop moving. Now moving onto my laser appointment which was extremely uncomfortable again she stuck her fingers in my eyes literally moving my eye off to the side. A couple times I needed to take a breather, when I did and asked her, once again I got another SIGH! It was at this point I asked her why she would get frustrated at me when I just needed a minute and it was a painful thing to go through. The only good thing that came out of this is this is something that needed to be done or I would've had a detach of the retina. This doctor has no bedside manners in as it is extremely rude. She never at one point made me feel comfortable even from walking in the exam room without a hello or anything!!! So Fxxxd up! read more

My experience was good. The optometrist was friendly, efficient, and professional, the receptionist cheerful and polite. They didn't try to sell me glasses. Knocking down one star because the place is a storefront in downtown Gardner with no dedicated parking. You're on your own to find an open meter. read more

The doctor we saw was great but the person who took us into the room had the personality of a dead cat. The place seems clean and mostly professional however being taken 15 minutes late and a less than polite first person (not the woman at the desk, she was great) didn't leave a good impression... I've used D'Ambrosio Eye Care before and was a more recent client of Walmart (because my husband works there)... I needed a quick exam (Walmart couldn't get me in) for my 7D License (D'Ambrosio had one available for me). I was able to get my 7D renewed that year. A year later I found out I had cataracts and had to have Lasik eye surgery. Also done thru this office. So far so good and both eyes were taken care of last year. I do need readers to see up close for fine print. But I can see fine for driving since that is my job I'm good and happy... Thank you! read more

Absolutely horrible service. I have double vision. I purchased 2 pairs of glasses neither were done correctly and 1 pair I have not received do to the fact that they not only got it wrong, the prism's to help my double vision made it worse. I have called 3 times and keep being told that they are working on getting me an appointment with their "prism" dr. 4 weeks later and NOTHING. I have paid $400 dollars ( and insurance ) on 2 pairs of glasses. One I cannot wear and one they still have not given me. I reported them to the BBB (case # 252156). Now I have to pay over $600 ( as my insurance for the year have been used) to buy new glasses. This is so shameful and wrong. read more

This place is horrible. Girlfriend called for an appointment in early January and they said due to her symptoms they would put her in as an emergency today st 2:45. Well here it is 4:45 and we are still sitting here. She had to leave work to come here and is missing out on money made obviously. Don't come here ever! Gotta assume the office off Rte. 2 is better! read more

This is a lousy place of business in which the employees are rude and very unprofessional. I had a very BAD experience a few years back after going there to get replacement glasses due to a 4 alarm fire I had been through and had called the insurance company to confirm. They told me that I would still be able to get a replacement pair but, the old guy who fits one for glasses laughed at me in a sarcastic way and told me I was wrong. I then called the main number in Leominster and was told by a boss who oversees him that, " if I showed up for my appointment, that the police would escort me out of the building" - I find these people to be disgusting and lack compassion, good customer service skills, and true professionalism. I would not recommend this place to anyone, as these so-called professionals need to learn how to properly interact with people, keep an open mind and check out when they doubt something, not insult patients, and learn some kindness!!! I will never go to a business or deal with people from such places who don't take their mission statement seriously, as I witnessed and was further traumatized by. First time there. I had a great Doc that answered my questions, while the assistant looked like she was in pain just being there. It was my second visit on a Saturday a year later that made me look for someone else. I went in because I had had weird flashes and wanted to make sure it was nothing, plus I wanted to check my prescription and get new glasses. Well, I was told I had dry eye and prescribed some Meds that were Over $350.00 for a month, for Dry eye (which I DID NOT have), and they never tested my vision so I could get new glasses. The Doc that day, and assistant (same one) were so arrogant and unpleasant, I would NEVER go back there again. I heard others talk about them, but only after I had gone and shared my experience. Dambrosio eye care has been my family's go to for at least 15 years, but after this encounter I probably won't use them any more. I'm in the middle of building a new home so everything I own is in storage. After damaging my very expensive (over $400) Dambrosio sunglasses, I stopped in to request a copy of my prescription and pd (pupillary distance ) to get an inexpensive set made to tide me over. I had the misfortune of dealing with Tom who was extremely put out to have to look up my prescription. He even asked "What? Can't you find the one we gave you? " I explained about the move and requested the p.d., which is when he really got snide, grumbling about doing the work free for someone else to be paid for the glasses. I asked if he worked on commission, to which he admitted he did not. I then asked him which numbers represented my distance number.
