Lunch with friends on a Thursday. It was quiet and we had time to chat. They ordered pizza on the lunch special. It came with soup, desert and coffee. The pizza was delicious but a little small. I had the tuna sandwich in a pizza bun. OMG that was awesome. Big portion with a crunchy crust. I ordered a side salad. It was excellent. If you like pizza just order it straight up. Its really good.

Absolutely blown away at the comfort food I ate here. If you're having a crappy/day/week/life, you come here and eat until you don't have any more worries! I must have driven past this place a hundred times in my life and never even looked twice. Their menu is pure italian/comfort goodness. We went with a medium pizza, a 14 inch steak and pepperoni sub and side onion rings and we made it a night of it. That pizza is the perfect mix of "italian style and north american style" with quality dough, plenty of cheese and just enough ingredients to put it all together without being a greasy soggy mess. Reheating the pair of slices I took home with me the next day was nostalgic to the prior night's experience. What a pizza! The sub is a beautiful thing, STACKED with the good and really came together well. I tend to like my subs a little wet so I'll make it a point to ask for extra sauce on the side the next time I'll come around. AND THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME! The onion rings was a generous portion and they were done to perfection! We didn't opt for dessert because we were stuffed but did take some cappuccinos and they were good. Service was quick and friendly. Never let us hanging and the entire experience was very positive. They were quite busy with a full seated resto and people coming in and out picking up the goods.

I had heard if Da Bologna through a Facebook post of one of my girlfriend's friend who raved about it. It's been around since 1958. It's the quintessential mom & pop corner store (really on the corner) that's become a neighborhood institution. I had to go. So about a year later, my girlfriend and I got a roundtuit and in we went... My expectations were dashed. I thought Da Bologna was an Italian restaurant. It is, but it's in the Pizza/Sub format but with a pretty dinning room and no visible stacks of pizza boxes. Don't get me wrong, I f'ing love pizza and subs. But I was expecting more of a Napolitano Pizzeria in the Italian quarter with nice Calabrese salad, grilled sausage, a ton of fresh pasta options, of course, delicious 'Za, some cannolis for desert, yada, yada, yada. But that sure as shit didn't stop me, because PIZZA! Good 'Za I could eat every day. I ordered the sausage pizza, my girlfriend had the all-dressed with bacon, with some frings. Da Bologna really doesn't skimp on the toppings and they are fresh & tasty. The dough is soft and chewy and yet firm enough to not flop down dumping all your cheesy goodness on your plate. I'm a folder. I told my slice to eat it like a sammich. It folded, but damn was it loaded. Tons of cheese, always a bonus and instead of having some cheap sausage sliced into tiny disks of jerky-like texture, they had the class of de-casing the sausage (if it was ever in a casing) and there's was a truckload of it. Nice sauce. Just meat & cheese, nothing fancy, just a very flavorful pizza. And upon reheating the left overs the next day, the crust remained chewy and didn't become concrete. The all-dressed with bacon was equally fantastic. Salty bacon, another plus. Frings, or fries and onion rings. This is where all restaurants lose me a little when I am served French fries that come from the freezer and not the slicer. You just served me this awesome, delicious, flavor packed 'Za but then you go a serve me some McCain's. Nope, just nope. (They were still pretty good). The equally frozen were had a pretty good crunch and were what you expect from frozen rings. (They were still pretty good). And for dessert, they have limited options. Rice pudding, cake which varies from day to day (probably means made fresh (why not the fries?) And Pouding Chômeur and I of course went for the classic Québécois dessert. And. It. Was. Awesome. Made in house? I don't know, but it was a hit. The dinning room isn't all that big (perfect) and the service was great even though the poor girl had the packed room to contend with. She didn't miss a beat... ok one. We waited a little to long for the bill. But I wasn't complaining. In any case, if you're looking for some amazing pizza, Da Bologna is a winner. Next time I might venture in the subs menu, but I'll probably have the sausage pizza again. Yum.

I love the pizza here. Worth the drive (I'm driving in from Laval). From the outside it looks like it's got the same sign it did when it opened over 50 years ago, which lends an antique charm and invites you into its history. More importantly, there's no frills to this place, they don't need to win anyone over with spectacular branding or fancy decor. Da Bologna is all about serving quality food. I haven't yet tried their subs, but the pizza sauce to cheese to other ingredients ratio has been perfected. It's not exactly the "thin slice" style pizza which has grown in popularity lately (and has its place!), but has a much more classic "New York" style pizza that has loads of delicious cheese, a perfect crust and quality ingredients. Everything tastes fresh with just the right amount of greasy! I recommend the Pizza "Special Maison" with it's big chunks of mushrooms. Also, they have a delicious house made style "pepperoncini" which is basically hot peppers in oil. I always get a side of fries which are delicious too! Overall the service was good, but I'm only giving four stars, only because after I paid, my friend and I sat and chatted for a little while, and we weren't offered any refills on our water--that would have reaped a 5th star.

This is an amazing family run business since 1958. I used to eat here starting from the seventies up to the nineties and then I stopped going for the longest of times for a variety of reasons. We did however order pizza delivery over the years and the pizza was always top tier with that unique Montreal style taste. Well today I visited the restaurant with my wife to reconnect with the past experience and let me say the food is as great as I remember it. That says a lot for consistency! We each had a sub with pepperoni, steak, peppers, onions, cheese, lettuce and tomatoe that were cooked to perfection. The spices and seasoning really make the difference. The main difference from other restaurants is that the bread is made with pizza dough. Delish!!!! It also brought me back to my teenage years. This place really is a hidden gem but the nearby locals know it's fantastic. If you want a great, unique tasting and delighfully delicious sub, you need to come here. Enjoy!

There's a reason why this place has been opened since 1958. DELICIOUS pizza! It was worth crossing the bridge from the South Shore over to this neighbourhood pizza joint. Hubby really wanted a salad so we ordered the the Italian salad that wasn't the star of the meal but still fresh and healthy ;). I had to try the Don Pasquale pizza and ordered a small side of onion rings (I need to say that it was a big portion). The crust was at the right thickness and boy was it on point!!! Everything was very good and the service as well. They also have specials running from Sunday to Thursday. For example: 2 Caesar salads and two pizza-ghettis for 29,99$. Our friends ordered it and said it was delicious. I will be ordering this next time. Because I live to eat, I ordered to go a special as well. I got the all-dressed with steak 8' sub with fries and a cola for tomorrow's lunch lol. I will be coming back for sure!
