After another area electrician dropped the ball on some electrical work that was supposed to be…read moredone prior to our move-in, our lovely realtor swooped in to suggest we get a quote from Thompson Electric instead as a trusted area company. Thompson provided us a quote that seemed reasonable given the extent of work - primarily replacement of the electrical panel - and I was able to schedule a time with them for the job to be done. They must be in demand because it was about 3 weeks out! On the scheduled day, the electrician promptly arrived early in the morning and set-up shop in our garage to complete the work. He kept me updated about when the electric would be shut off, when it was back on, checked all of the rooms to be sure he could notate which switches went to which areas of the house, and then explained the new panel configuration when the job was done. He was out there working for most of the day and even put up some painted board around the panel to hide that the drywall out there had to be cut for the work to be done. I was expecting we'd have to patch that up ourselves and now it looks quite nice!

They would not answer a subsequent callback. Called their corporate office to complain about this horrific customer service and the auto-attendant keep sending me back to the same branch. Horrific company- if there is a silver lining here, it is that if they treat people this way during the honeymoon phase of a business transaction, I can only imagine the quality or lack there of of their work!

I didnt call Window Universe intially. (my mistake) I had one company (Who I wont review) that was all the way up to getting a downpayment from me. They seemed good initially but I had to fire them when they didnt show up (it was a fourth offence) Too bad. Well I called Window Universe they came out fast. The quoting process was fast. The person (lance) who came out was very personable. Now I didnt realize this but their quote was 1500 less than the other guy I fired. Also Lance is a dialed in person. He called Provia on my door and he told me that the door I was getting was not compatible so we had to switch. The previous guy was going to give me that door with the side lights. (Was it going to even work??) yeah so there was that. The appointment took minutes. We also talked about basement glass block windows. Their prices. Right on the sheet AND they were really good about 1/2 what I expected to pay. So I am going to do that too before the winter. Anyhow when all was said and done Window Universe was less than the guy I almost used and Lance double checked he got the proper sized windows and sidelights. Great experience and I still have 3+ weeks before the windows show up. Ill come back and add some pictures after it is done. I know it is going to be great.

He estimated it would take close to 28 days, but we only had a 24 day window. He promised to meet our deadline and he ended up completing the entire project with a full day to spare. He did this by staying most nights until 9-10:00 and working through lunches and dinners. He was very patient as we selected colors and provided feedback when asked. The finished product exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier. Not only would I hire Skye Painting again, I plan to hire them for a project this fall. He stopped by on his way home from the hospital after his wife just gave birth to his child a couple hours after I spoke with him. Without asking for payment, Christian climbed on the roof of the house and disconnected the wires to make sure they were safe and then would have a very reasonable estimate ready for me that day. He started work almost immediately and worked around my schedule. He was always on time and professional, and the work was completed quickly and perfectly. Highly recommend.
