Adventure Kids Summer Day Camp

Adventure Kids Summer Day Camp

Cant really say enough good about this camp. after several summer of different themed camps and…read morenever really finding one that my son enjoyed or made any friends. I found Adventure Kids at last minute after he refused to finish a session at another camp. They made room for him and after the first morning I texted and asked how he was doing. he had already been accepted into a group and was climbing rocks and exploring wind caves on Mount Diablo. he came home energetic and wanting to share his day and his friends he made . That was 3 summers ago and he has spent every week of his summers since at Adventure Kids. he's one of the seasoned pros now at camp and will be an unofficial junior counselor. he will be aging out of camps after this summer and bittersweet to move on but the memories , friends and growth as a young man he has experienced have been invaluable . Thanks Adventure Kids

Kiddie Academy of Oakley

I love all the family events. I also enjoy the teachers and director Ms. Abi. My daughter is now starting the PreK class room which I am excited to see how much more she learns. I would recommend this school to anyone but especially if you want teachers who are passionate and patient.

My 2-year-old previously attended Kiddie Academy, and unfortunately our experience was deeply…read moredisappointing and emotionally distressing. From the beginning, I received daily phone calls about my child's behavior. Instead of partnering with us or offering constructive support, the communication felt negative, with my child repeatedly being labeled as "bad." At just 2 years old, this was extremely concerning. What ultimately crossed the line was when the center contacted my child's father and informed us that our child was not welcome to return due to his behavior, without attempting a collaborative plan or meaningful intervention. To make matters worse, my child once came home with a chipped front tooth. When I asked what had happened, I was told they would get back to me. The response I eventually received was simply that "he falls a lot," with no incident report or clear explanation. As a parent, this was unacceptable. After leaving Kiddie Academy, we enrolled our child elsewhere, where he immediately began thriving. That center provided exactly what he needed patience, structure, and understanding and even recommended a smaller childcare setting, which made a world of difference. This confirmed that the issue was not my child, but the environment. I cannot fully express the emotional toll this placement took on me as a mother. I struggled to focus at work and was constantly worried about my child's well-being while he was in their care. I strongly encourage parents to ask detailed questions about how behavioral concerns and injuries are handled, and how communication with families is prioritized, before enrolling their children here. If i could rate no starts i would.

For my son's 12th birthday party, we rented a cabana for the 3 hour deluxe Aqua Park party package…read more I loved that all we had to bring were the people. The package included food, snacks, and drinks, and they let us store our ice cream cake in the freezer. This obstacle course is SO MUCH FUN. Everyone was laughing and screaming. We felt like Dude Perfect! When we got tired, there were so many options to recharge: giant chess or cornhole, watching the wakeboarders, or just sunning on the turf beside our cabana. I noticed a lot of the negative reviews are about the water quality. This is not a pool, so the water is not clear; it has vegetation; and stocked fish control for mosquitoes. Since we already read about this online, we were neither surprised nor grossed out. It was a fun day outdoors! The office staff were super warm, hospitable, and accommodating. Even as we added to our food order last minute (because I saw how active the kids were being... they were ravenous!), they flexed with our request. The pizza was hot; the fruit was refreshing. We felt so well cared for! Safety-wise, I'm glad we brought older kids, mostly very strong swimmers, and vigilant parents. The course is large, and there are spots that are invisible from the lifeguards' posts. We had to initiate with the lifeguards a few times because they weren't giving us any information/direction. (eg: Can we start? Where do we start? Any rules we need to know? Are you still on break, or can we go in again?) They did not seem to have a system for the lifejackets. They were sleepy and eager to clock out. This is the first open weekend of the season; I trust they will establish consistent group protocols as the summer goes on. We had a great time and mostly guarded our own kids. We are eager to return again someday soon! THANK YOU for such a memorable, creative, raucous birthday party in the sun!
