The two men who came to take out the old AC and to install the new AC was amazing. They were very professional. The old AC was glued tightly into the wall and we couldn't get it out. We called Jama'aina Handyman and the men managed to get it out. They did more than we expected ( fixed the area surrounding the AC, matched the paint to the color scheme and even took away the old AC. Their work was so much better than what was previously there. We had a finished kitchen with a ~2 1/4 in gap in the trim between the built-in refrigerator and the wall. Refrigerated was fixed in place leaving little room for work. Carpenter figured out how to build a frame for backing then secured the trim to the frame. Very resourceful. It looks much better. read more

Had a four day project replacing two gates. Joe came out for the first day and relocated the posts before one of his workers came in to finish the project. After about five months, and some high winds and rain, the slide lock on one gate didn't line up, along with the lock coming off and one hinge coming out of the post on the other. Called Kama'aina Handyman to repair them. I was going to pay them to fix the problems since it was months after the install. Joe came out and fixed everything at no additional cost. I know he saw the defects from their earlier installation and made everything right...no actually better than the original installation. Hoku repaired a custom built bathroom cabinet drawer that separated from the tracks in a way I could not repair, and did a quick and very effective job. I was very happy with the great customer service I received from obtaining a quote through Yelp, speaking with the office staff, and seeing the Techs complete the job quickly and thoroughly. The cost of the job was fair for the work done. In fact, the Tech determined that the job would not be as extensive as was originally quoted based on the photos I sent them to re-attach a conduit that housed our electrical cables from the electricity pole to our house. He graciously informed me he would bill me for just labor since no materials were actually needed. A nice surprise. I definitely would use them again. read more

He was always on time, incredibly patient and polite, and went above and beyond to make sure that the repair was done to a quality that the owners of this asset would be happy with and that I as the paying tenant would be happy to live in. He went above and beyond to match the existing walls and floors (with repeat trips to the store to physically go through flooring by hand to find the batch that was the most accurate), and as a result the repair is totally invisible and the area is cleaner than it was when he started. I contacted them Sunday night and by Monday morning they had contacted us and set an appointment for that same day. They arrived on time. The job was to install a door from our laundry room to the outside. My 78 year old partner had tried to install it himself after waiting 3 weeks for a Home Depot installer to contact him. When the original door was removed, it was clear to see that the opening had been modified. The original door was not the correct size for the opening. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman. They did an excellent job and built a new frame for the doorway. They also replaced some cinder blocks that had broken with wood framing to make sure the door was straight and plumb.
