Schaefer Automative gives that old school vibe. Checkered-pattern floors with the red and black diner sofas. There is a small, classic model car display and a license plate ceiling...that's still being added to! When it comes to service, Steven is great with listening to what you need done to your vehicle, even if you are not car smart. His customer service is the same over the phone as it is in-person. I was allowed to speak my thoughts and expectations with the technician working on my car. Mark was receptive and willing to take the time to talk with me about everything concerning my car and even the culture of the businesses. Schaefer Automotive cares about their customers and the service they provide. The only downside is you have to make an appointment well in advance....because everyone likes to come here! I leave work at 5:30pm and hear a scraping sound, I hit the highway and it gets louder, I pull over at the first exit and discover that they didn't attach my skid plate. Thankfully I had AAA, called them and they had to send out two trucks since the first one couldn't repair it. They were going to tow my car until the serviceman was able to do a quick fix on the side of the road. By this time, I had spent over 2 1/2 hours on the side of the road in 90-degree heat on a Friday night where I had dinner plans (these plans were obviously missed). I get home at 8:30pm, a normal 30-minute drive taking 3 hours. I send them an e-mail detailing how they forgot to bolt on my skid plate. Monday they call and I'm told that as long as they have an open bay available, they should be able to get my car in. "What?!" You botch the job and then you're not even guaranteeing that you'll be able to get it fixed the next time I bring it in? They have on their site that they will pick your car up and return it to you, they do not offer me this service. They don't offer a refund, discount or anything, I don't even get an apology in person. The only apology I ever received was via text after they secured my plate. That apology was preceded by the sentence, "There doesn't appear to be GREAT damage to your skidplate". Oh cool, your shop's incompetence damaged my car, but at least it's not "Great" damage. They give you a 20-point inspection when you get an oil change, 6 of those items are "undercar", but apparently nobody noticed a loose skid plate! Which pretty much makes this whole inspection completely worthless as I don't trust it. To put your family name on this business and offer such a crap service is unfathomable to me. I will never come here again.

Now raving about and sharing my experiences with people to places I love. MeckFessel's Auto and Tire would be one of them. I have brought in my car 10+ times at this point, from oil changes to larger mechanical issues. This business can do it all. An overall diagnostic will be done first on your vehicle, followed by a report with confirmed prices. Then you will approve before anything is completed.
