    Something to talk abbout
    Sam H.

Came here on a Wednesday night with my wife. We heard great things about D Spot so wanted to try it for ourselves. It did not disappoint! The place was quite busy when we got there but were able to be seated with just the 2 of us. Service was friendly without being to distracting. My wife had Something to talk about crepe which had lots of bananas and chocolatey goodness. I went with savoury so had the Cheese Sausage Goodness with a side of onion rings. Very yummy! We washed it down with a Maltesers Milkshake. Great! Will definitely be back.

Went here to get some dessert after having a delicious meal elsewhere. Once seated it took forever for the server to come and ask us what we would like, also I know they were busy but I expected to wait max 10 minutes for a drink an a slice of cafe at a cafe normally not almost 40 minutes I even ask my boyfriend is they were making it from scratch. I might try it when it's not so busy or another location of this company or...another business otherwise definitely don't recommend here

We came here after dinner around 1030. Really busy place. The menu was enormous! Carrot cake was yummy. Everything was overly sweet, but cute place to come for sugar

Got the Oreo cheesecake. It was delicious and it came with ice cream! I REALLY liked this, but I just can't get behind spending $19 on ONE slice of cheesecake! It was nice for a one time treat, but not again. Waaaay to expensive.

Bruhhhhhhhhhhhh! 786 786!!! This is hands down the the best halal restaurant in Calgary. The service, the food, every tingz in dis joint was perfect. From the minute we got in it was packed so you can tell this place is hype - but the staff handled it well. We were seated within about 10 minutes. We ordered burgers and then dessert and both turned out amazing. The staff was pretty attentive and came around our table almost every 10-15 mins to check in which was helpful (I'm not used to customer service when I visit halal joints, let's b real) The decor is really nice and it was clean. This is probably the only place in yyc where u can get halal and nice desserts in one place especially on a late night. Reminded me of Tinseltown in the UK. Only thing I wish they had was more seating. 6/5 must see! I will definitely be coming by at least once a month.

This was an awesome experience from start to finish. There's chocolate fountains and fun decorations, not to mention how delicious every dish looks after being plated. I had the New York Style Cheesecake (customized with dark chocolate drizzle and strawberries) and a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and my friend ordered a pizza (to-go) and the Red Velvet Cheesecake. The cheesecake I ordered was amazing! So moist and rich, it barely constitutes as cake; and with the drizzle and strawberries it was honestly perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better piece of cake . The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was super yummy too, but that cake though. Dreamy. (My friend loved the Red Velvet Cheesecake, and I have yet to hear about the pizza but I can almost guarantee it'll be so good!) Overall a great night, and they're open super late! They also have really great looking milkshakes, I just had a peppermint tea this time but I think next time I'll have to try a shake!

Really unique ice cream flavors!…read more I was previously recommended village ice cream as a place to visit while visiting Calgary. They have an always flavors menu and a seasonal menu flavor. I tried their north 49 honeyberry flavor (always flavors) and their matcha lemon cookie flavor (seasonal flavor). I really liked the north 49 honeyberry flavor because of the slight tartness of the ice cream. I also don't like my ice cream too overbearingly sweet so north 49 honeyberry flavor was a good choice for me. The matcha lemon cookie was a solid optional too for a seasonal flavor. I'm a sucker for matcha flavor and the lemon cookie complemented the matcha well. The lemon cookie also added nice contrasts in texture too. The ambiance is nice too, I like the open space and greenery. I feel like the thorough menu description beforehand was a good touch so I felt very confident in what I wanted when ordering since the descriptions for flavors were so detailed. Would recommend trying Village Ice Cream and there are several locations throughout Calgary!

I went in at 7pm, there were still lots of cake selections to choose from. I got a piece of the Napoleon cake. It was not good at all. It didn't taste fresh. The inside was supposed to be flaky and crispy like a waffle. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like that at all.It was mushy and chewy in the center. They added a lot of icing sugar to make it sweet and attempted to make it fancy looking. But that is just add on that I can go to any grocery stores and get and put it on any cake. the top 2 cracker pieces were not crispy at all. It was super chewy like it has absorbed a lot of moister that it is no longer fresh. I am not sure if they made the cake the night before or if it has been sitting for days unsold in the fridge. I have had way better cake before. The piece of cake was not worth $3.99. Note that this place is ran by Chinese and sells Hong Kong style cake. They do not make French pastries or cakes. They are also not a Japanese cake store. I have been to France and Japan and no their cakes don't look even close like their cakes. I will not be back and will not recommend coming here. They do not accept credit cards for purchases under $10. Cash or debit only.
