I hate car dealers as much as attorneys. They promise you the world then screw you in the end. We bought from D & P before so when our 2014 Toyota Sienna died in front of towers funeral home, we decided to go see Phil. He went and picked up our van and said even though the engine was shot he'd use it as a trade in. We told him exactly what we were looking for and about a week later he called us to come see the vehicle he picked up at the auction. It was perfect. He took another week taking care of everything. New tires, breaks and whatever else he does. Bought a car from D& P and although the sales experience was okay. I found out after purchase that I should have checked the prices with Kelly book because I overpaid for the car and got ripped off on the trade in. Phil said he was scrapping the car that I traded in when a month later my sons friend called my son to tell him that his car was on the D& P lot for sale. Phil put it on his lot after giving me very little as a trade because it was just going to be scrapped. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because they were convenient and did free oil changes with a used car purchase. Also I hate writing negative reviews. It's not a pleasant thing for me to do. I simply want to say what I learned in business law 101. That is caveat emptor. Buyer beware! read more

HOWEVER, I have had my car for five years and I haven't used it once because I bought quality from D&P. We brought a car (Infiniti QX60) to sell to him and he gave us a very fair price, which was a little higher than the dealerships were offering (since they would have sold to auction) and therefore worth our while to bring it to him instead (where he re-sells it on his lot directly). Visited D&P a few weeks back at the beginning of my car search. Very happy with the variety of used cars, they had exactly what we were looking for! Great new building filled with cute auto memorabilia. We were there early in the day and were greeted promptly and had all our questions answered. We ended up not buying the car we looked at because we decided to lease a new car instead. Only negative part of the experience was the owner talking bad about other dealerships in the area. I don't care at all for those kind of games, just care about customer service and a fair price. read more

The owner is very nice and all but his son is terrible. Like previous comments I should of checked the kelly blue book value. To put it into prospective I paid, I believe it was $19,000 for a car that's trade in value is $8,000. Kelly blue book said I could get at the most $12,000 for it. I paid $19k for a car with there 2 year warranty and if you get repairs from them expect to leave the car all day and not call you and tell you that it is ready. I brought my car there for a few things, the wiper blades would only work on the last two settings, my transfer case broke after about 7 months, and the one to top it all off was my heated seat would get so hot it would burn you. They fixed my transfer case and that was the simplest repair if you can believe it, the owner helped me with that problem. It was a long time ago so I can't remember how long it took. Now my wiper blades and my heated seat were busted when I bought it, not a big deal didn't bother me. I delt with the son on these two and boy is he a scummy dealer in the making. So I told him that the stick for the wipers itself seems to be functioning perfectly and that I believe that the problem is internal, what does he do? Replaces the stick. And I told him about the seat as well. So he sits in it and guess what he said and I quote, "Wow you're right it does get pretty hot but that's how ford makes them". I'm sorry, what? You expect me to believe that Ford makes all there heated seats so hot they they burn your ass? okay, gotcha. At that point I've been there all day waiting 7 hours, that was the first time I was there and it was simple repairs so I figured I would wait an hour or two. I was pissed so I left with a seat that gets hot enough to burn you and guess what else, wipers that only work on the last 2 settings. So that was seven hours of nothing. I make another appointment to drop my car off to fix my wiper blades and heated heat again because the seat is getting even hotter now. That visit went a little smoother. I was helped by the son again and he fixed my wipers thankfully but told me and I quote, again, "there's nothing to fix, that's how ford makes them"... I was there a month later cause the seat got too hot and overheated and wouldn't turn on. After that it was pretty smooth to be honest the transfer case broke, and they fixed it, they never charged me for any of the parts or labor for any work that was done. Then again they did over charge me by a couple thousand dollars. Oh well I mark it off as life lesson. read more

My experience was initially good but I feel like they did scam my family a bit. I was bought a used dodge stratus at 17 and didn't know much then, so myself or my grandparents didn't even think to use car fax or Kelly blue book. The car was in a lot of accidents prior, some major, and we paid the like 15 thousand because it had only 40 ish thousand miles. It lasted great during the one year warranty period but over the last 5-6 years it has given us SO many issues, breaking down, new exhaust system, fuel pump, breaks, you name it. Probably cost over 10,000 in repairs, and I've only put 30 thousand miles on it. I was hit in a minor accident 100% their fault and it was deemed totaled because the value was so low. I can only speak on my experience but I feel like he really took advantage of my grandparents and I by selling us the car for that that price and now that we want to get rid of it with only 70 thousand miles it's worth like 1-3 thousand after all they paid, that sucks. I guess you live and learn but I definitely would recommend getting a full Kelly blue book or car fax report and comparing the car to see if you're getting a fair price and think about how long it's gunna last you and the money needed to keep it running. read more

Just bought my second car from D&P however it is the 4th that my family has purchased. When I knew I wanted to get a new one I had gone in spoken to phil and he found exactly what I had been looking for. I loved it so much I didn't ever test drive it. D&P is not like other car dealerships you can have your own time to look at the selection of cars without being bombarded by salesmen like you get at literally every other car dealership. Buying a car from D&P feels like your buying a car from a family member Phil will sit down with you go over an entire car answering every question and. It only that but if you feel a particular car is not your fit he's understanding and knows that the people who buy cars with him work very hard to have the opportunity to buy a new car and should not need to settle. The warranty you get with the car is unlike any other around! 2 years with any issues being addressed no questions and not only that your first three oil changes are on him! You truly do not need to touch these cars service wise for a solid 2 years. I had a complete minor issue where my weather stripped became lose, without a question he said bring it in and within an hour it was fixed. If you want a car that you can trust and also have a place that has a reputation for a great garage to have the car serviced go to D&P I will never send anyone anywhere else. read more

In 2016 I purchased a 2004 Chevy corvette from D&P auto on in Merrick,NY. I had the vette for about a week when I noticed a bad water leak in the drivers side floor. I took it back to Phil the owner of D & P auto and he had it for two weeks . I picked it up and the leak was still just as bad. I took it back to Phil 3 more times and each time he had it for two weeks with the same result. I told him I was go8ng to take the car to a mechanic that I New who only worked on corvettes at Huntington Chevrolet. Phil told me to let him know what it cost and he would help me out with the cost. It cost me $3500.00 but the leak was fixed. I sent via email a copy of the bill to Phil, waited three weeks n3ver heard a word. I made copies of the bill and sent th3m to Phil and again I still haven't heard from him. So just beware ,it would have been the right thing to do by contacting me and helping with the bill. After numerous unanswered phone calls we gave up. If Anthony was unwilling to replace the armrest in our car, why did he remove it and leave the car with a gaping hole where the armrest should be ?
