She didn't do anything to help me for five months. She didn't answer my questions, she really didn't function as a social worker does in any capacity. She participated in a couple conversations between the lawyer and I after asking her to help me for three months only to get one reply saying essentially "we will get to that". During the meeting with her and the lawyer, she demonstrated to me she knew absolutely nothing about me and what help I needed. She made a wild accusation that I had been dragging my feet. It was so off the wall, I couldn't respond except to say I had tried to get her to talk to me for months. She ignored what I said. At that point I knew I should have gone with another firm. The only thing she did do was make suggestions about how I proceed in life that had no relationship to my functional ability. I had only spoken to her once and she made the assumption I needed a much higher level of care than was reality. While people make mistakes, I found it unacceptable to curtly request one piece of information about my finances and then assume I needed an extreme level of care. Julian is also terrible. He charges a huge sum to do estate and trust work but unethically chose to only communicate with my sibling. I was the person needing the trust. He produced (after waiting five months) a basic fill in the blank trust not customized at all and extremely restrictive. His unethical firms refusal to communicate despite pleas for months from clients is completely unacceptable. He not only is not worth his high price tag, he should pay me because I had to do all the work to fix the trust.

This case ended up being deemed complex and lasted nearly 18 months. This was one of the most difficult times of my life (mentally, emotionally, and financially) and it took a lot out of me. First and foremost, this family firm is honest. Max and Nick handled my case and they never once promised me a certain outcome. They informed me of the worst and told me their plan to fight for the best. They always kept me informed and were transparent throughout the entire process. They are fair. I had no idea how expensive this process would be. I was a single mom making OK money, but was not fully prepared for the financial burden my son's father was putting on me by taking this route. Max and Nick did everything they could to keep the invoices down. The nature of my case and the work that was necessary to put in made my case a bit more costly than the usual case. Nick, being in his first couple years at his father's firm, took on a lot of work for my case in order to keep costs down (and he did a fantastic job)! They are dedicated. Not once did Max or Nick make unnecessary jabs or attempts to defame opposing counsel or their client. They were calm and collected and let the facts speak for themselves. We had multiple court dates throughout the 18 months and nearly all trials yielded favorable outcomes for my child and I. I also believe that Max's reputation for being a solid and ethical attorney had something to do with the positive outcome as well. Finally, they communicated with me. There were times where there were multiple emails per day. I had so many questions and I am sure that I was a handful, but Max and Nick always answered and were able to calm my nerves every time!
