My colleagues and I came here for our company Christmas dinner and for a colleague's birthday dinner. Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and organized with very few customers at the time. The staff: They did not greet us when we walked in and just looked at us. We told them that we had a reservation, and they sat us at our table. The staff was friendly and helpful during our time at the restaurant. Free bread: The bread was hard on the outside, but it was soft on the inside. The bread was a little bland even with the butter that they had provided to us. Mozzarella & Corozza: The bread had a little crunch to it and the cheese was melted to perfection but lacked taste. It tasted well with the marinara sauce and was something different to try. Jalapeno Poppers: The outside layer of the jalapeno popper was crunchy. The inside of the poppers was filled with cheese. The jalapeno poppers were not spicy at all. The sauce that came with this appetizer was ok. Garden Salad/Caesar Salad: The side salad was fresh and tasted good with the dressing that came with it. Chicken Parmigiana w/ Linguini: They cooked the chicken to perfection, and they gave me two big pieces of chicken. I was shocked by the size of the chicken. The pasta sauce was delicious and was not sour. The linguini was al dente. Overall: The experience at this restaurant was not too bad. I would probably come back here only for some special occasion. The appetizers were good but some of the items needed a little more flavor. The entree was pretty good that we ordered. Maybe next time, we will try some new appetizers and different entrees.

I love this place. I have come here many times over the years. I particularly love their vegetable pizza. It's tough to do a takeout of that pizza however it gets soggy because of the fresh veggies . But that's my go to here, that, and their meatballs are spectacular. A little more pricey than other places but worth the extra $$. It's a nice place too. Good parking. Friendly servers, great food !

Was a busy Sunday! Service excellent. All enjoyed our meals.. Appetizers of calamari, mozzarella sticks and fried ravioli great. Like that meals included salad and side of pasta. Casual atmosphere.

Such good food!! The environment is awesome, typical Italian vibes! I love their salads and the food is always excellent.

Calamari, they were nice enough to give us both the marinara sauce and sweet chili sauce!

I've been coming to d'italia with my family for as long as I can remember. It's a little Italian gem hidden on route 35. They are a pizzeria with a small dining area. They have a huge following so the dining room tends to be crowded especially on weekends. You can call ahead to make reservations, which I absolutely suggest even for weeknights to be on the safe side. The food here is so delicious, they have a perfect red sauce that isn't too sweet and also not too herby. Their house balsamic dressing is the best I've ever had, hands down! It's creamy and vinegary and just perfect. I've had wraps, salads and classic Italian (American) dishes, all have been cooked perfectly and very tasty. My favorite menu item is the Tortellini Al Forno, but they always have great specials and really you just can't go wrong at D'italia!

Moving my rating up to 3.5 stars based on recent meals! Ordered a Greek salad with shrimp for lunch today. Got 5 decent-sized shrimp atop a smaller, and a little sandy, salad! Enjoyed the roll they often send along. Have not had anything other than lunch takeout from d'Italia, but a solid choice for a decent lunch!

I've been eating here for years and I love the food there. My favorite dish is the Chicken and Shrimp Menzo.

And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!

Great sauce, crust, good balance of flavors in the toppings. Portions were super generous for the individual pizza - ended up taking most of the pizza home bc was so full from the garlic bread! Good amount of seating indoors, and staff was nice but definitely takes a bit of time to get their attention for the check/water/etc. Always a sucker for a good wood fired pizza though!

We ordered bone-in buffalo wings, chicken Alfredo gnocchi, garlic bread, and my bestie got a personal vodka pizza with sausage. The food honestly did not disappoint, everything was flavorful, hot, and worth the wait. That said, the service was definitely on the slower side. Our waitress was very nice and polite, but things took a while overall. Even after the place started to clear out halfway through our meal, the pace didn't really pick up. We also waited at least 15 minutes just to get the check, which was a bit frustrating. One thing that stood out (not in the best way) was seeing a staff member wiping crumbs and debris straight onto the floor while cleaning tables, which wasn't the most pleasant to watch while eating. Overall, the atmosphere was really nice and the food was great, but the slow service and a few cleanliness issues kept it from being a full 5 stars. I'd still come back... just maybe not when it's super busy.

I came across Pino Pizza Restaurant while looking for something quick to eat before an appointment…read more The decor is pretty standard for an Italian spot--nothing fancy, just a casual, no-frills environment. It was definitely busy when I went; the place was packed and the parking lot was full, which says a lot about its popularity. If you're hungry and need something fast, this is a solid option. The pizza itself was good and hit the spot, though it's not somewhere I'd necessarily go out of my way for. One thing that did bother me was the food handling. The same employee who took my payment also put my pizza in the oven, and I didn't see any gloves being used. Under normal circumstances I would have said something, but I was short on time and very hungry. Still, it's something that shouldn't be overlooked. Overall, it's a convenient place to grab a quick bite, and I might return if I'm in the area, but the hygiene practices could definitely be improved.
