I paid and left as I have many times in the past with no need for psychological intervention, a safe space to collect myself or rigorous deprogramming at the hands of overzealous family members. I'm genuinely sorry if the cashier looked at you the wrong way but like I said, it's just a store. Five stars for EMS.

The front of the store has men's and women's apparel with all the usual brands represented - MSR, Patagonia, TNF, etc. The hallway leading to the back has a nice selection of shoes, most from a few brands. The back of the store has a ton of climbing gear and the backpacks/tents. There's also a nice selection of books and assorted items for whatever scratches your fancy. On the way out, I was pleased to note some items up front benefiting a local non-profit outdoor group (thumbs up!). The staff was also very friendly. While I definitely had to hold back on this trip, I would definitely not hesitate to spend local and visit ERO in the future.

One of the guys there (Peter, I think), spent about an hour with her analyzing her foot and recommending the correct boot and insole for her. She managed to snag last year's model, so the price was very reasonable. I'll definitely be going back for any future ski needs. They seemed to have a pretty good selection of apparel as well, and everyone seemed to be very knowledgeable.
