They replaced our roof 7 years ago. We just had a very tiny leak at our skylight and we asked that someone take a look. The assessment was made, without even going up in the roof, that we needed a whole new skylight for over $2000. It was discovered by someone else that it was merely a flashing issue for a fraction of the cost. Highly disappointing and disheartening. read more

We had repair work done in 2 areas: 1) replace siding around a garage door which was done to our satisfaction. 2) repair a minor water leak in a front house dormer. The leak was repaired but the area underneath the dormer was left unfinished and without any roof shingles with the metal flashing showing. It is noticeable and does not match the other dormer. We called the company, they refused to return to inspect the work then later demanded more money to return. They did not return or contact us. We reported Jancon to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB contacted them twice but they failed to respond either time in any way. We had unfortunately paid the bill in full before realizing the roof work was not completed. They offered no compensation. Do not pay this company anything without a thorough finished work inspection. read more

We had our siding (and a sliding door) replaced by Jancon recently. We were really impressed with the overt commitment to quality of everyone involved. From quote to job completion, Jancon was constantly communicating and keeping us up-to-date. I think we were most impressed by the personal commitment to quality that the crew displayed. Jancon exteriors did major renovation - to the tune of $96k - to our house in Dover, MA. They lied about everything. Convinced us to put additional insulation in the rafters, promised no icicles - I got icicles bigger than the house in the winter. The deck is awful - they didn't lay the beams right. The foot railings broke - and they refused to fix them. They painted the house - it's already peeling and the rusty nails are showing through. They also spent three years promising to fix some of these things - and now the owner tells me "not to bother him". Avoid at all costs!! I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with Jeff and Jancon to the point of being STUNNED after the amazing garden window install they just completed. A few years ago after buying my first house in Oct, the home flooded in a Feb snowstorm that resulted in ice dams. I was devastated as it ruined my new carpets, floors, walls, etc. Jeff was out there in a ONE DAY, sent a quote and replaced my roof, siding and flashing within one week working seamlessly with my insurance company. Now in the face of the pandemic and the incredibly difficulty in getting building supplies, Jeff works for months to order, demand and track my new window. His guys installed it today and it is stunning. Clean, neat, prompt and incredibly courteous. Lined the entire kitchen in sheeting to protect items on the other side of the room. New gorgeous window looks like it was built with the house! I cannot say enough except that he has three more projects coming down the line due to his diligence and commitment. I had a previous 5-star review. I am reviewing again, as this has been a frustrating company to work with. Mostly because they seem to do high quality work, but mistakes have piled up. Small mistakes, but annoying. I had Jancon do my siding and gutters around my whole house. It came out great. My house looks beautiful, functions well, and everything is of extremely high quality. However... Issue 1: the crew put on the wrong shutters. I had sent over the correct shutter type in writing. Jeff, the owner, was incredibly responsive. He rectified the issue in days, sending out a crew to put on the right shutters. Awesome - I was happy. Mistakes happen - no worries. Issue 2: one downspout came disconnected from my siding 3 days after they attached it. Again, things happen - I get it. I reach out to my salesperson, no response. Then I call the assistant in the office - she forwards it to Jeff, Jeff responds a few days later and gets someone out there a week or two later. Okay, great. Issue 3: I had my gutters cleaned later by a different company, only to find out the caulking behind my gutters was done inadequately. It's not the biggest deal, but it leaves my fascia vulnerable to additional water penetration and rot. I reached out a couple days ago and have not heard back. Again, Jeff seems to be awesome - a stand-up guy and one of the rare owners I have personally interacted with. However, I am tired of hunting down small fixes. And they are probably tired of me. I wish I didn't have to keep addressing things that I paid good money to have done. read more

Jeff Swahn of Jancon Exteriors and his crews do quality work. We previously hired an out-of-state contractor that was supposedly qualified in the installation of James Hardie siding. Well, it turns out the job was a total fail; sloppy workmanship and did not follow specifications, leading to water and insect intrusion. The owner and his son are complete idiots. Jancon Exteriors stepped up and redid the work the previous contractor screwed up. The difference in professionalism and skill could not be more different. The Jancon crew did what the other crew could not do. They replaced the trim and re-shingled the roof to specs. After such a horrible experience with the previous contractor it was a pleasure to work with the Jancon crew. Lessons learned: never use an out-of-state contractor, never use a contractor that uses sub-contractors, and never use a contractor that does not stand behind their work. Very happy with the new roof and soffit vents that were installed on my house by Jancon. Their quote was higher than the other company I contacted but the professionalism, thoroughness, and communication of Jancon made it worthwhile. Do not use this company, they did my house and while they were working they did not bring in a dumpster, they threw all the old siding and trash in my back yard where it sat for days after the job was done and it wasn't cleaned up until I called to ask when they would be coming. They left nails and siding pieces in my yard and driveway that I had to clean up, they left nails and siding pieces in my gutters. They did not reattach my back door or back gate when they finished, my son had to do the door. There are issues with the trim that they have sent guys here to look at and who agree 100% the trim looks like it was done by amateurs and promised to come back within a few days and fix it, first guy came in August and never came back, I contacted Jancon so they sent another guy out who said he would be back within a few days, it's now November 21st and no one has come back. They are not reputable, they do not do as promised and once they have your money in hand you no longer matter. There are many companies who will stand behind their work, call your local town building department and ask them about companies who have pulled permits, they will tell you if they have had complaints. I would prefer to give no stars but it won't let me. read more
