I just had to get my annual NY car inspection today. It's usually a pain in the ******. But thanks to KNR AutoRepairs, the whole experience was a breeze. Rick, the mechanic, was great! Totally trust this guy. He didn't just race through this thing with me and charge me crazy numbers, but explained to me what he had to do and why. For example, when he noticed my brake pads needed replacing, he actually walked me into the garage and showed my pads STILL in my car, so I could see & measure them myself. This reminds me of the kind of service I used to get back in the 1980s when businesses were run by people, and not huge corporations. Also, I have to mention Katie, who was the front office worker/receptionist. What a sweetheart. She recommended a place for me to get breakfast & was so friendly & welcoming. Scheduled an appointment here for a CARCO photo inspection. When I arrived the employee's wanted to close early and decided they will not take pictures of the care. They put me at risk of losing my insurance coverage. No remorse or concern on their end. Took the day off to care for this issue. Response to owner: I did see CARCO hours. Arrived in that time frame. Additionally this was a scheduled appointment, I called your directly to schedule and it was within the time frame you perform photo inspections. Stay away...they seem very helpful and attentive at first...then the charges start adding up...and the "well we also found that..." Called on weekday to ask if needed appointment on Saturday for an inspection. Was told no, just come by anytime during business hours. Business hours for Saturday are listed 730AM-4PM however on arrival at 130PM on Saturday the business was closed. Disappointing practice. read more
