The total came out to be $17. I was quite surprised and by far the most expensive burger I have ever goten (not much of a burger girl). While I was waiting, I thought to myself that this burger better be worth $17. The burger was a smoked gouda topped with shrimp over an Angus beef patty. It was oozed with cheese on every inch of the burger. They gave me a fork and knife with the burger. That was much needed since there was no way of eating this burger without getting it all over yourself. This burger should really be called "the heart attack burger". Although, a little salty at times with an overwhelming amount of cheese, I managed to finish it. Pretty standard food truck, I didn't think it was anything to rave about. I was at a work event that had food trucks available to eat. I've always seen the D'lish food truck at local food festivals in Houston and this is the first time I decided to try it. After take a peek at their menu, I was originally going to order one of their poutine options, but I recently got oral surgery so the things I can actually chew has become limited. So I opted for one of their mac n' cheese options, specifically the smoked gouda and shrimp mac n' cheese. Sounded yummy. I liked the cheese sauce, it had a little bit of a kick to it at the end. It wasn't gritty cheese sauce and it was super creamy. The shrimp was well cooked and wasn't rubbery. They were small shrimp but you get a good amount of them in a serving. I liked that D'lish offers 2 sizes, an appetizer and an entree size. I opted for the entree size since it was supposed to last me the whole day, that being said I should have just gotten the appetizer portion. Made my way to the Houston Food Truck Park for an early dinner. The food truck that I was planning to go to wasn't there so I stumbled upon D'Lish. When I saw the word poutine, I knew this place was for me. For those of you who are not familiar with this Canadian goodness, it's basically fries covered in good stuff: gravy, cheese curds, etc. I went with the lobster and smoked gouda poutine which came with all of the above plus romano cheese and a great lobster sauce. We attended the Pearland Winterfest and were excited to try this truck. We ordered 2 burger combos and 2 pita taco combos. The lady taking our order never corrected us when asking for a combo. The pictures she used to identify our orders all had fries in the picture. I dared to assume that was the combo. Upon paying $67 for 4 meals...3 drinks (2 waters and a canned soda) I looked over the receipt to see where the big hit was as the most expensive thing we got were the tacos at $13.99. We were charged separately for for 4 fries at $3/each. Additionally they got our order wrong on the burgers. So normally I don't complain until I've made them aware of what I felt was wrong-doing so they can respond. They've responded and basically don't care at all. My wife and I tried them out at Wheels Up Wednesday yesterday. The food was okay but hardly worth the money. I had the 2 sriracha shrimp tacos for $14.99. I really wanted fish but they were out of fish (even though we were there when they first opened) and my wife had the snack size crinkle cut fries covered in lobster Gouda sauce, which I think was about $8. Today I see my credit card was billed for $38.95. Where did $38.95 come from? I somehow doubt the only other thing we ordered (a Coke) was $15. Then, to rub sriracha in the wound, my credit card was billed TWICE. When the guy went to swipe the credit card a second time my wife even mentioned that he already had, to which he replied that he thought it timed out but would check. Guess not. Fortunately my credit card company should take care of that for me. Stuff happens...but to overcharge and then double charge after having it pointed out is a bit much. Update: The duplicate charge was removed from my credit card. I'll agree that it is a little pricey but I have never been disappointed with anything I've eaten from this truck. It is simply my favorite food truck I've tried in Houston and I try to get there whenever they are at my office building for lunch. I just wish they came by more often. I usually get either the Crawfish and Shimp Poutine or the Fried Chicken Poutine. Both are excellent! The sauces are rich, flavorful, and plentiful. D'lish was one of the food trucks that was at my building's Food Truck Fridays. Their food is definitely D'LISH! I ordered the Smoked Gouda and Lobster Burger ($13) with a side of fries to share with my coworker. The mix of sauces--3 different cheese + garlic aioli and other good stuff--on the burger was amazing. It created a cheesy, zesty sauce that went perfect with my fries. The sauces might have overpowered the lobster flavor, but no worries, the burger was still flavorful! Plus, there homemade egg bun was made to perfection! It was fluffy and buttery. Overall, expect some good-tasting gourmet burgers. I'll be back again to try out their Truffle, Garlic & Herbs fries (which they sold out at the time) and their southern fried chicken strips! I'm definitely a fan of this place. I had an opportunity to eat here for my lunch break. My entree selection was the Smoked Gouda and Lobster Burger, which was 12 bucks. The only disappointing part about this burger... it didn't come with fries. Fast food has ruined me. The burger itself was NOM NOM NOM. I couldn't put it down without having another bite shortly afterward. It comes with smoked Gouda sauce, garlic aioli, jalapeno ranch, asiago and romano cheese. The patty was greatly seasoned and totally juicy. There was a small portion of lobster that complemented the entire flavor. The food from this truck is amazing. I was a little skeptical about ordering seafood from a food truck because I'm from south Louisiana and VERY picky about the freshness of seafood. It was great! I'm not sure if it was because the seafood was super fresh or if it was covered in cheese so I couldn't tell, but who really cares, right?! Everything was very good and I'd eat this again anytime. I'll be honest - this food truck would have to be pretty awful for me to give it anything under 4 stars. I work out of a high rise office complex which is a "foodie desert" by the Omni Hotel off Woodway in the Galleria. Our only option without getting in the car and driving is the equivalent of Murphy's Deli which just sucks after dozens of visits. I was thrilled to get an email from the building management that food trucks would be coming on Thursdays. Today was D'Lish. The menu is kind of confused with Korean fusion and all sorts of burgers and Poutines, but hey it clearly works. I ordered the Krazy Korean BBQ Steak Sandwich with Sriracha Aioli. The order taker lady was totally confused by my Yelp 10% off check-in offer, despite the truck Windows being plastered with Yelp promo stickers. They got it sorted out and accepted my order. This isn't fast food folks, so be prepared to wait up to 10 minutes or a bit longer with more of a crowd. My order was delivered in a pretty reasonable time for a foodie truck. The sandwich was a bit smaller than I expected but I'm OK with that. I didn't want fries or to be in a lunch coma. The steak burger was solid, though it cooled down more than I would like as they serve it in an open tray and I walked fast back to my office. Buns are buttered and pretty tasty. The steak was pretty good, could be more tender/less well done but nice Umami flavor and seasoned right. I didn't get much heat from Sriracha mayo - they could have made more. My wife and I went to the food truck to check it out because they were parked at our apartment complex. Once we saw the menu and saw how worth trying it was, I called my mom to tell her the menu since you wanted know if it was good. They have fontine which is a Canadian dish where they cover french fries in whatever they want. She ordered the lobster french fries and I ordered the fried chicken. I am only giving this food truck 3 stars because I ordered the crawfish over fries with cheese. I forget what they called the dish but it was very salty. If it was not salty then I would have given them 4 stars. They could earn 5 stars if they lower their price to $8-$10. The seasoning would have been perfect without so much salt and it just wasn't worth $15. If I had known it was going to salty I would not have tipped. This food quality does not deserve to be a part of the typical food truck gems you're used to discovering. I've always found food trucks to have high quality, bold and creative combinations. I paid $15 yesterday for "BBQ Brisket Fries" where the fries were topped with fajita beef, not BBQ brisket, though they still had me pay a brisket price. It was crinkle cut fries with cheap BBQ sauce squirted on top, the tiniest handful of ground up beef, and fresh cut jalapeños. I am not a picky eater but the quality of these fries were horrible - I didn't bother to finish eating. Houston food trucks are known to be high quality and amazing - step it up D'Lish. read more
