As I'm sure many of you know you make calls looking to get an estimate for work and you don't even receive the courtesy of a call back. That's not the case with John. After we receive the estimate we decided we wanted to go with JMK after reading the fantastic reviews. However, we did not have the funds and did not want to pay an additional charge to put the deposit on my credit card. When I reached out to John and explained the situation he put me on the schedule in good faith until I sent in the deposit. The work started on the day we were told it would start and ended on the day we were told it would end. Partway through the work I realized that John and I may have had a communication error with what I wanted and what he thought I wanted and when we discussed it he immediately corrected and promptly addressed my concerns. In all this was the best experience I've had with a contractor.

He responded to my call quickly in March when we took ownership of an older house with good bones in need of a lot of TLC. I was impressed with the positive comments given by past references who described how he hung the moon. (Now I am another on that list.) The work was a few projects, including a gut job on the bathroom and kitchen that had him removing a partial wall separating our kitchen from the dining room to create more light and an open plan, replacing old electrics, replacing all molding, moving door jams, insulating walls, installing new kitchen cabinets from Kitchen World (which are great), and overseeing the work of the hardwood floor sander, plumber, and licensed electricians. For the bathroom, they removed 7,000 lbs. of lath, tile, plumbing, and materials from our 1940 original bathroom and created a beautiful new one that really complements the period of our house. I'm glad to share pictures with anybody. His prices are very fair. Bill's team are hard working guys who show up at 7:30 and work a full day with professional demeanor. They clean up each day. Bill took care of a few extra smaller projects that needed doing and it made me feel great. His team gives the kind of service that shows they care about how you'll live in the space, and it's refreshing. I'd recommend his work wholeheartedly.
