I've taken my dog a few other places before I finally brought him here. Normally, I worry about leaving him with strangers, but all the girls here are sweet, and I know that they will treat him as if her were their own. I'm horrible with trying to explain what I want in a hair cut but they always seem to know what I'm talking about and make him look his best. The interior is always clean, and I've never heard a crying dog so that's always a good sign. They used to have allow you to bring your dog in for self-washes, but they have gotten away from that now. The self-use tubs are now blocked with a fence, I'm not too sure how long that has been the case. Either way, I couldn't be happier with the work they do and the way they conduct business. read more

This was my dogs second time coming here. He did have some matting issues that I explained and had told her to do whatever she thinks to get the matts away as well as to just get him shorter due to warmer weather. It didn't surprise me that he came home shaved in most parts. What did surprise me is that he did come home smelling like anal glands (poop smell) and was licking his back legs constantly. I scanned the places he was licking and he has 3 gashes on his legs that are puffed up with blood and dead skin. Could be more but haven't checked. I'm sad that this was not mentioned when he was handed to me as i'm sure a cut like that multiple times would make him yelp in pain. I paid $175 for this cut too, not knowing any of this. Just sad for my dog and wanted to warn any others about this if you're thinking about booking here. I won't be bringing him back. read more

They shaved a dog that never should have been shaved and damaged her hair follicles to the point where it's been a year and her hair still isn't growing back. I took my pup here per a recommendation of a friend. When they came to greet me, they were super friendly and my pup instantly went to them. When they asked me how I wanted my pup groomed, I was very clear that I did not want him shaved, I like my pup shaggy. I asked if they could clean up his face but keep his body long. Ariel and crew did a fantastic job on our 6-month-old micro mini Bernedoodle. It was only her second grooming session and they were kind, patient, and compassionate with her wiggles and moving around during her grooming session. We were so happy that Grooming by Moraine turned us down (they said they're not taking any new clients!) and we found D'tails instead (who, by the way, share the same parking lot as Moraine's yet, when I asked the person at Moraine's if they could recommend another groomer since I'm new to this, they replied "no!"). To say I was shocked to see that they are literally located right next to one another was an understatement. Not cool. It was our first time here. My fiancé is flying in tomorrow and I wanted our furry son to look and smell his cleanest!!! I got word that this location does self serve bathing which is great because I've never left my boy in strangers hands before and I wouldn't want him to misbehave at a first time grooming. The staff was very nice and accommodating, the location is clean, the interior is cute and well laid out, the parking is "meh" but that's not the shop's fault! My boy and I are very happy with our visit and he seems to have done well for his first time. Have been happy with the self washing service but just tried the full grooming with our two dogs. $45 each & one dog still has mats behind BOTH ears. When I called to asked why I was told I have to tell them to shave that part. They don't do it without permission because it's so close to the skin. I took a pair of house scissors & cut them out with no problem & not even close to the skin. It's sad laziness & making excuses is the only reason I am leaving a bad review. read more

Our go to dog wash for our husky. We pay $18 for the self service dog wash, including shampoo and conditioner, ear cleanser with cotton and towels. And as much as you need too. The tub gives us a good amount of room to lean in and scrub him after we clip him to the hook inside. The shower hose has multiple settings for pressure and temperature, which I love cause I'd hate to bathe him with cold city water outside. After we bathe him there's a blow dryer room which is awesome if you have a husky that sheds as much as ours. Only thing I wish is that the shampoo was better quality we use a whole bottle or more on him to see a difference. It's very watered down. Starting bring our own and we use a lot less. We still use theirs to do his face because it's tearless. Still a great dog wash!! read more

Took my dog before and they squeezed her in and had an ok experience. Took her in today, and when picking her up, the staff was very short and standoffish like that feeling of what am I doing here. I rang the bell, and no one answered for a few minutes, so I knocked, and one of the staff answered and asked me what I wanted, and I told her I am here to pick up my dog. She looked at me and said wait here went back inside and another lady came out and told me how much to pay which was $75 for a sanitary cut wash and nail trim. I gave the woman my money. She went back outside, and I still was waiting for my dog, I could see my dog in the kennel, she looked frightened which I have taken her to the groomers multiple times before, and I've never had her look like that before. When she returned with my change, she said oh don't worry someone's going to grab her right now. So I waited by the door and was given my dog and she was trembling. I thought maybe she just had a bad time this time. So I thought nothing of it. When I got home I noticed my dogs nails were not clipped. She got a wash but her sanitary was not cut. They never once spoke to me about her demeanor if she was not having it or that they couldn't do anything with her nails or her sanitary area. Never has she been a problem and I have always been told please bring her back she's a delight. This time there was no communication between the customer and the service provided which is very sad because I was trying to give this place another shot because I was told it was under new management and I will not bring my dog back here again maybe someone else can have a better experience, but they really need to work on their customer service and their communication skills. If a service wasn't done and I was charged the whole amount of $75 for the service, it should have been told to me and I should've got a refund for what was Not done. This was my Husky and my first time using a self wash and we had a amazing experience. The person at the counter was very helpful, she explained everything that I would need and how everything worked. You can wash your dog with their shampoo and conditioner, they provided ear cleaner, brushes and had the water at nice warm temp in the tub. Then you can go into the blow drying room, dry your pup and in my husky's case let the hair fly and then they clean everything up for you what could be better and all for only $18.00. My first time at D'tails and they are great. I felt a little weird washing my own dog there. I had to have someone help me get my big Lab in the tub. They where so nice and didn't try to sell me on anything. I plan on going back. I have two big Labs and the hair gets clogged in my drains. It's crazy you wouldn't think a dog has that much hair. They genuinely care for your animal and will take extra time, if needed, so that the experience is pleasant for you both.
