Stopped in after picking up my grandson and we had a bite to eat before heading back up to Temple. Place is very nice good set connivence store on one side and then the restaurant on the other Grandson had the Grilled Cheese Sandwich which is his standard go to me when on the road. He said it was very good and he enjoyed it. Fries had just come out of the fryer so they were nice and hot for both orders. I had the Double Cheeseburger with fries ( no salt ) and they made that happen. Both burgers were big and juicy not dried out like some fast food places. It was well worth the stop best juicy burger I have had in awhile. Prices were decent and we enjoyed our time together talking no hustle and bustle like other restaurants. First visit and the restaurant was loaded with State police who were eating not addressing a problem. Took awhile to figure out how to order food and pick it up. Ordered a bacon egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and biscuits & gravy with eggs. Both were very tasty. No frills but reasonable prices and freshly made food. Recommend. read more

I decided to come try a lunch here. The breakfast tacos are awesome, but I wanted something different. It was a friend's birthday, so we decided to grab lunch. 2 of my friends ordered the daily special- Pot roast with mashed potatoes, green beans & a yummy roll. It also came with a small drink for $10.99. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger & made it a combo with perfectly cooked tots & a drink for $10.69. My other friend ordered a fantastic looking BLT & made it a combo with Tots & a drink for $9.49. Great value for what we received. You order & pick up at the counter, so basically self service. It gets 5 stars for what it is, within the category it sits: good old country food in an "I don't care" convenient location, ans it's prepared with love. If you're getting to-go, they thoroughly check your food before you head out the door because they give a dang if you got what you paid for. That's good customer service. They're nice folks. Plus, seriously, the food is good, y'all! Don't let the fact they're in a gas station turn you off from trying it. Honestly, it's a part of what makes them so convenient and unique. Besides, they have a dining area, and you can fuel up before you head out. Win/win. Needs ZERO STARS! This place closed and has re opened as B Buddies. Looks like same people and same crap. VERY dirty. What a great little place to stop and eat. The food was so good. I had a green chili burger and fries. I didn't realize until 3/4 through eating my burger that I could go to the bar that had all the fixings for the burger, but honestly it was delish without all the fixings. The fries were great; they manage their grease well! A great find. My only complaint is the girl that waited on us wasn't the most friendly. I would have given it 5 stars had she been more kind. The large Sausage jalapeño kolaches are the absolute best. You have to get there just right. Too early- they're not made yet. Too late and they are all sold out. Keep trying if you can. It will be worth the effort. Other than that, their breakfast items are all worth the stop. read more

Kinda sad I did't get to dine here. A car club friend and I ate breakfast at Jim's Restaurant in Oak Hill (southwest Austin) before meeting up with part of our group in Cedar Park. We were visiting in that parking lot when the sky opened up and we ran back to our cars and put our convertible tops up. Now communicating via walkie talkies, we waited for one last person and headed towards Florence, Texas. Parmer Lane in ATX eventually turns into Ronald Reagan Blvd before hitting 195. Luckily, the clouds parted as we pulled into D. Boones store! We met more members here who came from the Pflugerville and Georgetown area. Some of us gassed up while others headed in for a drink and a potty break. Others were eating when we arrived. Nearly packed house in the dining area. OK, some points off for the giant glass station of fried burritos, corn dogs, etc. Ordered food was flying out of the kitchen. Extremely clean restrooms and friendly staff rounded out the experience. Wouldn't have thought a Valero gas station would have such a good hamburger joint, but this place was awesome. Meat ground on-premise and was a combo of brisket and sirloin. Very tastly. Tomatoes were the freshest I have eaten out of season. I am guessing they are local greenhouse varieties. Other veggies were awesome too. French fries were fresh and tasted great. Customer service was very good and the speed in which order was delivered was great too. read more

First visit to this new location. I've eaten at the old location several times when work took me out to the Florence area. The new location is a nice stop on the new part of the highway. They have fuel and snacks just like the old one and they have a restaurant as well. They offer some good Texas foods. They have the usual things you'd expect, burgers, chicken fried steak and chicken, and the like, they even have salads. The daily special was the chicken fried chicken and that sounded perfect for lunch. It came with green beans, mashed potatoes, cream gravy and a roll. The drink was also included, which was a nice touch. The food was really good, the chicken was cooked nicely and the potatoes were very good. The roll could have been better, but the overall meal was really good. Good sweet tea too, which is always a plus. Will be back when I'm in the Florence area. read more

I love this place. Friendly staff, delicious food. I have been here a couple times they never disappoint. I have had there English muffin breakfast sandwich. They use real egg and it's so tasty and tasty. I also have had their bbq pot special with cole slaw and potato salad. This is a very fun store/cafe to go to! There are signs of fun of deliciousness around this establishment!!!! Dropped in here on my way home from the ranch that I hunt on. Just needed something to eat and was surprised to find that they had a very good burger kitchen here. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Prices were very reasonable and the fries were spot on! My cheeseburger was done perfectly, which is way more than I expected from a restaurant tied to the gas station. When you're the only game in town, I guess you can rely on business even if you're rude and apathetic. The food was alright, but the woman who took our order acted as if we were keeping her from her next snack and seemed like it was a chore to ask what toppings my wife wanted. Our cashier only spoke to us to tell us we were done and the cashier next to her was even worse. Nobody ever greeted us or thanked us or made any effort to make us feel welcome or even wanted. When our mediocre food was ready they called my name like I was in trouble. Three of the fountain drinks needed to be changed and all of the trash cans were full (it was not busy and they had four people working). Thank goodness I have choices. This is probably one of the worst burgers and onion rings I have ever choked down - the patty was so thin there was nothing to it and bun was soaked in grease - same for the rings - the onions were cut so thin that there was nothing to bite into and what there was for batter didn't even stick to the onion and just flakes off - not at all worthy of another stop in ! read more

Why is it that burger/BBQ joints in gas stations are so good? Because they are generally mom and pop businesses. Great cheeseburgers here at this gas station/restaurant. Had the green chile burger and it was quite good. Onion rings had a light, crisp breading embedded with black pepper. My son had the fries which were nothing special, just fries. read more

Boone's and it was spotlessly clean! Pristine restrooms. Very nice place. We got gas and as well as bought coffee. We needed more coffee as the machine appeared empty. As a result we chatted very briefly with the manager. He was seriously 'on top' of this place. The cafe seating is more then ample and again so clean! I would not hesitate to try the food here - which we will likely do on our next day trip. There was a line at the cafe counter in fact - which suggests others like it well too.
