On the morning of April 22nd, I contacted the dealership to confirm that the vehicle was still available and was informed that it was. I then began working with a representative named Brandon, to whom I submitted a finance application to verify my pre-approval with my bank. At 12:02 PM, I received a consent form outlining the agreed-upon terms: $500 down and $397 per month. I signed and returned the form at 12:12 PM. By 2:22 PM, I was informed that all necessary documents were complete and the next step was for me to visit the dealership to finalize the purchase. I confirmed I would arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 PM, but due to a last-minute Uber cancellation, I arrived at approximately 6:46 PM, after spending $62 on transportation. While en route, I received a phone call asking me to verbally confirm that I was still coming to complete the purchase, which I did. Upon my arrival, I was informed that the vehicle had been sold to another customer--a white family--who had arrived just 10 minutes before me. I was not contacted or given any indication that the vehicle might be sold to another party, despite having completed all required paperwork and even purchasing insurance for the vehicle in anticipation of taking it home that evening. This experience was not only extremely frustrating and embarrassing--especially as it occurred on my birthday--but it also raised serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of the transaction. I felt disregarded and discriminated against, and I am seeking a formal response and resolution to this matter.
