I chose this salon due to its 5 star ratings, but this is the worst experience I've had in a nail salon EVER! I didn't get the name of my technician, but I went in with acrylic on my nails and wanted them taken off and then get dip powder on my natural nails. This technician proceeds to take an artificial nail tip and rip off my acrylic nails (I've never seen this "technique" before) so while she's doing that it's ripping off my natural nails and causing me to bleed. She says "you wanted tips, right?" When I originally didn't, but at this point I have to because she's ripped off my natural nails. She puts the tips on and proceeds with the dip powder, when she finishes she buffs my nails and instead of just buffing the nail she is buffing over my skin, and is breaking down the skin around my nails causing me to bleed again. Her customer service skills need work, as well as her ability to be gentle with customers. She didn't apologize once, instead getting irritated with me that I was jerking my hands and saying ow. Overall my nails look decent, but it's still a one star rating due to the lack of caring from her and the other technicians around her who were well aware of my discomfort and frustration. read more

The guy who sat me in the pedicure chair was very nice and welcoming. An older woman came to do my pedicure, didn't say hello or anything, just handed me the menu and walked away. I told her I wanted the basic pedicure and she kept asking if I wanted the deluxe even though I declined 3x. Then she just looked at me crazy and tried to get me to get gel. Pushing too many unwanted services. The woman next to me somehow got wrapped up into getting a $70 pedicure and they couldn't tell her what the difference was from the basic to what she was getting besides the lavender added to the water. The nail tech didn't speak the entire time and would get mad when my feet weren't positioned how she wanted them but she didn't say a word on when she wanted them in the water, etc. She then proceeded to take all of the dead skin off and place it in the water while my feet were still in there. It was gross. She didn't push back my cuticles or file my nails. $50 for a fill in on medium length nails, with one repair and gel polish is absolutely egregious and money hungry! i started going to this shop back in 2022 every 2-3 week but by 2024 i had to stop bc it got way too expensive! every time i went i would get the same thing but the price would increase with each visit with nothing better to show for but a "complimentary bottle of water". i was a faithful customer for months but the price gouging has gotten out of hand and i refuse to give in to the greed. as many customers that come in and out, they are absolutely inflating their prices to stuff their pockets then wanna ask for a tip? nah baby your tip was that price increase. it had been a little while since i last visited so i called today to make an inquiry and was left extremely disappointed. absolutely not worth it. read more

So, normally I simply LOVE this place! Kiki, CiCi, and Johnny are incredible nail technicians and have never disappointed me. However, there is an older lady there with red hair who I am just not happy with (she never told her name and is just not very friendly). Yesterday was the second time she has done my nails, and I am very disappointed in her work...again (anyone can have a bad day, I thought she deserved a second chance). The photos were taken when I got home after my manicure. Just like she did the last time she did my manicure, she cut my skin with the dremel tool in multiple places. The paint job was so sloppy--I actually had polish on the inside of 2 fingers, as well as it being under my nails and very uneven. I normally wear coffin shaped nails, and her shaping and filing was terrible! My nails are different lengths and shapes and it looks very bad. I am so unhappy with my nails! I very plainly communicated how I wished my nails to look and she didn't even try. I will still go back here--most everyone here is really amazing and talented and friendly, but I am seriously sad and disappointed in the poor work done by the older lady with the red hair. read more

The only reason I didn't give a 5-star review was because my nail techs were a little rough and I found it almost hard to walk in some shoes the following day with my pedicure because my toes were so sore. I went here today to get a pedicure and full set on my nails. My pedicure was done by Amber. She did an excellent job. My feet look and feel 100 times better. She was polite and patient with me as it was my first visit there. Leann did my nails. She is probably the best nail tech that has done my nails in Louisville. She pays close attention to detail. ----- I went back 3 weeks later to get a fill in and a new guy did the fill in and my nails ended up lifting within days. Today I walk into D Beat Nails on Eastern Parkway I asked for a full set of nails almond shape with gel nail polish and just gel polish on my toes And was charged 95.00 y'all must be crazy. I went during my lunch time because usually after work they are pretty busy. I was going in for gel nails with a little design. I was sat down at a table immediately. They started to soak the gel from my previous mani off. I had asked before I got started if it would take more than an hour because this is my lunch break. He said it wouldn't but I was there for about an hour and 30 mins. Now usually I am in and out of there so this was unusually. I wish he took more consideration to the fact that I needed to leave but so many customers were coming in that they were spread thin. Plus, they were trying to get breaks and eat their lunch while they could. My nails turned out well but I hated that he made me late. This is my first review of this nail salon based on my first visit. I have been to several shops in Louisville, but have not been impressed with any of them whether or not it's the painting skills, lack of cuticle trimming or harsh trimming, and a total lack of removing all dead skin during pedicures. I was lucky enough to see LeAnn and as you can see by the pictures she is very good with designs. So good, that I decided to get a design on my toes which is not like me in November! What I was most impressed with was LeAnn's attention to detail. My regular express mani, $12 bucks looks like gel polish and the shape and cuticle trimming were wonderful. My hands look new! However, the best part of the experience was the pedicure which lasted at least an hour and included three scrubs, paraffin wax, hot towels, etc. Again, LeAnn was thorough with the massaging, but most importantly she got all the dead skin off my feet which were terrible! They are so so smooth and soft! I will definitely be back! read more

I am not happy at all. Pissed is more like it. I am dissatisfied with everything. I am not a picky person to say the least but I do not recommend this place at all! The guy doing my nails was staring out the window waiting for the next person to come in more than he was working on my nails. I asked for them a little shorter and they were soooo uneven from his trim down I had to ask him twice to please even them out and then he made them so thin I guarantee you they will break here soon. I told him I liked them a little too thicker because I am rough on them. He cut the side of half of my fingers open with the nail file and then when he painted them he made them look like they were grown out a week already. I asked him to fix that and he complained and tried to say he really couldn't because he would get nail polish all over my fingers!! Which he did. And half of them still look grown out!! I go here every two weeks for dip nails and they never disappoint! All of the techs are very nice and accommodating to what you want done. Today in particular I had them switch the powder color halfway through because I ended up not liking it, and they were so nice and professional about it. Did not have the best experience here, I came in with 3 friends to get pedicures hoping to come in and out because we made an appointment and it was dead when we came in. Not only did it take almost an hour to get even one of us into a chair, once we were in one it took another 45 mins for someone to even ask what color we wanted. Not even 2 days after getting my gel pedicure, 1/2 of my nail ripped off along with the gel polish on the whole nail. OK. Let me start by saying the quality is SOME TIMEY. I got my initial full Ombré done here and it was wonderful. I got a blue fill and the price was 25$(30) due to length. I also got my toes gel painted and the toes the next day where cracked AWFULLY. I came to get a fill this time and they changed the price again . did not have a good experience. I went with my 16 year old sister, we waited for almost 2 hours before they started on us. I wanted something simple with brown, clouds and little sparkles. Even though they had brown on the nail thing he said they didn't have it. We went here earlier today to give this place a try and it has by far been D'Best for us ;-) Our technicians, Bebe and Ki were very nice and friendly and we enjoyed our time there while getting pampered. I went to D'Best to get a mani/pedi before an event over the weekend and it was D'Worst. I will never go back after my experience. The salon has dirty looking towels. They looked really gross. The mani/pedi itself is not too bad. They did not do a good job of filing my nails smoothly and I've had a couple of snags. they also did not get all the nail polish stains off my fingers when they removed the polish from my last manicure. The main reason for my complaint is the extremely unprofessional employees who were working the day I was there. There were three males working and two of them had very strong opinions on everything. One of them was friendly and he did my pedicure. He asked me a few questions and we made small chat. The other chatty guy was working on two women across the aisle and he was so loud. He was trying to make joke after joke, but neither myself nor those women were amused. When it was time for my manicure the loud guy was my technician. He insisted on commenting on the other conversations going on around us and was so loud. When the topic of Bill Cosby came up both the talkative nail technicians voiced their opinion that the women "were asking for it" because they went to a hotel room with him. I said if the women did not consent then it was rape. They did not like that at all. They kept trying to get me to change my mind. I told them I did not agree with them and I never would. Then my nail tech told me that's why America is so great, because we can disagree about things but still speak our minds and then kept talking about it. Other very unprofessional conversations spoken at a high volume included: 1. How they weren't sure if Kris Jenner hooked up with OJ and Khloe was his daughter. 2. Jeffersonville and Clarksville were originally part of Kentucky and not many people know that. 3. Martha Stewart is an actress they bet she can't even cook in real life. 4. Gordon Ramsey is also an actor, because they've been to fancy restaurants a lot in their life and they've never seen anyone act like that. 5. The guy who started the Bunny Ranch is a genius because men will pay for it and it's legal there (they talked a lot about that one, that's what segued into the Khloe convo). 6. How he got thrown off a Carnival cruise ship and banned for life for throwing lounge chairs off the boat into the ocean while he was drunk (he swore a few times during that story). In addition to the inappropriate conversation, my nail tech had a coffee drink from McDonald's on the table that he was drinking from while he was doing my nails. I live nearby and I'd been here before because it is convenient for me, but I will drive the extra mile from now one because they were so awful! read more

I used to make fun of the name of this nail place. I don't anymore. I don't know that it's "D'Best" but they get the job done. Most of the nail techs are friendly. The basic pedicure service gets you a nice calf massage, exfoliating treatments, hot rags, a massage chair and your toes painted for $27. They do a great job of dealing with my problematic ingrown toenails and make my feet look pretty for about the same as the copay I'd have to pay my doctor just to deal with the ingrown nail issue. I recently moved to the area and was really looking for a place to start getting my nails done. I did a lot of research on reviews/recommendations and settled on D'Best. Let me start by saying my nails looked great in the end. I got almond shaped acrylics - loved them. They do a great job, if only their attitude was a little different. The woman who did them was completely rushed - to the point where she missed a lot of things (cutting cuticles, filing excess clippings, etc). I would have looked past that. HOWEVER, she was so completely rude to me I was near walking out. I asked a question about an accent nail and she told me "its expensive" -- oh okay, thanks for assuming my bank account balance. I think she was just too busy to do it. Then I asked another question about the accent nail and she said in a stern rude voice "I already told you". I asked her to cut my nails a little bit shorter and she told me it would look bad so she wouldn't do it. Her overall tone and rudeness completely turned me off. I will say, the men who worked there were super friendly and nice. I needed to get my nails filled in and went to Bardstown Rd Nails and they did a great job. As she was doing my nails she kept asking me where I got my nails done before because they did an extremely rushed job. Side note - Bardstown Nails was super busy and the woman had to leave me a couple of times. I didn't care as she gave such great attention to my nails. I tried giving a $10 tip and she crossed it out and said she wouldn't accept my tip because I had to wait. I'll continue to give me business to Bardstown Road Nails from here on out. read more

I Took my daughter and her friend and felt comfortable enough to go run errands, their (13-14)years old,this was the 3rd salon I stopped at in my area after the first two had a wait ,it's by far the nicest and the technicians had a very welcoming & talkative vibe.The prices were very good, I would make this my go to spot.
