If I could give less than one star I WOULD. One tech came out charged me for a hour and a van fee, put on a part that I could have got for 30 bucks charged me 90 and was here for 20 minutes at the most. Heater ran for 12 hours. Had to wait another week till I had a day off because they where not making appointments so I had to wait for a call. Guy spent 2 hours on his phone to come up the chimey was froze up. Looked at it and yes it had ice on it but was still putting out. He put the ladder up and I had to climb up there myself to defrost it. Worked for less than 4 hours. And this was during our first really bad cold spell. Called Action Mech he came in layed on the floor and said you have just one I can see right now a crack in my heat exchager. Furance was shot! Two techs didn't get that. Asked mulitiple times to talk to the ower, no luck. Even emailed and still no call. Never use them even if you call them to change a litter box because they can't do it. read more

I spoke with Mark about my window AC unit to see if it was repairable or not and he was super honest and told me it would probably be best to buy a new unit. He could have taken advantage and roped me in to unnecessary repairs that might not even have worked that well and snowballed in to the price of a new AC but didn't. I was recently sent an invoice and I paid it reluctantly. Pretty amazing that I spent over 130$ on the house call for the technician to tell me that the furnace needs a part that would have to be ordered and total initial quote for the job would be over $1,000.00. My other option was to have my furnace completely replaced and was being pushed for this option by their technician. Luckily I went with my gut and I paid another company to come out and give me a quote. I had the part replaced and was heating my home in a few days for less than $500. My frustration stems from paying for someone to tell me I needed to pay MORE money than necessary, being upsold by being told my other option is having an entire unit replaced. I will not be using D&R services again. I will continue to get second opinions because I know there are companies and individuals out there like D&R and the technician who take advantage of people that do not do their homework. Poor business in a time where customer service has gone down the tubes. read more

I came home from 5 weeks away to find no heat and snow falling. I thought I could tough it out with one small space heater, closing doors to keep the heat in the main area, but decided to give D & R a call anyway. They were at my home within an hour and less than 2 hours later their tech Larry had solved the issue and got the place all toasty & warm! I never thought I could get anyone to come out on such short notice but D & R came thru like champs & the same day I called had me up & running! I cannot recommend D & R highly enough....heading into winter now in Rapid City & am a happy & warm camper! read more

The lady on the phone was rude and condescending. She claimed no one was home when the tech supposedly tried to assist us. My husband and I were both home all day and my husband was even on the front porch when they called claiming we weren't home. I'm not sure how we could have been more available for their services. read more

Called to look at furnace. Was told it would be 80 to come look at it. Technician was here for 10 mins and said he couldn't fix it and wanted to sell me a new furnace for 4k. I had another company look at it and they fixed it for 250 dollars. Then D and R billed me for 250 dollars for just looking at it after they said 80 to look at it.. Save yourself money and time and stay away from this company. They are used car salesmen and rip offs. read more

Based on YELP reviews I contacted D&R the week prior to July 4th requesting a Service call and new Thermostat purchase and install. Advised I would get a call back the end of the holiday week to schedule. That didn't happen so I followed up on Tuesday the week following the holiday. When I called to jog Darlene's memory, she promptly advised there were clients without working systems. I advised I absolutely understand, but would like to get an appointment on the books for a couple weeks out if possible. I stated my system still needed to be done and I was willing to wait, however, I did not want to be waiting in limbo without a scheduled appointment date. She advised she had to place me on hold. When she returned, she took me off hold and immediately disconnected the call. WOW! read more

My folks are in their late 80s and Dad has Parkinson's so the heat this weekend was played a roll on them when the AC went out. By chance I bumped into someone from A&R yesterday and so I thought of them first today. Alec was prompt, very professional, and demonstrated an excellent technical ability even though it was a simple repair. Nothing like my experiences with the other guys in Rapid City. In the future, I will not hesitate to call A&R. read more

I can't do a less than 1 star rating for this company so the 1 star is generous. The price of the replacement was higher than what I could have bought the part for from Amazon. They charged for 1 1/2 hours labor when they were here less than an hour. And when questioned one of the owners and the person answering the phone were very rude. Experience I have no desire to repeat. read more

So I Called D&R services for a quote on a new furnace and A/C. They came out and put a quote together it was the middle of summer and it has been a cool summer so no real need to make a change yet. SO fall has come on and finally the Furnace that is 20 years old broke down. Called them up and Lonnie the owner said he would fit me in. BOOM $4,000 plus for A/C and Furnace later OOHHHH wait the night before the install Lonnie calls me to confirm for the install and we start talking about the new furnace and the old one. He tells me very little has changed in the design and gave me a little education.... By the time we were off the phone he convinced me to place a service call for repair instead of replace the device. I mean come on who does that, I was ready to write the check for $4,000, instead a few hundred dollars later my house is toasty and warm. Moral of the story people make mistakes and so do businesses but integrity is always hard to come by...... I say thank you to D&R and Lonnie. read more
