We enjoyed drinks , and a meal in the outdoor patio. Medeline was great and attentive. The chicken parm was cooked perfectly and tasted great! Will be back!

Extremely happy I love the atmosphere. It's very quiet. The ambience is very great. The food is extremely delicious. I've recommend the salmon or the chicken.

Their soup was better than the entree I got. They had an Italian wedding soup. I ordered the Dover sole and that was disappointing. It came slightly fried like it was a sole francese with too much crab meat on top. Got so sick of the crab meat while I was eating it. It came with vegetables that tasted so sour. The potatoes were alright. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. My waitress was nice but she didn't try everything on the menu. I'm not sure I will return. Table next to me got a chicken Marsala and an eggplant Parm. Maybe I should have had what they had. The Dover sole was kinda disappointing.

This reminds me of an old school Italian restaurant where they have been an institution in their neighborhood. I appreciate that that make their own desserts. We made a reservation for 5 on a Wednesday night. It was dead when we got there. The restaurant was totally decked out for Christmas. It had low lights and warm home like ambiance. Gorgeous Christmas tree near the bar. The food was decent. We all shared one order of calamari and one order of the house salad. My entre was the clams with linguini. Our server was warm and friendly with us. I had the tiramisu for dessert. Very good! However one of my biggest issues is it took 30 minutes to get our drinks. She brought the bread and waters right away and the we waited for our wines and cocktails for what felt like a long time. Even though it was dead inside the whole meals took over 2 hours. Of course we were chatting the whole time, but getting our drinks, dessert ( homemade ) and then the checks etc was long. I would recommend they cut at least one page out of their menu and focus on speed throughout the meal.

We went here on a Saturday night with 7 coworkers from out of town. We got a table (I'm told we were lucky). I would call and make a reservation next time. Food serving sizes were big. Price was great. Taste was awesome. All freshly made. Service was excellent. A happy server makes the experience even better. When I come back in the area I'll come again. 5 stars!

I came here with a large group on a Sunday. We had reservations for 5:30 but ended up there at 5 and they happily accommodated us. There was a special on the "blue lagoon" drink, a tropical cocktail, that most of our group ordered and really enjoyed. There were no fun non-alcoholic drinks, this is more of a traditional Italian place, so I opted for soda. In the salad portion of the menu there is "burrata insalate" and I guess because it was in the salad section instead of the appetizer section I imagined a full salad with, prosciutto and tomatoes mixed in and a creamy burrata on top. The plate was wonderfully presented but I was disappointed that I was sharing because it didn't seem like enough! The portion I did have was delicious. I am briefly on a gluten free diet for health reasons and it has been hard at times to dine out. When I asked about gluten free options they presented a full menu which was nice to have especially in an Italian restaurant where most dishes are expected to have gluten. They have gluten free pasta which has a different consistency but didn't mess with the flavor of my dish. I got the pasta with broccoli rabe in a garlic and oil sauce (pugliese) and added hot sausage. It was good but could have used a bit more flavor, maybe parmesan or a fresh squeeze off of a lemon. My sister got the seafood risotto which was superb- seriously no notes on that one! We finished the dinner off with a flourless chocolate cake. It was very rich and I was glad we were sharing, but I am not complaining, the fudgyness of this cake was divine.

Thankfully, another server saw me waiting and waiting to place my order. Only 2 servers and the place was surprisingly busy so service was lacking in addition to the disappointing execution of my meal. I played it safe, I thought, and ordered the mixed veggie salad with salmon. The salad was a pathetic array of about 6 Boston lettuce leaves and then an inordinate amount of sloppily sliced red onions, way too many capers, and drowned in a tasteless vinegarette all served on a huge platter. Maybe a nice place to grab a happy hour drink ...but too much competition for food in the area to dine here.

The pork chop was one of the best pork chops I've ever had! Their drinks were delicious as well. Their portions are a little smaller, but the quality and flavors make up for it! When the extra item was found on the bill there was a bit of a dispute and back and forth but they fixed it in the end. The wrong dish was a compromise on our party's part, one of our friends accepted the plate even though it was not what she ordered, there was no move to fix it on the restaurant's part. We were brought downstairs to a large room full of tables and were the only ones in there. We wondered if we'd insulted someone, or if one of us might be 'offensive', (no one was) but as it turns out, it was a 'Godsend'. We're all in our 70's and hearing/speaking can be challenging in a crowded/noisy dining room. We remained the only ones there for almost the entire 2 hours we were there and really enjoyed ourselves without having to yell or ask "WHAT!?" We shared a couple of salads (Greek and Arugula) and calamari, all very good. My wife had the seafood capellini and one sister the seafood fra diavolo, which they both enjoyed. My other sister had a seafood salad and my BIL went for the double cut pork chops, which he too enjoyed. I opted for the Halibut / risotto. Halibut is not an easy fish to make 'moist or juicy'. I make it at home and it comes out 'pretty good' (at least my wife says so) but here, this portion was fantastic! So light an flaky and tasty. Definitely give it a try if you enjoy Halibut. We all shared a couple of desserts... a home made carrot cake and a chocolate cake from 'outside'. Both good, but the carrot cake was served warm, which was a first for all of us... and it was terrific! Without a doubt the best carrot cake we'd ever had, so save a little room for their carrot cake if/when go. Our servers, Alyssa and Dagmar provided excellent service as well as some humorous dialogue while we were there. Made our meal just that much better!. Yes... it's a BYOB!

And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!
