I went here on Sunday night for the first time in a long time. I have a washer and dryer in my apartment, but it's small so I needed a bigger washer for my bed comforter. I swear no less than five machines were broken. Not only that, but sticky notes indicated some machines have been out of order since February. That's ridiculous. There are still enough machines for people to get laundry done, but neglecting the issue for so long just seems lazy and careless. read more

We have been utilizing this laundry mat while we are living in a house without one. I will sometimes just drop our clothes off and pick up 24/hrs later, they will text me when it's complete with the total. That is very convenient and a life saver. For starters it's a large location with a ton of washers and dryers. You have small washers to huge ones. The dryers range from normal size all the way up to 50lbs. We have found the machines reliable and easy to use, there are a few out of order but nothing to complain about. My only gripes are the last few times we've been there our black shirts and sometimes pants have oil stains on them. Also, the fold and fluff drop off service is expensive compared to what we are used too. Inflation maybe? ‍ We will be back. read more

Happy with this laundry mat. Compared to the other laundromats in Anchorage I would say it is the best and cleanest facility. I have never noticed washers out of service except for the few that only way in hot water which is not a bad thing. I have noticed one or two dryers that are out of service but there's always washers and dryers open when my family went to do laundry. The guy D is amazing and kind and so helpful! When it comes to laundry nothing is worse than when your machine is out of order! My machine was on the fritz last year and I regularly found myself going to the laundromat to wash my things. D' family laundromat was not the closest to my house, but it was worth the extra drive. First the staff is very helpful, if you need something they can be found in the office and don't hesitate to come help you. Where some laundromat attendants are in a locked office behind a glass window, D' Family are at you service. Second, as a woman sometimes if I'm doing laundry by myself, in a large facility and there's not many people around, I feel uncomfortable and not very safe. Well, Not here! There is always people buzzing around, I swear no matter what time I went there was always enough people to make me feel comfortable and safe! I totally recommend this as my go to laundromat in anchorage. read more

This laundry place is filthy!. Floors are dirty, every trash bin is full. Bathroom is in bad condition. A lot of washer/dryers are out of order. And the worst thing of it all here is the SMELL! It smells so bad!. It's smells like sewage!. I will never go here again. Also the laundry vending machine you have to ask attendant for detergent but there is no attendant here. It's a great price and the machines are super fast, only takes 25 minutes to wash and 30 mins to dry for a regular load. The guy there is pretty nice, I've always gotten my money back when a machine doesn't work. They have cheap but great soap and dryer sheets available if you forget yours at home, which I have done a couple times :) read more

D's Family laundromat is odiferous. When you wash your clothes there, upon returning home, your clothes have the identical stank. Until they have a plumbing / septic / sewer / drain filter expert analyze the problem, your clothes smell worse leaving there - they will stank. read more

First time using this laundromat as it had the best reviews in the area. For one, they are insanely priced, as in $6 for a wash for my comforter. I looked past it because it needs to be done, but the owner was heading out as I came in. He asked "Do you need help with anything before I head out?" I'm not super familiar with laundromats, so I just double checked that it was coin op (last one I went to you had to pay for a special coin for machines) he replied in a super irritated tone "yes, but the question was do you need anything. Before. You head. Out." I said no and went about my business. I don't really care what's going on in your life, you've got a business to run, you could at least be cordial. read more

My washer is broken but my dryer works, so while I'm waiting to get it fixed I come here to wash clothes. I've been a couple of times and found that the prices are similar to Abbott Laundry. There is soap for sale for a $1, but you don't buy it from the machine you buy it from the guy in the corner behind the door and he pours it from a jug into a little cup. Way to capitalize, but is that even legal? In and out under a half hour and the clothes are clean. Will come again until the washer is fixed. read more

Clean & reasonably priced laundromat. Quiet even when busy - I would give them 5 stars if the dryer cycles lasted longer - charge me more & give me reasonable time rather than make me keep adding time... Also wifi would be nice for customer use! read more

I was looking for a place to clean our comforter and came across D'family. I stopped by the facility and it was cleaner then most laundromats I've been to in the past. They offered a fluff and fold service and also had plenty of do it yourself machines. I spoke with the attendant about cleaning my comforter and she was nice and took my name and number. A few hours later I received a call informing me my comforter was ready. I picked it up and it was clean and smelled great. For $24 not a bad deal. I can see myself using their services again. read more

I love that this laundromat is open late! My roommate and I were busy all day and STILL had to do laundry I looked online and this one was open late so we came here to do our laundry. We had about 5 loads to do and we were out in no time. There weren't much people there so it was nice and quiet. read more

Mr. and Mrs. D are very friendly business owners. The machines vary in cost from $2.75 for top loaders to $3.75 - $5.50 for front loaders. The front loaders have a pre-wash cycle, so you can add soap twice. If you just want to add to the wash cycle, you have to pay attention to the machines timing and the appropriate channel to add detergent. I didn't know this at first and was unhappy when my clothes were not clean but it was user error and have since been most happy with the results. It cost 50 cents for the first 9 minutes or 20 minutes for $1.00. Last load is 10 pm but one has to be done by 11 pm. The dryers are hot but if you've got a lot of laundry, you'll need to get there no later than 9:30 pm to ensure your not taking home damp clothes. It really is a great laundromat and they have cable and free WIFI too. read more

I've lived here most of my life, driven by this place prob a million and one times, but have never gone in. Saw a coupon for 1/2 off comforter cleaning for $15. I was very impressed with the results and I felt very pleased to hear the worker say "look over it when you get home, if you aren't 100% satisfied we will do whatever we need for free". The place is VERY clean, friendly staff and they did a fabulous job. Took about 4 hours to clean my comforter and they only do cash (remember that when you go in). I was seriously in need, late Sunday night, and thank heaven for Yelp, first time in this city and I found this place - 18 minutes from my downtown hotel but absolutely worth the drive. Many machines, they're fast, staff available to answer questions. And good wifi. Worth every cent. The no-name ATM machine was out of service (big problem for me) but the gas station a few doors down has a Wells Fargo one that worked so I was in business. Seems to me to be a hard working family business. More power to them. read more

The owner (I think his name is Tan) is the best. My family has been going here for years to wash our comforters. Tan knows everyone by name, ask how our kids are doing, gets them a little cup for water, sometimes throws you some laundry soap on the cheaps if you forgot your soap or dryer sheets. Even gives hubby relationship advice (happy wife happy life lol). When moving we've even used the drop-off service so they wash the clothes for you. Smells so dang good. Bit spendy tho & might take a day or so but well worth the convenience moving! If there's an issue with one of the washers he fixes the problem/refunds no questions asked. I am from out of state and came to do laundry between legs of our vacation. They have detergent to sell, but not from a machine like most laundromats. It says " see attendant." That would have been fine except there was no attendant on duty. I would have needed to go elsewhere except that some very kind local lady gave me detergent. The place is clean. We used to go to this laundromat all the time. The owners were nice and it was always clean. Now we have a washer/dryer, but our dryer is currently broken. I washed my laundry and brought it there to dry. Got there at 10 pm. (Would never just utilize dryers during peak hours.) The guy working there said last load at 940. I was like "oh, we are just gonna dry." He said we couldn't use the dryers anyway if we didn't use the washer. And he would not budge or make an exception. Even though most of the dryers were empty and they only had like 3 customers. Not to mention all the other laundromat in the area are closed. Now my wet clothes will sit till 630 am when the other laundromat opens. It's not even the point of the rule... It's just the point that he wouldn't even budge on it when they weren't busy. Like I get it if they were busy. Cause that sucks fighting for dryers. Been there. But, really... You can't let us use 2 of the 20 open dryers? read more

I am so unhappy with the non-service at this facility. I came in with two coupons (value of $7) but was met with repeated excuses why they could not honor them, even though I fulfilled my end. ("The boss is out," "We don't have the soap." "The boss went to the bank.") Worse, there was no effort to make good later.
