Wow what a great experience at D.T.'s Garage. Both the owner Eloy and his Son are such nice individuals. On the day before dropping my daughter off at FSU, her air conditioning wasn't blowing cold air. It's a 2008 Honda Accord. Since I couldn't get an appointment at my local garage in Jax, I tried to fix it myself with one of the Freon Recharge kits and I apparently accidentally put too much even though it registered green on the gauge, which caused the whole system to stop working I was at My local JAX garage at 7:30 am when they opened to see if they could put gauges on it to try to get the freon levels correct. They took it to the back and the tech said the system would potentially need a full overhaul drain and refill and they wouldn't be willing to do that unless I was prepared that that could cause me to need m an entire new AC system at over $2,000 AND they potentially needed to keep the car for few days. They wouldn't touch it unless I was prepared for the worst. We had to leave to go to Tallahassee, so I decided to find a shop in town to take the car to. I found DT's off Yelp and called and Elon was kind enough to say he would take a look at the system and evaluate it. It was a simple fix of just adjusting down the Freon to the proper levels and he and his team did it and gave the car a through inspection with a simple request for me to just get my future work on both my kids cars done at his place! After the job is complete, they will even test drive your vehicle, if necessary,to make sure they have completed the work to your satisfaction. I wish I could give this place more than five stars. My AC stopped blowing cool air, which is very unfortunate to have happen while in Tallahassee for this summer because it gets super hot. I took my car somewhere else before DT's, and they told me that I would need $1800 worth of repairs to fix my AC. As a college student, I don't necessarily have that type of money lying around. I wanted a second opinion and someone recommended DT's to me. I went in at 8:15 am and was out by 9. All they had to do was put Freon in my car and that made my AC blow cool air again! Instead of having to pay $1800, I only had to pay $200. The mechanics are honest and make you feel like you are part of the family. They don't do anything without explaining it to you first or asking for your permission. They also told me that 80% of their clientele are females, so that was a plus. I had a problem with my car on the way from Biloxi to Jacksonville late Sunday afternoon as I approached Tallahassee. I stopped at an Autozone to let them run a diagnostic. They told me what the error was and that I should not try driving my car to Jacksonville with the problem diagnosed. I was given the names of several local mechanics. I called DT's Garage and got a voice mail which had a cell phone number for immediate assistance. COLLEGE STUDENTS PARENT BEWARE!!!!!!!!! This is the nightmare experience you hope to avoid when your kid is at college out of town with a vehicle problem! THEY TRIED TO TAKE OF ADVANTAGE OF US WITH A LARGE BOGUS REPAIR BILL!!!! I called ahead and spoke to a very sweet lady there on the phone and explained my situation. She said to come on in. Base on previous reviews i decided to go in. Had my son take his car in and they quickly got him in. Took his car back. It overheated once but concerned to the root cause and that's why i had him take it in. This mechanic called me back on the phone and had a water bottle that looked like chocolate mild and silver flakes in it. My son sent me the picture. He suggested it was a blown head gasket. He told me he was going to pressure test the coolant with 30 psi. That's when I knew something was wrong. Coolant system can not withstand 30 psi. It would blow apart every part and item attached and create a larger problem. I then drove out to Tallahassee from Jacksonville and trailered the car back home. Had a buddy of mine that was a Director of Fixed Ops at a very large Ford dealership come to my house to look at it. Guess what? There was only oil in the coolant reservoir and nowhere else. So this mechanic put oil in the there to make it look like it was a bigger repair. Keep in mind the radiator cap holds 16 psi so him wanting to put in 30 psi was a huge problem. We flushed the coolant system and guess what? There was no oil present. Only where he could access was there oil. Also no oil residue on the engine from the spray from when it overheated. We replaced the radiator cap and new coolant for $27. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

My Rav4 needed an alternator/belt and google recommended D T's Garage Auto Repair to me. I called Friday morning and they said come on in. This was after another mechanic in Tallahassee did not return my calls and was overpriced as well. After I got there, they went over it and showing me the old belt and alternator, then they fixed my vehicle quickly as I waited. The mechanic checked the vehicle from front to back and I was treated like I mattered. I also asked them about some other problems and they did not charge me for anything extra. This place is awesome I went to tire kingdom and Pepboys And they were over charging me to get my back breaks done $986 DT only charged me $365 and that's for the set also they're wait time is always less than an hour depending on the job. Went to DT's once again. My car seems to need work every 8 months. I should just trash it-bad model. DT's is always fair, so honest. Tells you what should be fixed, what you can live with and does never nickel and dime you. It is always your decision. No pressure. You are able to talk to the mechanics in person, on the phone, etc... There are no barriers. While they may look small as compared to high end places--I cannot recommend them highly enough.
