I enjoyed my workout (open barre) at the workout barre. My instructor was Brenda Wales and she was…read morelovely. She made sure the new folks knew the moves beforehand and answered all questions we had. She greeted everyone who came to her class. So the basics - this place is located on the 2nd floor of the building that is shared so you will have to look up to see it. You cannot miss it though. Take the stairs or the elevator if you prefer. They did have to let me in when I arrived 30 mins before class and I can see why. This is an all female studio and being that they were by themselves on the 2nd floor, safety precautions are taken. Greatly appreciate that ladies! The doors are kept locked once classes start so again, for our safety even though this area is a very nice area. The studio is beautiful, nice wood barre floors and they have showers and all the amenities for you like deodorant, feminine products, pink towels! So if you need to shower and change, go right ahead! Class was amazing. I feel that I was able to keep up and if I struggled, Brenda said it was okay to modify. This class is a low impact class, BUT you will feel it the next day. I felt the burn in my legs the next day from all the pulses. One thing that I really enjoyed was that we were able to use natural sunlight in the studio. You get a nice view of the outside and being on the 2nd floor, we had nice views of the tree tops in the Champions Forest/Spring Cypress area. Loving that we have a barre studio in Spring!

I felt a little uncoordinated during my first visit, but I really enjoyed the class and atmosphere…read more The instructor and other women attending the class were friendly and supportive. It was a great workout and I was sore for the next few days. I took my second class today with a different instructor and the experience was just as good as the first. Their babysitter, Lauren, was really good with my toddler. The cost for childcare is only $5 per class, yay!

I have been at this gym for the better part of the year and a half and when I first started, it was…read moreone of the best gyms I had been to. Which is why I stepped around for so long, however, being a former combat veteran I have injuries that require special equipment that was a bit bulky that corporate made a clear to not have gym bags on the floor, I had made a special arrangement to use a smaller bag to house my equipment about the size of a gallon water bottle so it would "be out of everybody's way". They do have a sign that says to "refrain" from having bags on the floor. A recommendation, not a hardcoded rule. Regardless with my drawstring gym bag underneath the equipment, I was working out on. I had a manager come up and asked me to put everything away. This makes it especially difficult as I have to walk back-and-forth between the locker room to use different assisting equipment for my injuries. I explained the arrangement I had with the previous manager and she instead rather sarcastically told me it doesn't matter that corporate is coming down hard. I am not one to argue so I did oblige and since I paid for the membership, I will be leaving and going back to lifetime fitness after my membership fees are completed here. I highly recommend you do not work out here or start a membership here as they are way overpriced for mediocre equipment and any requests take absolute months to fulfill. As a disabled combat veteran I should not have to walk back-and-forth every time I change an exercise to grab assisting equipment to support said exercises. Based on the rather brash and rude interaction with this manager, I will be contacting the BBB based on the context of the sign, being a combat veteran, and the strife it causes me, including that there are bigger problems than gym bags on the floor, such as continuously, drop weights, misaligned equipment, and un wiped down surfaces. Do yourselves a favor and instead of paying for the membership here, just go ahead and go to lifetime fitness because for the membership fee, you will pay here, you will have access to two gyms instead at lifetime Please see the sign below. If this is a rule, then anybody that is dropping equipment, not wiping anything down, or not re-racking their weights should have a stern talking to just like I did. But I don't see any of that happening.

The free trial class was pretty good, not crowded, and they were friendly. But the regular class was crowded even with the reduced size they have implemented because of Covid 19. I found the instructor hard to hear and it was difficult for me to see what she was demonstrating. I had signed a contract (which included a 5 business day rescission clause) for 4 classes per month. I understood this to mean that I had 5 business days to change my mind making me feel okay about signing up for this. They turned a lot less friendly when I told them I didn't want to continue the contract and only wanted to pay for what I had used. They also informed me the contract did not include 5 business day rescission clause which was confusing as I was sure I had read it. So, when I got home, I reviewed the contract and indeed the clause was there. I called them and told them where it was in the contract. They then informed me that rescission meant that they did not have to return money and only meant that they would waive their 30 day cancellation policy and could avoid further charges. This place seems to be working out for some people. The classes were mostly full and some were even wait-listed. But, I would recommend approaching any of their contracts with caution. Be aware that some text is hidden when they show the contract on their screen.

The instructors are well-versed in each of their low-impact, workout-exercise forms. I've attended Pilates mat, Mat Lengthen, Signature Barre (combo Pilates & barre & yoga), Define (oooh, baby!), Fly (silks) yoga, Flow (yoga), BB Bliss, BB Burn (ohhhhh, baby, baby!) and many of the 45 min. afternoon classes and 60 min. evening classes. I also took a Salty Yoga in the Salt Revival salt room! The only classes I haven't tried are those crack-of-dawn ones. Sending power to those ladies who workout before I'm awake! I am not, and have never been a ballet dancer. I am three months into classes at BodyBarre, and I can say that I am stronger, more balanced, and feeling better - because I'm moving small and large muscles during these workouts. BodyBarre is for ALL bodies, ALL ages. This is a place that truly welcomes, and encourages everyone. I would recommend anyone thinking of adding a little, or little more, or a lot of cardio to take a few BodyBarre classes at your own pace. For me, it was time to discover that I could do more for my health by adding some cardio in a fun, supportive studio. Locally owned, too! Paige, Samantha, Anita, Megan, Avery, Cassidy, Rani, Leilani, Sarah and Lori - you are incredible, and I'm so glad that you are sharing your passion for health and fitness with us!

In class, the instructor gently adjusts you to have lovely form and proper technique, which really makes a difference in how refreshing my workouts feel afterwards (apparently careless technique when I did pilates on my own sometimes just sort of left me feeling drained after my workouts). Having to pay attention elegant technique makes pilates from more than an isolated sweatfest during the day, and makes it seep into other parts of my life -- i.e. I've started getting compliments on my posture by my mother (the ultimate accomplishment). It's not too difficult for those just beginning -- the instructors seemlessly transition from warmup to sweatbreaking moves to cooldown. On the other hand it's quite quite sufficient for those wanting a good workout, and I've been satisfyingly sore from their classes many a time.

Pilates targets muscles I didn't even know existed. Like, who knew your inner thighs could feel this sore, but in the best way possible? And don't even get me started on my abs--they've never looked this good, and I've been trying to meet them for years at the gym with no luck. The best part? You get this magical transformation from a 50 min class AND I DONT have to do endless squats that aren't "squatting" anymore? I didn't even think I could tone my butt like I have! And I've worked out for years. The instructors, Mara, Therese, Terri, and Dinee are ALL incredible. They genuinely love what they do and will gently (but firmly) fix your form when you're accidentally inventing new Pilates moves.lol The studio itself is cozy and clean--none of that overwhelming gym chaos here. I just love it here! It's effective, and ADDICTING!

Perfect combo imo. Instructors are personable, friendly and well-trained. The classes always feel like a safe space as well. As a woman, sometimes going to the gym can be a tad bit uncomfortable, unless of course, you like that sort of attention. If you know, you know. Pilates is a class usually consisting of mostly women. Occasionally, you will come across a man trying out a class, but they are there to workout and relax, not get your number. Anywho! Try out a class for free and see if you like it! Intro class is free and they usually have membership specials so make sure to chat with the front desk before you leave. Enjoy! :)
