I brought a water sample to their Uxbridge store and spoke with Nick, who explained how to reset the equipment. After resetting, I emailed Nick to provide the results. He requested an appointment for a technician to inspect the equipment. A technician visited my house and spent approximately 30 minutes on the equipment before departing. I did not receive any phone calls, texts, or emails with a diagnosis. The following day, the technician returned without our knowledge and spent another 30 minutes in the backyard before leaving. Once again, no information was provided about the work performed or the reason for his return. The following day, I received an email containing an invoice for $1,300.00 for the replacement of parts. This replacement was carried out without my knowledge or consent. I contacted the store and spoke with Nick, who appeared to be unaware of the situation. His supervisor, Eliye, was summoned to address my concerns. Surprisingly, when I expressed my frustration regarding being billed $1,300.00 for work without my approval, Eliye responded that he would return to my property and install the damaged component, necessitating that I pay for the service call. During our phone conversation, I maintained that this was not an appropriate business conduct, and that B&L pools had never taken the time to comprehend my frustration. They continued to make excuses for their actions, claiming that they had been doing this for years and that I was the first person to disagree. As a licensed general contractor in Massachusetts with over two decades of experience, I firmly believe that neither I nor my contractors should visit clients' homes to perform repairs without their knowledge or consent. This practice is not only unethical but also detrimental to the reputation of any business. I strongly advise against using this company's services, as such actions have resulted in financial losses, time wastage, and frustration for me. It is evident that profit is their primary objective, disregarding the importance of building trust and maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Our initial inquiry was sent on a Saturday, but the owner, Ruy Barbosa, replied within an hour. He met us the following workday to go over our needs and discussed various options. He projected confidence at being able to renovate our deck yet maintain its overall look. He was willing to work with us and the city's historic commission to preserve some key features of the deck. During the course of the work, Ruy and his staff were responsive to questions or changes that we requested. Communication with them was great. They were eager to please us and found ways to make the project stay on-time and within budget, even when curve balls were thrown at them. Overall, they renovated our dilapidated deck boards with composite flooring. They removed heavy railings and pillars, completely overhauled the structural supports, installed the composite flooring and finally replaced the railings & pillars. Additionally, we had them pressure wash and paint the deck. The cost associated with the structural supports and flooring was very much in line with what we believed was reasonable. Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.
