Omg. Went on Saturday and met owner. So nice and helpful. He told me to come back on Monday to evaluate my noisy suspension. I was first at the shop at 7:30. I spoke to someone else and walked approximately 1 mile away! At 10 AM I called to inquire about my car. He said it was the lower control arm. I said ok. Price? He said give me a couple of hours. I said ok. At 1, no call so I drive there in my other car. I said well? He yelled at me and complained that he has lots of cars to provide estimates. I said if you don't want to fix it say it! He said give me a hour to get a price. By 4:30 I had enough. Picked up cat. A waste of a day. I went to my old repair shop that's far from my new residence he check the entire car out and said that their prognosis of repairs was totally false!!! Good luck Thank god I took my car away. Poor management and mechanical skills related to BMW It's amazing how management can hide from the reality of the truth nor apologize for the nonsense I dealt with. If nothing was wrong with my car why quote me $800 to change a part that actually is not faulty! No professionalism at this place. You guys are characters! read more

The Old Gray Mare ain't what she used to be! I have been going to Dominick's auto repair for about a year and a half and the service, pricing, customer care and most importantly honesty are now missing. These values were once the hallmark of this repair shop, under the owner Dominick, who is also the main mechanic. Around 6 months ago, they brought in a manager (Anthony) to handle the customer contact, pricing and paperwork. What a mistake and let me tell you why. Now, I own around 5 vehicles including some classic cars, a 68Mustang, 91 Toronado and 2003 Escalade Ext pickup truck. I most recently took my Escalade in for some repairs and an inspection, Anthony told me that I had a "major" transmission problem as there was a code that indicated an issue. He took it over to their local transmission place they recommended and they indicated that I needed a rebuilt tranny for $3,800. Anthony also advised that this wasn't a bad price as he has seen people pay over $5,000 on a transmission to pass inspection. He also indicated that the cost of the repair, the heretofore mentioned $3,800 was inclusive of $400 Dominick's would be getting as a bonus for driving it an 8th of a mile to the transmission shop. Now I probably spent around $7,000 in various repairs over the past year and a half at Dominick's and Anthony feels justified making an additional $400 on me as a referral fee! This is bad business. As a result, I walked into another local shop who indicated that the code was probably an anomaly and it was was reset to see if it would return. It didn't. Furthermore, the new repair shop had their transmission shop diagnose the problem and the transmission was fine. So, I spend $37 on an inspection with an honest and reputable shop and saved $4,000!!! Beware of ANTHONY as he is one of those "bean counters " who wants to count his beans while stealing yours. I shall NOT RETURN! read more

I do a lot of my car work myself-- everything from wipers and bulbs to brakes and drive belts and more. Somethings arent worth it- like oil changes; Some things are out of my league like shocks and struts, ac work, anything that needs a lift etc. I've worked in the auto industry with repair shops in my career and have seen dishonesty, including working for a high end, well know multi brand luxury dealer locally, but this place is NOT one of them. They are honest and priced well. Shops can easily oversell you-- they will change out the parts but you didn't need them. Beyond honest, Work here is quick and clean. Mechanics and front desk are polite and not salespeople. Keep it up! read more

The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I stopped in one morning because I had put a donut on my car and it needed air. Dominick stopped what he was doing to fill my tire with air and he explained to me that the tire looses air from sitting over a long period of time. I was on my way in less than 2 minutes and I got to work in time. I went in expecting an oil change, the thing they really changed was my mood. GREASE: They got grease all over the inside of my car. The steering wheel, the inside of the door, the floor. They even got grease on the grease I keep in my car. Wait, I don't keep grease in my car! What a mess. The inside of my car was so dirty I thought for a second that I paid them to do this as a service. CUSTOMER SERVICE MAT: They left their filthy paper mat in my car which was also covered in....you guessed it GREASE! I've gone to places where they kept the mat in the car before but this mat was so greasy it looked like it was doing an impression of John Travolta's head. (Grease reference). I can only assume the 'We care about our customers.' on the mat was sarcastic. WAS I EVEN THERE?: I stood in the waiting box for about 20 minutes before someone decided I was alive. I don't know why mechanics try to make you feel like an idiot for coming to their shop. But that's their thing, I guess. Nice waiting box though, they had a chair in it, I think. $36 OIL CHANGE: $36 dollars for an oil change? That's a little high for a garage. I could even tell they felt bad because first they charged me $38, saw I was paying with cash, and then knocked it down to $36. Look, I'm already busy enough trying to find a working HBO Go Password and non-GMO produce, I don't have time to haggle for oil changes. QUICK TURNAROUND: They took me in right away and proceeded to pour grease on my steering wheel. In and out in thirty minutes. FINAL SCORE: Scientology read more

Been going to Domincks ever since I moved to Long Island... He came highly recommended from my in-laws, my neighbors, and even strangers that would come in to the bar I was working in. You an always count on them to be honest, quick, and usually much cheaper than any other quote you'd get. I always suggest to my friends that they at least bring their cars in for a quote before they get any work done somewhere else. I've been using Dominick's for over 8-10 years I have Extreme plumbing and all my personal cars. Dominick is such a great guy and a excellent mechanic, but most of all very honest to say the least. Phil is another great guy and as a matter of fact, last week I brought my truck in, my personal Ram to get some work done and I ordered two new tires for the front of my truck. They called my up to get the lock for the tires that I had I'm back hidden. All went great and work was done as always promised and at a fair price as always. When I got there later on and got in my truck there was 2-100 bills on my dashboard, so I called them and asked about it, they found the money where my tire lock was and left it for me, easily could have been taken and I would have never knew who did it. Need I say anything more, all the guys here are trustworthy and truly appreciated by myself and my company!!! read more

I've found this to be a highly reputable auto repair shop over the years. They make time to fit you in whenever possible. But more importantly, they do not make repairs if they are unnecessary. I'm relatively new to the area and didn't yet have any recommendations on an auto repair show so I went here based on Yelp reviews. I had a slow leak in a tire and was concerned there might be a nail or hole in it. I called ahead to ask if they could squeeze me in to have a look at it, and it was no problem. Dominick, the owner himself, took care of checking my tire. He found two nails and fixed the tire very quickly. Even though I could see they were busy I was in and out in approximately half an hour. Needed a new mechanic because my old one moved out of state. Decided I'd try out this repair shop based on 3 reviews here since I just needed a NYS Inspection on a '99 4Runner with 186,000 miles on it. This old gas station turned repair shop doesn't look very impressive, and they probably could have easily fabricated that some things needed to be replaced on my high mileage vehicle in order to pass inspection, but the place was completely honest. The receipt even listed the brakes as still having half their life left, some slightly loose steering but normal for this old a vehicle, and a heads up regarding some stabilizer bushings that were starting to show wear. They even gave me a quick turnaround. Based on today's experience, I'll definitely be bringing our 3 family cars to this station for any future repairs. I'm glad I tried this place out. read more

Professional and friendly. My boyfriend needed a last minute inspection so I yelped someone local who would be open on a Saturday. I called and a really nice woman answered. She was able to book us last minute. We arrived and were out in less then 20 min. The mechanic was great as well. Not to mention we received a coupon for checking in.
