I wanted to sign my autistic son up for swim lessons due to so many drownings read about in the…read moremedia. I called ahead of time and made my sons diagnosis clear and my reason for signing up. He has no physical disability and is 6 years old (the age all kids love water). After his first lesson (which he absolutly enjoyed) it was suggested he do private lessons because "he's very active in the water". Lessons went from 30$ to 90$ per lesson. It was presented to me in a way I felt I had no choice or could not bring him back. Its hard enough as a parent of a child with this diagnosis and I understand that is my journey to deal with, I understand this is a business, however this was very discouraging among other things. As I questioned how unfair it felt and came off, there was to attempt of any resolution from anyone.

The senior members teach the junior students with the sensei giving detailed feedback. It is a very unique martial art that is not very intuitive and looks very deceiving. In a series of unrelated events, I ended up driving 55 minutes each way to Woodlands yesterday. Why? Because I rolled my left ankle over two wks ago (don't do jumping squat turns - or do them, and land correctly) and the swelling wasn't going down even after two days of icing it then resting it for two wks. A friend of mine training in the Soma Methodology with the French osteopath Guy Voyer recommended that I go see Jonathan at Antidote. They met at a training. He said the Woodlands and I balked. But Jonathan is literally the only guy in the southeast Texas region who can do fascia pumping. What the heck does that mean? Getting fluids inside and around your muscles to move. What good does that do? Increase joint mobility, correct the direction of joint/muscle movement, and reduce inflammation/swelling. ... is what I understood it to be. (I could be wrong, so ask Jonathan.) My friend spends thousands of dollars learning from Monsieur Voyer (the man gives seminars in NY, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, and Montreal, so learning in those cities involves travel and lodging costs) and apparently so does Jonathan - and Jonathan's been doing this longer than my friend has. So what could I do. I kind of value my ankle. The ability to walk freely is a nice thing to have. Plus, the idea of even having the slightest impact on accessing my shoe collection at will was petrifying enough that I chose to drive the distance. And I'm glad I did! We met at CoreFit, and Jonathan explained the procedure as well as some of his training. I was familiar with some of it so we discussed Soma and tangents off that. The session lasted over an hour and the whole time he tended to and guided the lengthening/relaxing of the muscles in my ankle/feet/shin while engaging in conversation. He even helped increase the space between the muscles in my feet so that I wouldn't get feet cramps as much. And the swelling in my ankle reduced a bit as well. Jonathan also taught me some exercises for my ankle - a homework, if you will, which I appreciated, because that means he cares about your well-being beyond his session with you. I'm happy to say that the session was pleasant, effective, and overall well-worth the drive - a rare compliment from the driving-hating individual that is me. So, my best friend heard about FIT Crew and wanted us to try them out together…read more She called and received a text saying that her call would be returned. It was never returned. I called the next day and got a voicemail. As I was looking to attend a class that day, I did further research and went on their Facebook page and saw various different phone numbers, so I called one. I was told that their 7/3 evening classes were cancelled - although the classes were listed on their website - but I could come to the 9 AM class the next day - 7/4. Then I began getting texts from another person who asked about my availability to talk about Fit Crew. I said I was currently available. I was told I'd get a call in a few minutes, then I got a text two hours later that promised a call. I didn't receive a call at all that day. In spite of all of this, I STILL decided to give them a shot. My best friend and I showed up for 9 AM class. The trainer that was there asks if we were looking for the "Black guy" -- after we've said we were there for boot camp. Then, he explains that the Black guy does the boot camp and he didn't think it was happening due to the holiday. This experience was both unprofessional and a complete waste of time. PS - I got a phone call from the texter 19 hours later.

I have been going about 3 times a week and hope for more. Super convenient and the workouts are fun. I love all things sauna related. How it works: use their app to get in, schedule a class or group of classes. Once you get in there, the classes are playing on the TV. They have about 7 different class types from cycling to yoga to Pilates, barre, rowing and HIIT. They also have a weight area with free weights and machines. You can watch the workouts and do them in each dedicated sauna or in the fx zone. The machine classes are 15 minutes each and you can book them back to back. Each sauna fits 3 people at a time but only once did I have someone else in the class with me. The yoga, Pilates, hiit and barre classes are 45 mins long. The studio is 24/7 so you go when it's convenient. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the studio is nice and clean. They have large restrooms and a shower. Great for a quick workout at lunch time or before or after work. The temps can be adjusted and the sound and lights too depending on how you want to work out. The app works well too and allows you to schedule 3 days out. There are rewards for taking classes and you can use it to track progress or redeem merch. You need a mat and towel from them to use the strength classes like barre, Pilates, hiit, bands, stretching or yoga. They can be rented too. I bought my gear and use it when taking those classes. They provide foam rollers if you need them. I am a fan and can't wait to see results. The only thing I wish they had was treadmill, stair climber, elliptical or more non-machine cardio workouts.
