But Dave was pre-approved by home warranty, so that tells you he's good. He inspected the door noticed a few things out of whack..put on a temporary hinge in rotted area. Highly recommend a new door. Garage door spring snapped and thought "I could watch YouTube videos and do it myself." After watching how much tension there is on these spring I decided I better leave it to the pros rather than end up in the hospital. My garage door's left spring broke Sunday (2/20/2021). I used Yelp to get 3 quotes. Dave (D L Door) responded quickly and provided a quote to replace both springs. He scheduled the next day (President's Day) even though it was a holiday. He was professional and suggested a heavier duty spring set (previous was 10k cycles, this one would be 27k). He didn't have the part in his van but said it would come in soon as he ordered it last Friday. He called me later on Monday to say it came in. He scheduled Wednesday (11/23/2022) to change the springs. He also advised changing the door rollers (over 20 years old). I highly recommend Dave. He did a great job! Our garage door stopped working suddenly and my parents wanted it fixed ASAP, so we used Yelp to get some quotes. We received responses from 3 businesses: D L Door & More, Garage Door Doctor Hawaii, and Island Garage Door. Only the first two responded promptly and followed up with helpful information. We decided to go with D L Door & More solely based on the fact that they could come the next morning. Very convenient. Dave arrived a little after 9 AM and ended up working until around noon. Dave gave a few other recommendations about replacements that should be done. We ended up having to replace the entire overhead unit of the garage door including the circuit board. The rollers that move the garage door smoothly were replaced as well as the sensors, outside keypad, and handheld controllers. The total cost was above $600... way above the quote. Despite the fact that the job was well done, the total cost for the job was on the higher end compared to the national average of what a garage motor reinstallation would cost. I don't know the Hawaii average, so this could easily be the typical cost for a garage motor + parts replacement job in Hawaii. It is hard to tell. So I will give DL Door & More the benefit of the doubt. Dave was very nice and when he ran into some issues, he called the company that made the garage parts and found a solution. Overall, it was a job well done. The garage door runs smoothly (it doesn't make as much noise) and most importantly, it works when we press the "open" button! read more

Messaged for a quote through yelp and he was able to reply quick for appt the next morning. He did the job but failed to inform me he needed payment same day after job completed. This was for a property at our church and we have used small business plumber and other business no problem getting invoice and mailing them payment after doing a project. This guy got a little upset when I asked about mailing payment and not paying him right there. we have to get the authorized persons to sign the check when we make a check request so I need to know the exact amount but this guy said he couldn't give it to me only quote and would have to come in person to assess the actual amount so I couldn't have a check ready for him anyway. He said the reason he makes people pay right then is he has been cheated before and people don't pay him I understand that but he should have made that clear when we were messaging and been a little more understanding that he didn't inform me. I just found him from yelp as a new potential customer to his business so he should have been more understanding and flexible. My garage door had been coming off the track almost every day and it was frustrating waiting around for "the company that installed my door last year" to get back to me on when they could come out to fix it. I found D.L. Door & More on Yelp with two excellent reviews. Now I know why. I called Dave because I was having problems with my garage door. He tried to help me solve the problem over the phone and scheduled service only when all the options he gave me didn't work. He came the next day (on a Sunday morning) and immediately went to work. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate in advance of doing any work. He changed all the rollers, tightened the springs and the chain, replaced a bent hinge, serviced the door, and even changed the wall plug that wasn't working properly. He did all this within an hour.
